I wouldn't consider Tommy and Kevin "trashy" but more like the conversation about wrestling you'll hear at a bar. They have plenty of good interviews, but their banter between the two of them isn't always kid-friendly. This is why the show is labeled explicit and the show notes have a disclaimer in them. It's not a show style I've typically previously included in the network, but with more and more teams doing their own thing, I'm connecting with my friend group to see if there's a benefit to having them included in my network. I may have to add a specific audio disclaimer before their show when it's within my network feed, but if there's other instances you've found on the Mat Talk Podcast Network, I can clearly address those issues @Dark Energy2 points

I have heard Aaron Brooks may move to 197 but kinda hoses down Bernie Truax. Would he have transferred to sit on bench? I doubt he could make 184 again. One would think he was pretty sure Brooks would not go to 197 before he transferred. But who knows. As for Hidlay, when I saw him in Tulsa he didn't look that big (like he needed to move up). Books did. Back to Okie State. My guess is Voinovich transferred because he was not going to start. Tells me maybe Alveraz is at 149 and was clearly better than him in practice. Williams was also likely better than him, so he saw he was going to be 3rd string. That fits with Jamison transfer. Likely was told Young needs redshirt to recover from knee injury and Alveraz was at 149 so at most had to beat out Williams to start. Also fits with Williams being at lower weight class at U20 as he sees he cannot beat out Alveraz and wants to start. Jamison in interview saw he was confident he could AA as beat guys ranked in top 10. Don't know who he beat in top 10 and may be that he felt he was better than Minn's 141 pounder in practice who was ranked in top 10 and was good. Jamison beat Iowa State 141 pounder at Fargo and that kid was in blood round. If I am right, Okie State has is likely to have an AA at 141 and 149.2 points

I am surprised he doesn't do it more. He gave us a free playground. His place. His rules.2 points

I thought that was when she was hurt, no? I thought she played with some ligament issue she played with or...something. I just remember watching(not...willingness, believe me) that story about the Women's Soccer Team and that was part of the story. Maybe it became part of the story after the fact. I really couldn't be less invested though, so don't feel compelled to get back to me on this. I got annoyed with the USWNT when they lied about being paid less than Men.2 points

You’ve actually done a commendable job with not doing that. I’ve participated in other forums where the owner of the forum had a pretty strong agenda towards certain products, ideas, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Unfortunately, he saw it but was blinded by it…. Then he was revved up like a douche… or maybe it was a deuce. And ran in the night or something.1 point

Oregon State Beavers coming in at #15! That's the highest rank we have had in a while... several top 100 guys on there and a few fly under the radar types.1 point

I worked for NCSA within the last year, and I can tell you first hand that they aren't always on the ball. Your best bet is to always head directly to the source and take the time to root around for the answer. That said, the NJCAA site didn't list Pratt CC among their teams with wrestling, and they just finished as team national runner-ups this past season.1 point

Now he can go back to having true “Iowa Style” practices with three hours of live wrestling followed by two hours of buddy carries up CHA steps. When you have this much talent, who cares if you burn out and injure your starters by Christmas. Next man up!1 point

Truax is a natural 184 - he was undersized last season and only bumped up for the sake of the team. He's happy to be back at his natural weight. For the Cowboys, I'm exited to see Jamison1 point

I added Bloodround to the network feed a few weeks ago as the two are friends of mine. Show is labeled explicit. It’s the only show on my network that is. Even has a disclaimer in the show notes. I rarely curse on my shows.1 point

Feels like God has to be 1st. Otherwise...if you've only been religious since you were say...6 and the OTHER guy since he was 4, well, that's an easy call. God's DEFINITELY tilting the scales in the other guys favor. This feels like common sense. What you really need are headphones around the stomach so the child can hear Aaron Brooks speeches in the Womb. Maybe a little air pod in the belly button(if they have an inny and so long as it remains an inny). I now think the list has to be revised. God Celebration PRE-match display of athleticism After that, it's all getting pretty obvious. You need a tribal tat, you need a funny tat on the back. The only way around these are to go to PSU and to have Cael put his hands on you and just ordain you. But I hear that's quite tiring and he can only do it with 3 Wrestlers at a time...so1 point

here's the text nhs67 Northern Oklahoma College Votes to Reinstate Wrestling by Seth Duckworth2 days ago2.3kViews Huge news out of Tonkawa today as the NOC Board of Regents has voted unanimously to reinstate their wrestling program and add a women’s team. Today at 2:00 the Board of Regents for Northern Oklahoma College met in the NOC President’s Conference Room at Tonkawa with the return of wrestling as an agenda item. Alongside a presentation from the athletic director supported by NOC alum Todd Glasgow. This will be the third junior college program in Oklahoma along with NEO and Carl Albert State. It will also be the third women’s college program along with Carl Albert State and OCU. Some logistics are still to be worked out regarding facilities, coaching staff, and other items, but general specifics are in place for an eventual wrestling room and locker room.. The school will start competition in the 2024-2025 school year.1 point

Well both Gilman and Burroughs are World Champions, and they both got beat by guys who have yet to medal or Win at the World Championships. But as one poster said Burroughs is battling Father Time as well as Chance, so I think the bigger upset would be Gilman. But Yianni wouldn’t be that far behind either.1 point

Exactly. He's critical of it now because he's not able to fully utilize it to his advantage. If and when he can, he will.1 point

You are quite dense. So Oregon State doesn't have big donors and no national titles and a new collective, You think Stanford can find some big donors going forward, and get some NIL money in the future? (especially since collective was formed after last years acceptance deadline)1 point

Koll is a bitter man. Everyone knows Penn State wins last year without a single transfer. Moving forward, whether you like it or not, NIL and the Transfer Portal are here to stay. You can piss and moan about it, try to change the system or simply adapt and play the game as it exists. Coaches who adapt to the system will obviously have the best chance to be successful.1 point

Yes to both. #1 in the nation, probably isn't worth as much as the same degree from an Ivy. Yes, I know that UIUC engineering is great, but that Ivy degree and the connections that it brings are likely priceless, (Not to mention if you want to branch out/switch fields....) (And I was also going to mention that there are probably very few wrestlers in these programs)1 point

Tired of these attacks on Cornell. Everyone knows he sent those kids to community college to help them with their education so they could graduate in 7 years.1 point

Coaches use rules to their advantage at every turn in every sport. Ol' Finger Lakes Koll should know that.1 point

Since the NCAA began hosting DI championships, there have only been 11 different team champions. There have been five, one-time winners. Six schools have won 82 of the 87 titles that the NCAA has handed out. Nineteen schools have been runners-up and only nine of those 19 haven't won the title. NIL didn't do that. The transfer portal didn't do that. Wrestling has always been top-heavy and various methods have been used to get to the top of the heap. Koll is a smart guy, but he's spouting off with his sanctimonious nonsense to send a message (also lying) to recruits that he's not going to recruit over you via the portal (which he undoubtedly will, given the chance). Do you really think Koll is going to keep trotting out a team full of guys who can't win in the Pac 12?1 point

Lee over Yianni. Burroughs is getting OLD - though still able to beat most at his weight no matter the age.1 point

Koll’s just being a bit salty, he’s been on this for more than a year talking about “what’s the point,” but at the best programs, the ncaa level is just a training ground for making the world team, considering that we’re in an age of 25 year old seniors who win world medals before winning ncaa’s. I’ll take a stanford degree over NIL eight days a week. He probably does really miss the state school affiliation of cornell right now though.1 point
