There isn't a cap on your screenshot limit, you reached the max for the site. Maybe you should limit the amount of pictures you have of drag queens and you won't use the space up so quickly.

A fair amount of athletes stayed to create New Wave, but Nicky Rod, Nicky Ryan (Gordon's younger brother), Craig Jones, Ethan Crelinston, etc all left to create B Team. Nolf has said he wants to train with both teams as well as Fight Factory (Tackett bros) and even 10P Austin. Interestingly, he said he hoped to help the DDS group toward reconciliation. Right now there are 3 ads on the screen and if I scroll 1 inch 3 more pop up. Its like a computer game trying to dodge the ads. But i don't get any points.

I maybe able to deal with the in thread ads, but getting a new mini pop up video every time I change the page I’m on is a little overkill. Starting to feel like the Flo when I’m trying to watch action during a live event.

This right here, what @Interviewed_at_Weehawken said is spot on. Colleges, Universities, and the NCAA asymmetrically benefitted from a contrived moniker of "amateur" for many decades, using this to pretend that the education they weren't giving their athletes was actually worth something. That entire era was hot garbage for athletes. Schools could and did behave any way they wanted towards their athletes. Administrators weren't and still aren't held to any moral standards or codes, they just get paid to keep the money machine running. Being an AD is really an in-house tv negotiations and PR exec position at the big schools. Maurice Clarett is a perfect example. He didn't play ball with the Ohio State AD, got railroaded out of a very lucrative career bc he wouldn't kiss the ring. Kids are finally getting what they are worth in the market, and institutions which have done everything in their power to arrange asymmetric agreements with everyone they do business with throughout history (hello student loans being resilient to bankruptcy) are just salty they have lost hold of power they once had. TV and the NCAA did a great snow job on us, and yes old school games and matches were fun to watch, but let's not pretend that just bc we like watching college sports that it was any sort of fair and equitable arrangement for the athletes. Our enjoyment and pleasure on saturday evenings in front of the television came at the expense of thousands of young people's health and futures. NIL, while different, does right by the people creating the entertainment product and putting their bodies and their health on the line. That is 100% the way it should be.

At some point, it will calm down, because none of the guys throwing money at the programs are THAT wealthy, I don't think. It's not like a T. Boone Pickens situation. These numbers being thrown around are great for the current athletes that happen to have been in college when this boom happened, but it will taper off.

iPhone, Safari. In-thread ads every 4 posts or so, pop up ads every time I change pages, header ads appear and disappear whenever I scroll down, footer ads do the same. Sometimes the header/footer ads will show up and then change to a new ad which is pretty jarring. in my view, static (non moving) ads are way less annoying than pop ups and disappearing/reappearing ones. Also ads with animation are pretty annoying too.

"Pays the bills"? How much more expensive did access to my eyeballs become over night? I understand the concept of commercials paying for content. Using a historical reference; We used to get 44 minutes of content and 16 minutes of ads for every hour of broadcast viewership. Now the ratio is reversed. Now I come to the forum to see ads for things I don't want or care about and every once in awhile I can get to see something of interest about wrestling and non-wrestling topics.

Like I said, most intelligent people already know what we are getting with Kamala. If you aren't intelligent go ahead and watch the interview and you will be as informed as the pile of oak firewood in my backyard. Your choice.

Well, the transfer portal isn't even a real thing. It is basically "make believe." (how many transfers of athletes "not in the portal" over the past week? More than half a dozen?) The NCAA (and member schools) were unfairly getting rich off of student athletes. Now the athletes get a share. Athlete freedom is a good thing. Unfortunately there are going to be unintended consequences, some of which may be terrible for wrestling. Hopefully the upcoming NIL rules can put the genie back in the bottle, at least a little.

Technically he did score the same amount of team points in 2024 than 2022 (but less than 2023 and 2021). Although not sure if would have been less without 3 point takedown

Seems like that was changed today or yesterday. im in sales. I’m in tech. I know $ is needed to pay the bills. These are so invasive you will lose posters in droves. I got four ads and I can't click the react button. A slight scroll fixes it. I have attempted to click and had an ad pop up on me twice today that redirected me. I can deal with being annoyed if it means we get our forum still.

I cannot even add the pics I added yesterday in the non wrestling topics section…. The thread about ads being out of control. Which has pics I’ll describe below. Someone changed that apparently too……. because they are now to big. Same single screen photos from my iPhone. they consume the screen. They follow your scrolling and annoyingly get clicked way too much. It’s hard to click quote or respond because they are constantly in the way. I can barely see what I’m typing sometimes because it’s u see the darn ads. when you close them the re open. One literally spreads a red square or blue banner across all of the outline of the screen. It’s like the ads are from a used car dealership. They’re awful and will ruin the traffic on this site.

How so? He was 4th at Cal Poly in 2023 and 5th at PSU in 2024. In 2023 he lost to the 2nd place finisher Tanner Sloan and the 3rd place finisher Rocky Elam. In 2024 he lost to the 2nd place finisher Dustin Plott and the 3rd place finisher Trey Munoz. There is no wrestle off between 4th and 5th at NCAAs. So there is nothing to distinguish the placements. He also scored more bonus points at NCAAs in 2024 than in 2023 or 2022 or 2021 when he finished 4th. He had also lost to Trey Munoz back in 2022 whilst at Cal Poly. What makes it objectively worse? Because the brackets were configured a little different and he wrestled the 3rd place finisher earlier? I don't see it. Truax also changed weights when the transferred to PSU. I'd have to think if 184 was his best weight he would have been there in 2023 at Cal Poly. I'm sure the goal was to win an individual national title at PSU, but he also won a team title and to be part of that had to be at 184. Sanderson didn't go from 7th to 6th he went 7th (ISU)->DNP (ISU)->6th (PSU). If he had been 7th the year before transferring to PSU it would be inconsistent, but that's not what happened. Long went from 2nd to 3rd and that's similar to 4th/5th with Truax there is no wrestle off for true second at NCAAs. Moreover the NCAA placement was the only thing that was worse between those seasons. 2010 ISU: 27-7, 2nd Big 12s, 2nd NCAAs at 125 2011 PSU: 20-2, 1st Big Tens, 3rd NCAAs at 133 So he had a better regular season record, won a conference title and was 1 spot worse at NCAAs all at a higher weight. He also scored more team points at NCAAs in 2011 than in 2010. In my opinion there is a better case for him being improved in 2011 than worse.

Yes, guys who enter college rooms get better. But do guys who wrestle in other college rooms get better after they transfer to PSU? Recently examples would suggest no. Truax got better at Cal Poly then transfered to PSU and objectively had his worst NCAA finish. He didn't transfer to PSU to get fifth. Claiming a guy who went from 7th to 6th is an improvement while stating a guy who went from 2nd to 3rd is a no change and 4th to 5th is a no change is not consistent. Sorry you are not cherry picking your selections just being inconsistent with how you apply improved v. no change in favor of PSU. For the record, I think most of them are no change and a podium spot one way or the other isn't inductive of a change. Heck a different ref in the Deprez quarter and Dean would of been a "got worse" when in reality he was about the same, wrested in a different weight class and came out on top before regressing his senior year. I can't believe how much better Cyler's got when he wasn't in the same conference as Jordan Burroughs. His previous coaches must not known anything about wrestling....

I would be interested in his thoughts on NIL. My understanding from the one person I talk to that claims to have an in with the program is that TnT are very uncomfortable with the current landscape (NIL, transfer portal) but want to do whatever it takes to be competitive and win (begs the question, are they THAT uncomfortable with it then?) Gable's rosters were not filled with a bunch of choir boys so I don't think recruiting AJ would be something he would scoff at. AJs actions probably did not impress him much though. All the wrestler interviews I have read or listened to the years, particularly recent ones from Lee, DeSanto, Lugo, Warner, Marinelli, and Kemmmmmmerererer were nothing but effusive in praise for their coaches passion and dedication. Who is requesting they change their actions? Bear in mind, Gable had plenty of mat side antics himself, just not featuring quite as many gesticulations.

They are trying anything to get pushback so they can say Trump is afraid and so Kamala can back out. If you aren't Hellen Keller you know who she is you either can admit it or you are in denial.

All valid points from a viewing perspective, but I think the overall flaw is when watching, we tend to watch freestyle wanting it to be folkstyle. Expecting takedowns to be the same, such as a quad pod. Freestyle is about exposing your back, not about control, which is a crucial element to American folkstyle. it’s the same sport, but to use Olympic parlance, a different discipline. From a viewer perspective, I find riding time to be the biggest detriment to the uneducated sports fan in trying to get them to watch college wrestling. No style is perfect, I just wish more people could appreciate the styles for what they are vs. what they’re not. We don’t do the metric system here but it doesn’t mean it’s worse … imperial is just what we are used to.

My least favorite thing about freestyle is the chest wrap or head pinch off a shot to a cheap tilt to score. Just feels like it’s rewarding bad wrestling and the non-offensive guy. I know that’s technically not true but it drives me nuts watching it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
