  1. When looking for Greg's obituary I came across this tweet about him that I really enjoyed, so thought I would share.

  2. Cam Steed of Missouri. He can either go 0/2 or podium. Regardless, he will let it fly.

  3. Before folks ask: Jayden's lone loss was a 10-7 match to Forrest in OT. Other than a 1-0 victory over Sem's Botello, he had two Techfalls and 41 6 pointers (fft/Pinfall). Jordyn had 12 pinfalls.

  4. Opening this thread, I was hopefully thinking that it was only the blog that was gone and not the actual man. always enjoyed interacting with him. His comics and attitude helped create a laid back and fun environment here. Jombo was a hilarious way to start Sunday mornings. He will be missed and his impact will not be quickly forgotten.

  5. Tyler Wells, 133. Was in the blood round last year but has not had a good January/February. Will be seeded low, but is capable of beating almost anyone in the field imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Terrible news to begin the week that we have lost one of our own. Hope you're having a blast with those Sunday comics in the sky because you will be missed down here.

  7. In thinking about dark horses I originally wanted to limit it to guys outside of the top 8 as they are already ranked for AA. But then I got to thinking about the 9 - 12 group and how they are only a blood round win away (in theory), from AA. So I decided to limit myself to 13 and higher. The higher the darker. Then I looked for guys with some rankings momentum. Here is what I have: I love that there are guys from Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, Campbell, Bucknell, Navy, Army, and Bakersfield that are rallying into their conference tournaments. Those are the guys I am pulling hardest for.

  9. gawd damn. I wasn't ready to read this when I logged on. Condolences to his family. If his offline personality was anything like his online one, he must have been the hoot of every family gathering.

  11. I haven't listened yet, but Bo seems like a petty guy overall. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't/won't ever give David Taylor credit for his successes. I've never been a Nickal fan. Even back to his earlier days in college he bothered me in interviews.

  14. Who do you think will wreck some brackets at NCAAs or their postseason tournaments? My picks are kind of lame because they're all familiar names from big conferences. Would love to hear about any diamond-in-the-rough types to look out for. But just off the top of my head: Sam Cartella (Northwestern, 149 RSFR): great underrated wrestler imo flying a little bit under the radar since the weight is somewhat stacked. Big Tens will be tough no matter what his draw is, but I think he'll qualify for Nationals and AA. Kysen Terukina (Iowa State, 125 SR): similar to Cartella, his conference tournament will be more brutal than the NCAA tournament. I don't think it would be too earth shattering to see him landmine some brackets at NCAAs, but I think he finishes his career at ISU strong and can AA. Maximo Renteria (Oregon State, 125 JR): I don't remember how many allocations that Pac-2 has at this weight, but I think he's a better wrestler than his record indicates with a lot of close matches that could've swung either way. I think he's good for a big upset or two if he qualifies for Nationals. Cobe Siebrecht (South Dakota State, 157 SR): Dunno what happened to him since leaving Iowa but the weight is very much up for grabs and I'd like to see him make some noise at NCAAs.

  15. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/honda-produce-next-civic-indiana-not-mexico-due-us-tariffs-sources-say-2025-03-03/ TOKYO, March 3 (Reuters) - Honda has decided to produce its next-generation Civic hybrid in the U.S. state of Indiana, instead of Mexico, to avoid potential tariffs on one of its top-selling car models, according to three people familiar with the matter. The change underscores how manufacturers are scrambling to adapt to U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada. While several automakers have expressed concerns about the levies, Honda's move is the first concrete measure by a major Japanese car company. mspart

  16. Which is it boss? Liberals argue that raising the minimum wage is essential because people need a living wage, (insert blue hair Portland people yelling here)………… yet they insist that doing so won’t increase prices for businesses like McDonald's. But when automakers like Honda move jobs from Mexico to Indiana—paying American workers more—suddenly, we’re told car prices must go up. Hmmmmmm…. Have that cake and eat it too? So which is it? If raising wages for burger flippers doesn’t make a Big Mac more expensive, why does raising wages for auto workers make a Honda $pricier? You can’t have it both ways. At this point, making sense of this logic is like trying to satisfy a crazy bi polar woman—I keep putting in the effort, but somehow, I’m the one getting screwed.

  20. 125 Gallagher from Penn / NQ last year (0-2) some close losses and keeps most matches close / seem a little gun shy at times if he can open up his offense he gets on the podium

  21. Two-time finalist and 2023 National Champ from Glenville State, Gavin Quiocho, wasn't in the line-up this past weekend. His coach, former WVU NQ Dylan Cottrell, claimed that he struggled to make 133 AND that he lost wrestle-offs to the 141 who took sixth at Super Region III. UW-Parkside took it on the chin from 133 to 157. Then again, that SR might be the toughest in D2, if not the second toughest. Coach Becker has to be feeling the results this morning. New Jersey's brand new program, Felician, qualified two to the tournament. Congrats! American International had their final qualifier this year at 157. Sad to see the program fold. University of Nebraska-Kearney had a GREAT second half of the season and look mighty strong heading into Nationals. Can three-time finalist and 2024 National Champ at 197, Derek Blubaugh from University of Indianapolis, make a fourth finals? First, it was Abney from Central Oklahoma who had his number, and now it may be Logan Kvien of McKendree. Either way, Blubaugh is a monster and a great kid to boot. Congratulations to the 50 teams that qualified at least one guy to the tournament in two weekends! With six-plus teams coming to D2 in the next few seasons, the NCAA might want to look at the structure of the Super Regions. You now have three really strong ones and three SRs which aren't as competitive. The coaches want the BEST kids at the tournament, just like in D1, and not just regional representation.

  25. Dylan Evans at 157 is as fundamental as it gets and has a win over Hip from VT. With the right draw he can make some noise and he is someone that most guys won't want to see

  26. Mark Anthony Mcgowan is my big one kid was as good of a recruit as there was until he had some injury stuff occur his senior year and then he did not wrestle all of last year and the start of this year. Ty whalen has not quite set the world on fire like he did during his red shirt last year but he has wins over parco and watters in the same tournament if he catches fire like he did at midlands he could find himself high on the podium. Mac stout: Not sure if he qualifies he is pretty highly ranked but I dont see anyone talk about him. He lost pretty badly to Beard but I think Bear has an ability to put it on guys if they dont have a feel for his single. He has not lost in a few months and is one hell of a hand fighter which I think is a great attribute late in grueling tourmanets like this.

  31. My guess in terms of what I have read and heard about Trump I'd say 90% of what he copied from someone else is a twisting of facts and situations along with a lot of mental gymnastics turned into innuendo's and pawned off as 100% factual. Second, why do you assume it makes me uncomfortable?? Because I called him out on pretending to have all this in-depth knowledge and individualized thoughts and opinions on Trump?? I get it, he hates Trump...just as you do...why do we need 50 different threads of people with TDS (including you!) saying the same things over and over. Not to mention Trump could cure cancer and you guys would play the mental gymnastics in your head to turn it into a bad thing. Why not just say I hate Trump and everything he does, instead of playing this intellectually weak game of twisting everything he has done, is doing, and is going to do into the worst possible thing to ever happen...and then GASP at the very thought of how someone could ever support him...my response to that...get over freaking yourselves. LOL Finally...show me the hypocrisy, please!!!!! LOL I also find it funny you only seem to comment on HOW people are posting versus sharing any of your own thoughts on the actual topic??

  37. Haven't seen an elite wrestler enjoy the journey as much as Snyder since Dave Schultz. Who else enters multiple events in a given month, let along a week like Snyder did last week? He'll have his ups and downs, like Dave did after 1984, but I'm not wishing him away anytime soon.

  44. I'm having a hard time remembering Shapiro having much difficulty getting out from bottom in any matches (in which he hadn't had a head smack prior). Can you help my memory with instances? Along those lines, has anyone else noticed that he has one foot way to the side when starting from bottom? He's basically already on his feet when the whistle blows. As for the title of this thread, I found this. How *do* you stop it?

I also miss sarcasm in posts or interpret it incorrectly, which is kind of a prerequisite skill to have when interacting on a message board with any level of deftness or nuance.
