  2. I know I'm wasting my breath here, but you have a 6 lose freshman returning against either Aaron Brooks or Carter Starocci as a part of a good chance to win four? When I am looking for a good place to eat in Lincoln, I will not be asking you.

  3. What's not in dispute is most of the documents at Mar A Lago were kept in an unsecured storage area with video surveillance showing people coming and moving boxes around. What's also not in dispute is Biden giving the documents up instead of obstructing and making the FBI get a search warrant.

  5. My girlfriend in college was always asking me to demonstrate the turk on her, she'd belly down on the bed and say, "Please show me that turk move, MedicineMan." I had to oblige. I never used it in a match though. I still have a photo of her. Good memories...

  6. While this cart is a couple of months ahead of its horse, I'll bite on the question, which at first I thought was silly - Dake, of course, but the more I thought about it, even though I am still firmly Dake, you can make some interesting arguments for Lee. As I've argued in lots of these threads, I've got Dake as my best ever because no redshirt (won a title nine months after being a high school student), beat three different champs and a terrific wrestler (2x finalist, probably should have been 3x but for refs) in his finals, well in control of all his NCAA matches, went up a weight and went 3-0 against the defending and future Hodge winner, etc. Though I've never understood why the usual first argument people make is the 4 weight classes in 4 years. It's a nice nugget, but it's more trivia than substance; he won four championships against people who weighed the same, it's not like he made weight at 141 the day he beat Taylor. Lee has had several losses, including being pinned once, losing to Ronnie Bresser once, and getting outwrestled by Sebastian Rivera twice (and having Mueller take care of him before there could be a third meeting), and hasn't beaten competition as strong as Dake's in his finals. He's missed a ton of matches with injuries. The body of work isn't really comparable to Dake. But there are some notable intangibles. He's put together a terrific record, with what I do think is going to end up with 4 titles, by overcoming a ludicrous series of major injuries, surgeries, and illnesses -- the depth of which are totally unchartered territory in the four-timer club (maybe even the two-timer club, any historians with a view on this?). And in the limited windows when he's been fresh, he's been simply transcendent -- a comet lighting up huge crowds at NCAAs and Carver; always attacking; scoring, scoring, scoring; technically beautiful; insanely strong. He generates a buzz like no one else because he's got talent and skill like no one else. And he'll probably end up with three Hodges. I wouldn't put him as my top 4 timer over Dake but I've got him in kind of a special exciting anti-wuss club of his own.

The rigged election lies Trump created compounded with the insanity and passion he attracts is going to leave severe damage in its wake. Unfathomable. Not only does the growing list of terrorist incidents(this, the MI attacks on the governor, J6 and more) fail bring the mainstream GOP to reality, they double down.

  9. Christian Pyles (of FLO) interviewed the Penn State Coach after his team won Southern Scuffle in 2015. PSU won with Jason Nolf, Zain Retherford, and Bo Nickal, among others, as redshirts. Sanderson turned a question/suggestion back on CP about the plan for the season. As someone at FLO put it at the time, "If you listen close enough, you can hear CP shaking in his shoes.": https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/5051366-the-top-5-scariest-things-in-wrestling

  10. I personally think Hawks would start. He just beat Short of Wyoming who was HM ranked for a time. But he majored Deanthony Parker of NDSU... Who Harmon lost to. His loss to Joel Devine is irrelevant since he was going to be behind Marcus Coleman anyway. Hawks has enough matches vs. DI and may qualify the spot. in the next few weeks he has #17 Cade King (SDSU), HM Keegan Moore (OU), #12 Travis Wittlake (He lost 2-0 @ Scuffle) and #4 Coleman. If he wins one of those he will probably be an automatic bid earner and be seeded top 4 to 5. If he wins two he is probably 3rd seed at Big XII. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

  12. Minnesota is off to a rough start. Even after accounting for the loss of Gable Steveson, they are lagging well behind pre-season expectations. They came into the season ranked 7th by Intermat (using expected points, not max points), 9th by Flo, and 12th by Wrestlestat. They are now ranked 19th by all three services. Meanwhile, the corn is sweet in the land of Lincoln, with 2 of three services now projecting a podium finish. Nebraska scored 48 points at the last NCAA tournament and were projected to score between 33 (Wrestlestat) and 45 (Intermat) advancement and placement points this season. Their new projections are all around 23 points.

  14. Lee won't bump up. And if he does, he loses. Historically speaking RBY is a much, much better version of the type of wrestler that has given Lee issues: Seabass, RB3. RBY would evade for much of the first, put together a flurry of action in the last 30 seconds of the 1st period and take Lee down and ride him out. In the second, Lee won't be able to ride RBY much less turn him in the 2nd period. By the 3rd period, RBY slaps on a western hook and gets his minute of riding time and then cuts Lee loose. Spencer is so tired by then his feet stop moving. RBY wins a controlled 4-1. *For all the naysayers -RBY doesn't get tired..ever. RBY hasn't been close to being ridden..ever in the last 3 years. RBY is calculated with his attacks and has an extremely high finish rate. He took 1 shot on Fix and finished it. He could have taken Fix down whenever he wanted. -Spencer does get tired. Spencer does struggle with incredibly fast & athletic wrestlers. 125 might be the weakest weight in NCAA outside of Spencer And then lastly, the coaching is going to make a difference. One team has shown time and again an ability to create a game plan and execute, while the other team/coaching staff has shown zero ability to do so.

  15. I'm sorry that your cousin had to go through that. It must have been unbelievably hard for her whole family. I don't know exactly how this bill would handle her situation. My hope would be that it allowed her to make the horrible choice she had to make, just as she did, with her doctor, her loved ones and no interference from politicians. My answer to your last question is this, not all doctors and mother's are as compassionate as your cousin. People can be extremely selfish and stupid. I have a niece with disabilities, her parents could've made a decision similar to your cousins. Luckily for my niece her parents might actually be angels for the level of care they continue to give her, 19 years later. She wasn't nearly as bad off with the few details we have both shared but she is the sweetest person you could meet and she has a right to life. This is not meant to disparage your cousin, because making the choice she had to make I have a tremendous amount of respect for her too. I want less government in my life, so these kind of questions really make me think. I still don't know how I feel about this bill but in general, I would err on the side of life.

  16. People are counting Lee's chickens way before they are hatched. Glory is on a vision quest. 24/7, He walks around with a copy of The Art of War that Sun Tzu personally autographed for him 2 years ago. He has chapter 6 bookmarked and reads it every morning and night.

  18. It’s Iowa’s only real chance to win the dual. They can throw in Ayala to get the major at 125. Even if Lee loses by dec, it is a wash, but if he wins Iowa can pull off the upset. This should happen. I realize there are lots of excuses in the Iowa camp why it won’t happen. Lee has only been back from injury for a few weeks; he is too small; it might hurt his confidence for NCAAs; it hurts his legacy. But about that legacy. How does Lee want to be remembered? As the guy from the other weekend, who got salty at his coaches for having to wrestle a teammate, and bow isn’t willing to bump up to help his team win a dual? Or as the “excuses are for wusses” guy who put it on the line for glory and a big dual win? It’s their last year. Their last big dual. They can mail in techs or they can do something memorable — for the ages. It would be a new record for the most NCAA titles on the mat at the same time. I’m sure RBY would welcome it. What about you Spencer?

  19. Yeah, but its puppy love. That said, it feels like Wrestlestat has been the most accurate so far. I haven't done the math yet (stay tuned), but it seems like they have had the least volatility to their rankings. They have had the fewest of their pre-season #1s take an L.

  20. 100% this. Boxers used to go up in weight class without gaining weight to have multiple belts at the same time (Sugar Ray Leonard against Hagler for one notable example). Maybe there is some reflex memory is us old guys brains that automatically thinks going up in weight class is impressive

  23. The leg turk is a simple step though on the bottom leg after the takedown and is perfectly legal and should be kept that way. Many moves can be used to injure and opponent - that is why they have potentially dangerous calls. Wrestling is hard.

  26. Ok...so what is the child is born with horrific birth defects and they're not going to make it? Do they intubate? Try and keep them alive as long as humanly possible? My Cousin...4 kids at the time, had her 5th. About 6 months in found it it wasn't viable. There was a CHANCE it would be born alive, but it was NOT in good shape. She had the option of aborting it, she chose not to, gave birth, it was alive and they asked if they wanted to put it on a ventilator, etc... My Cousin said no because it was just cruel. I don't recall what exactly the disorder was, but it had an organ on the outside, it had certain parts of his body only partially developed and it was in agony. But they COULD have kept it alive for a few weeks maybe. Is THAT what this bill advocates? Why are they so concerned with dictating what a Doctor and a Mother choose to do?

  32. RBY is wrestling a light schedule and if he is going to make a run at 2024 it will need to be at 57kg. Start practicing now. Owings went down to find Gable. It's a shame RBY wasn't confident enough in himself to do the same. He's already beat Fix so another title at 133 isn't going to change his legacy. Makes you wonder if Cael is protecting his ego.

  33. Lee and brands want nothing to do with this match. Rby would destroy Lee and possibly break him (literally) in the process. If Lee were healthy it would be a fun match, but I'd still favor rby.

  34. The OP's premise was that Iowa might need this to win the dual, not that either wrestler was on a vision quest.

  35. The only way Lee ever gets on top would be to pick top which is likely since he would be trailing and extremely tired by the time the choice was offered. RBY is stronger (by a large amount) than these 125 lb. guys he is turning. If Lee himself thought he could win 133 this year he would be there because it would be so much better for his team. Drake would be a high AA at 125 this year and it would steal a title from PSU at 133. It would give Iowa a real chance in the team race. Add about 15 points to themselves and take a few from PSU.

  36. RBY would kick the sh_t out of Lee. Too big and too fast. He is bigger, stronger, faster, and of similar skill sets. Now if you sucked RBY down to 125 that would be a completely different thing. Lee wins a close decision.
    1 point
  37. If RBY wanted the match, he would have made the cut in the off season to certify at 125. He knew where Lee would be.

  38. Meh. The injury default loss that DeSanto took was shameful but, 1) RBY has never done that to anyone else, 2) Austin shot in at least 15 times after the injury and the situation never recurred, 3) Lee and Austin are not comparable wrestlers. Lee finishes his shots differently than Austin. He would not find himself in the same predicament

  39. In the multiple other threads about this, I said that there’s no way in hell TnT are throwing their golden boy out there to get his knee destroyed by RBY. Think about it. A guy that didn’t give up a single offensive point to Desanto or Fix in 8 total matches against the two of them in the last two years. Who specializes in grabbing the foot or ankle of his opponent after mashing their face into the mat. With what I’m guessing is 6” of wingspan advantage and is likely the fastest person in the NCAA, and not weak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
