Having participated in it I can tell you. 1st couple of sessions were a dual/team tournament, National/World teams from a number of nations (Asia, Europe and the Pans and a couple of US Teams with World/National teamers). Countries would dual each other and the last day was an individual tournament, typically brackets of 8. About 20 years ago it became a junior/U20 event. I believe that ended with COVID or when Mark Halvorson passed away.

Davis is that 3+ year private, with a 4 row rack without a GCM, that no team/squad leader wanted because after everyone was cut on Friday, they knew they'd be in the company office on Monday answering to the Gunny/1st shirt about what kind of F up he was over the weekend and why they had to retrieve him from IHCA or the PMs office.
