And yet the American wrestling' community is fighting the idea of moving the college version to a one semester (spring) sport and finding a solution for the gap between 197 and 285... crazy, man! Craaaaaa-zyyyyy.3 points

Final not-so-secret secret ballot was 86 yes, 112 no. What a bunch of panzies. Vote one way in public and another way behind closed doors (said the anonymous guy on the internet).2 points

Damn it, this was the best bit on these forums, maybe since it started. Why ruin it so fast? Well done, Bob.2 points

Lol...worried education will make kids conservative??? Fine...be mad at that...but then better be extremely mad at the 99% of all other schools that are making kids liberals.2 points

Hope he makes it. I'm taking a shot for every Republican vote that doesn't go his way and I need to work today.2 points

Funny when people ask for examples and when provided completely write them off as one off extreme cases, yet will do the exact same thing when asked to provide examples for their claims. Hypocrisy at its finest And I am on the side of those who think those that dismiss atrocities/abuses to kids and terrorists are scum of the earth2 points

Sounded like he was unsupervised as well. Pretty lame when parents hold their kids back just to be better than other kids, IMO, but not even having the kid repeat the grade and completely withdrawing him from school is wild to me.2 points

Right before your first match. You go through a bullpen that leads to the mats, you step on a scale and have skin and nails check and then go wrestle. You don't make weight you forfeit, this should never happen, as there is a scale to check your weight before you step on the official scale. You essentially stay matside until you bracket is finished. This is not a hypothetical. This is how the large BJJ tournaments work pretty much without any issues. Once you get used to it and get over the way wrestling tournaments work, it makes so much sense and t seems bizarre how stuck people are in the mindset that it cant work. There is still some weight cutting, but not like wrestling. I used to love it when I could tell my opponent was cutting weight, I felt that this was a huge advantage for me. And cutting weight is the worst part of wrestling, not only for the wrestlers but also for the parents and coaches.2 points

Wouldn't true Ai offer your opponent the same detail about you ? And, given your use of trends and tactics and how to attack your opponent, wouldn't AI inform your opponent of how you will be attack and how to counter what is likely to be expected ? It seems to me, that with both using similar strategic programming we would be saddled with an inordinate number of OT's, 1-0, and 2-1 bouts except for those where one opponent is clearly dominant. NCAA championships would become boring.2 points

Bernie- the ‘mass’ firing refers the cancel culture where strangers and acquaintances acted to get people fired because of their beliefs and comments. Often the comments were taken out of context and the mob was miss informed. Gina Carino is a popular example off the top of mind. Here are a few more examples https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/06/stop-firing-innocent/613615/ There are many examples. In the last few years, sharing thoughts with colleagues at work about the Covid policies or anything conservative on Facebook and Twitter was unthinkable for fear of cancel culture. The mob uses pitchforks before the facts are known.2 points

My favorite author, Matt Levine, uses that technique all the time in his writing. He writes about financial topics, an industry dominated by men. It is his way of saying women are capable of anything in the financial field men are, and I enjoy the technique. But here is the thing, you only use it to refer to those you are putting down. You never use the technique otherwise. It makes it impossible not to notice the correlation between calling someone ma'am and putting them down. The correlation between negativity and your use of a female title is perfect, I think. That is why it has the opposite effect of the one you claim.2 points

You're right. Truly random means some monkeys may get it on only a few attempts, maybe even the first. Your second point. Sadly, as most monkey experiments go - the monkey's skull is cut open and the brain is connected electronically to the test equipment. That way the unreliable interface between monkey hands and typewriter is bypassed (and also the unreliable typewriters in general.) Just digital. This could have been the original idea behind the Planet of the Apes.1 point

“There are those”… “It’s been said.” Can you just stop with the weasel words? It’s pathetic. No one is disbarred for being conservative. That would eliminate half of the licensed attorneys in most states. He was recommended for disbarment by a panel of three, unanimously, for pushing frivolous lawsuits and never providing any evidence. That’s exactly what the bar is supposed to do: uphold professional standards and remove those who don’t meet them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

There are those who say a federal judge let her know during insurance fraud proceedings to either withdraw from practicing law or endure license forfeiture, which she did circa 1993 (long before residing in the White House). As for Rudy's hair dye, that's what it looked like to me. He's been disbarred but it's been said that it was a witch hunt for his being a conservative. It's also been said that state bar entities tend to be very politically biased as to whom they pursue. I guess Monica made it too inconvenient for state bar authorities not to pursue Bill.1 point

What are you mad about? Qatar and the US are not releasing the money to Iran right now. The money itself is a South Korean payment to Iran for oil. Even the released money (if it does get released eventually) will not be held in accounts controlled by the Iranian government.1 point

It hurts the athletes, but it also hurts the governments tremendously. In countries that don’t have the sort of athletic infrastructure that the US does, the olympics are professional sports, but more importantly a major rallying point to drum up nationalism and simultaneously drown out domestic issues. This is why the Olympics are so important to a country like China. Olympic success is part of a much more internecine machine that empowers the incumbent rulers and regimes. Countries that are top-down oppressive rely on events like the olympics to serve as justification for rallying cries and domestic propaganda. The olympics are not the same thing to all countries.1 point
