You clearly just saw me post this on X/Twitter and came here to ask the question, already knowing the answer.12 points

Minnesota had 7 wrestlers transfer this off-season that are currently starting on their new team... Spratley (OSU), Nagao (PSU), Jamison (OSU), Polanco (Pur), Lee (IND), Carlson (OU), Kluever (Hof). Michigan had 5 All-Americans transfer in, and yet Minnesota still has a higher ranked dual team. #Development4 points

He never wrestled there, but he was definitely enrolled, and certainly transferred.4 points

Trumble beat the guy who beat Macchiavello at the same Zegrab tournament. The next week, Macchiavello beat Jackson. I don't see how he beats Cox, let alone Snyder. That said, his international results are pretty legit the last six months...3 points

hmm I was quite young for both of them but at least for me personally I remember watching kyle beat david at WTT and that setting up there all star match and from there it was like the talk of the season I dont recall dean vs Nickal having quite the same hype that could have been because dean took losses and nickal lost to myles at that big 10 I believe but I was not present enough on socials to know how hyped up that was.3 points

Amine isn’t in the same universe as Carter Starocci. Mike Amine should just STFU. Cam Amine shoudn't be mentioned in the same thread as Starocci. The only remotely comparable people are KOT and Carter's own teammate, Aaron Brooks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

this should be fun. the only guideline is it has to be something on video that's amazingly stupid. don't start/add something that's just your own thoughts. if you do, you'll be banned for life. i'll start2 points

That OSU match was 1/11/2024 which is more than 20 years ago, but is 20ish years ago. The worst Iowa loss of the past 20 years is that Illinois loss mentioned earlier. The worst defeat of Brands's tenure was 13-29 against Minnesota in Carver Hawkeye on 2/18/2007.2 points

Can anybody top the ILLINI's 2005 win with the score of 25-7? The question is whether PSU has wrestled a dual this season with its full, expected, post-season lineup. 149: #16 Anton Dietzen dec. #5 Ty Eustice (Iowa), 3-2 3-0 157: #2 Alex Tirapelle dec. #7 Joe Johnston (Iowa), 7-5 6-0 165: #4 Mark Perry (Iowa) maj. dec. Cal Ferry (ILL), 12-2 6-4 174: #5 Pete Friedl (ILL) dec. Luke Lofthouse (Iowa), 12-5 9-4 184: #3 Brian Glynn (ILL) dec. #5 Paul Bradley (Iowa), 2-1 12-4 197: #13 Tyrone Byrd (ILL) dec. Adam Fellers (Iowa), 3-0 15-4 Hwt: #7 Matt Fields (Iowa) dec. #14 Mike Behnke (ILL), 6-3 15-7 125: #2 Kyle Ott (ILL) maj. dec. Charlie Falck (Iowa), 14-6 19-7 133: #4 Mark Jayne (ILL) dec. #14 Mario Galanakis (Iowa), 7-5 22-7 141: Cassio Pero (ILL) dec. #11 Alex Tsirtsis (Iowa), 4-3 25-72 points

quick look so definitely could have missed some, Ok St beat them 27-12 '18-'19 season, PSU beat them 28-13 '17-'18 season, back a little further Minnesota beat them 25-9 '05-'06.2 points

Ben said on FRL that once mocco graduates keegan will move up to 174. I dont know if thats just his assumption or if they have talked about it. I would assume he will try and enter the 4x champ category especially since its still only his 5th year since he did not redshirt.2 points

Oregon State University was founded first in 1868 and established a wrestling team in 1909 Ohio State was founded in 1870 and established a wrestling team in 1921 Oklahoma State was founded in 1890 and established a wrestling team in 1916 In any event, it looks like Oregon State should get the OSU name2 points

that would be far and away the biggest match since dake vs taylor and with the prevalence of social media now likely bigger.2 points

Let me start by saying Cox himself was a Mo great, winning 4 titles in different weights and being the first to do so is a huge accomplishment. Winning those in the upper weights where Freshman don’t typically do well is another amazing feat. For TJ, all three high school losses where as a freshman, 4x champ while wrestling up in weight as a Sr and tech falling his opponent in the state finals was something my eyes had never seen before. Not only was he technical but he simple wanted to embarrass everyone he wrestled. He gets my vote as Mo great, not only because of his 4 titles but what he did at Fargo. I’d have to look it up, but he was a countless time champ and runner up at all levels. I believe he won Sr nationals also.2 points

complete incompetence. he campaigned on 'trump will get us into wars' the world senses his weakness.2 points

To my Minny friends, I’ll throw it back to Donny Wichman, longtime Augsburg coach. He was about 6’ as a 105/112 HS. Skinniest wrestler I ever saw. May he RIP.2 points

It is interesting and I have noticed it over the years that Missouri and NC state stand out as the best teams which do not rely on the portal in any significant way. NC State seems to have a very specific type of person they look for (committing to zero tolerance for alcohol even for above aged students during the offseason). Missouri has had the odd transfer here and there, but it doesn't tend to be one of their better guys. NC State is actually a net contributor to the transfer portal in a major way. Seems like either guys get caught with bad behavior and are sent packing or they realize the squad is too deep and want to have a chance contributing somewhere.2 points

I agree, I wouldn't be surprised if Bastida beats Hendrickson at Big 12s.2 points

Pinned it in the first period like every other challenge that thinks it can overcome the force known as Amit Elor. But in all seriousness, the cut has to be tough and I while I understand the business side of things I wish she would have stepped up to battle the GOAT. But methinks there were reasons in the room that said "I'll cut down."1 point

I know, I know, everybody remembers, the whole Cornell team got injured after they all wrestled two duals earlier that day.1 point

Cornell haven't historically been ducks, and they typically go out of their way to have one of the most competitive schedules. However the optics of what occurred that night are hard to explain away.1 point
