  3. Is it really that dumb when 80% of MMA fans support him too, and your fighting style is perceived to be boring by them? They might actually tune in to see him fight now, which is more important in UFC than being a great fighter (and he seems to be a great fighter as well).

  5. He slashed the value of the peso against in the dollar by 50% in his first days in office, which was part of his plan. Millions of people became poorer overnight, which caused many to fall below the poverty line. We'll see how it works out. The effectiveness of "shock therapy" is highly controversial. It also has historically been paired with right-wing authoritarianism to control the social unrest caused by such painful policies for the poor and middle classes. The "Chilean Miracle" under Pinochet is the classic example. Came to power with a military coup in the early 70s (with the aid of the CIA), murdered thousands including the extremely popular elected president, and let the "Chicago Boys," economists from UChicago, take control of the economy. Proponents of shock therapy point to this as an example of its success, but many point out that it was largely unsuccessful until copper and lithium, which Chile had vast reserves of, became far more valuable in the 90's. The other unquestioned effect of this strategy is vastly increased income inequality, which causes its own problems and is unsustainable. If you're looking for a fun read, check out The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein.

  6. And that is the problem. You don't care how others feel. You don't care that you are in the minority. But you should care about the permanent bodily injuries the surgeries and chemicals do to minors. But you don't because you are uncaring. It is not noble to allow someone without proper judgement to do something that will harm themselves. That is the height of cruelty. mspart

  7. TPT There have been no transphobic rants here by anyone. The concern is that you have minors saying they are trans and getting anti puberty drugs which sterilize, surgery which changes things about the body for life. Are minors really emotionally mature enough to make these decisions? If you think so, then it should be legal for them to drink, drive, pay their own way, vote, and buy guns. Obviously those are non starters. So is the transitioning of minors with surgery and chemicals that affect their bodies and well being for life. The surgeries are irreversible. The puberty blockers can cause irreversible sterility. Those don't seem like supportable or sustainable ideas. This should not be political, and I don't think it really is. But leftists have taken this as a cause celebre for some reason and have made this political because no one else supports this. https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2023/05/05/trans-poll-gop-politics-laws/ Clear majorities of Americans support restrictions affecting transgender children, a Washington Post-KFF poll finds, offering political jet fuel for Republicans in state legislatures and Congress who are pushing measures restricting curriculum, sports participation and medical care. Most Americans don’t believe it’s even possible to be a gender that differs from that assigned at birth. A 57 percent majority of adults said a person’s gender is determined from the start, with 43 percent saying it can differ. And some Americans have become more conservative on these questions as Republicans have seized the issue and worked to promote new restrictions. The Pew Research Center found 60 percent last year saying one’s gender is determined by the sex assigned at birth, up from 54 percent in 2017. Even among young adults, who are the most accepting of trans identity, about half said in the Post-KFF poll that a person’s gender is determined by their sex at birth. mspart

  8. 45 will likely as not be dead in a few years. based on health and consumption of diet coke and mcd's. Not a huge fan of the people that will likely try to carry on the policies and ideas that 45 inspired. 45 is just a hateful bigoted person. Not one to be emulated or revered. Just a grifter. Why celebrate it either way? agreed.

  9. Did you think about it for a beat or just throw the question? I apologies. Perhaps you did. Seems evident to force people fleeing for their lives to fight, anyone, let alone professional fighters seems pretty obviously a psychopath's fever dream. So, ya its a bit dehumanizing.

  10. You get paid based on the value you bring to the organization you work for or own. Owners have more on the line so if they are successful, they can make a lot. Workers that are more productive should get paid more. Period. This is not racist. It is reality. You'll notice I didn't state any skin color or sexual preferences. Workers that are more productive should get paid more. Period. mspart

  11. That's what Trump is doing. All Biden has is personal attacks on Trump and other scare tactics. He's a threat to democracy. He will make abortion illegal nationwide. Biden has no policy he can point to and have people believe they are better off because of it. Good call there TPT. Biden policies: 9-16 year olds can't own guns or vote, but they are emotionally mature enough to go trans and get drugs and surgery to help. And no one should get in the way of that. SEE Biden DOJ efforts regarding recent Tx childrens hospital revelations. Open Borders. Biden lies and says they are not open, but your eyes tell you something different. NY and Chicago mayors tell you something different. TX and FL busses to sanctuary cities and states tell you something different. Increase violent crimes from illegals tell you something different. Inflation reduction act only increased inflation. It was a huge printing of money with no real goal. Case in point - EV charging stations https://www.politico.com/news/2023/12/05/congress-ev-chargers-billions-00129996 none are happening and this has cost Billions. EV cars are not good even though there are federal funding encouraging purchases. These help the rich who are the only ones that can afford them. And they are not happy now. No one is happy. Inflation and economy. Biden can only say that inflation is not what it was before and everyone should be feeling better. Prices have not come down and Ds just can't understand why their message is not getting across. Just a few examples. mspart

  26. It is a risk. If the US isn't invited maybe he could apply to participate as a neutral athlete represent AIN or something? Though I don't think any nations weren't invited the last time. It could be a compelling competition at least in terms of wrestling. None of the men's freestyle gold medalist from the 2021 Olympics will be in Paris. It's possible 3 (Uguev, Sidakov, and Sadulaev) will be at this.

Imagine if we send A-list athletes. We'd have to trade Hunter Biden to get JB back. It would be worth it, yeah, but still.

  30. Fried pinned Tom at Midlands his sophomore year at OSU, and he also teched Tom in 87 at junior nationals 16-0. Overall though Tom has more wins against Alan. I think it was the first year Alan won junior nationals (won it 4 times), he had both nofd the Brands and Lincoln McIlravy in his bracket.

  32. You are trying too hard to make a dumb argument which is making you look dumb. For example, you do not pay any more for air conditioning if there is one more person in the house, ditto for internet. If you already own the games you don't pay again to use them. And his grandfather trained him so there is no incremental costs there either. And of course, you ignore that their decisions led to a scholarship, NIL, and other opportunities. 40. I read it a little differently. trump wants the immigrants to fight UFC Champions so the immigrants are all beat to shit! Whether you consider that dehumanizing or not, it's at least cruel and inappropriate. Most of the immigrants are families looking to find a new life and make a living in America.

  47. It is an acknowledgement that racism exists. I am not at all dismissive of hard work. I am dismissive of this guy who is too dumb to know he is being played. He clearly does not know the person taping him well enough to know what her agenda is, but he is going to talk freely to her over drinks. Sounds exactly like every guy who has ever gotten passed over for a promotion. It is never due to their shortcomings, like being too dumb to know that you are being pumped for information while being secretly recorded on a device sitting on the table immediately in front of you. It is always someone else's fault. Like the guys who blame the ref.
