PSU will have 2 senior world team members and 6 Senior national team members on their NCAA roster. When was the last time a team had as many? Additionally they have 4 other wresters on age group world teams: Blaze (61kg U20), Duke (70kg U20), Henckel (79kg U20), Connor Mirasola (92kg U20), Cole Mirasola (125kg, U20), Welsh (86kg U23) and Welsh is also on the senior ladder somewhere having finished 5th at senior nationals 86kg. They will also have 2024 61kg world champ Masanosuke Ono and Joe Sealy who was 3rd at the U20 trials in the room. A crazy accomplished team in freestyle. 57kg Lilledahl 2nd 61kg none (Blaze 4th) 65kg Marcus Blaze 3rd 70kg PJ Duke 1st 74kg Mesenbrink 2nd 79kg Haines 1st 86kg None (Welsh 5th at senior nationals) 92kg Barr 2nd 97kg None 125kg None2 points

I have no idea but I’m sure people said they same exact thing when Synder took out Varner for the spot ,PJ Duke was in high school literally last week , he ll have the next few months to train with team USA and the NLWC and there isnt really any tape on him for people to gameplan against and I’m sure he ll wake up tomorrow more confident then he’s ever been, the sky is the limit for him right now yianni clearly out wrestled him in match 1 but duke scored 15 straight on him in match 2 and match 3 they wrestled close until Duke pinned him off a single ,something u see in JV match so I think they were equal today if anything not hating on yianni it just seems disrespectful to the guys that beat him that it always get written off like yianni just had an off day or something and not the other just going and taking it2 points
-
For the last 7 years every time yianni loses it’s the same story , oh he was the better wrestler , oh he would ve medaled but the other guy won’t , he’s made 2 teams in 7 years and medaled once ..every time he loses people just make the same excuses2 points

PJ Duke, are you kidding me, wow! I thought that Yianni’s experience would prevail but obviously PJ had other plans. Congrats to him. I like the youth movement, I think it’s kind of exciting.2 points

i was hoping this thread was going to be about can we all agree shooting someone over politics is bad.2 points

His act can be funny but also a bit cringe, but...he's doing more good for people and the sport than almost anybody with his free camps program.2 points

Dake is old. He is older than Saitiev was when he retired. But he wants that olympic gold, the holy grail of wrestling, to complete his career. Dake made the calculation that a 37 year old him will have a better chance winning at 86 kg than 74. He's probably right, but I don't think he'll win at 86 kg either. He choked at the Paris olympics. That was his chance. I think he'll just have to be content as one of the many great wrestlers who never won the olympics. The sport may force him out soon.2 points

Not the team trying to bunt in their last at bat, down big. The IQ of a newt. The only way the Ds are going to win is if they trot J.D. Scholten out there.1 point

I wouldn’t say those are excuses. I think Yianni looked like the better wrestler but he made some sloppy mistakes. Duke capitalized so he was the better wrestler today. I think we all just see the potential in Yianni and it’s frustrating to see him lose matches that it appears he could’ve won. Doesn’t take away from Duke at all! What he did was amazing! He’s the future here and I’m excited to see what he can do.1 point

Your grandfather sounds like a hardworking, well-educated (largely self-educated) man. Too bad his apple fell off the tree, rolled down a hill, then off a cliff, and into a ditch full of hate toward strangers.1 point

Do you really think after those 3 matches PJ will do better against the field? If you do then I can not refute you I think yianni out wrestled him for the most but I absolutely think pj is the future.1 point

Thoughts: --Lee looks as good as ever. Not as quick, but yet he outwrestled Luke in neutral. Expected him to dominate on top, but thought Luke would be closer on his feet. --Woods' style seems to have really opened up. Mich was a good move. Don't see him medaling but you never know. Feel for McKenna. Yianni should've been here. --Holy cow, PJ. Does this settle the "best high schooler of all time" debate? Knocks off 2 defending NCAA champs and now a 4x'er. I guess Jax may have something to say in a month. That said, Yianni looked small. He should be at 65kg. --Carr got it done. Could easily have gone the other way. The cut in Mesenbrink's head was probably his biggest enemy as it caused lots of stoppages. Carr's just so quick though, and if he can keep his conditioning in top form, he can keep winning this matchup. Carr can medal. --Levi looks good and methodical, but I'm not sure I see a medal. Dake should be here. --Really happy for Zahid. He's really putting it together and you can tell how he's improved with Taylor. His conditioning is better too. Dake has no business being here. That's 2 world teamers that we lost because they're too lazy to cut weight. Sorry not sorry. --What a war. Psyched for Trent. Good battle. Trent can medal. --Snyder looks smooth, though I'm not sure Zillmer had much for him. --Wyatt got exposed there a bit. He can medal but needs to tighten up a bit. He's not going to be able to gut guys at worlds like that. Fun though. 2nd match, and 2nd match of PJ/Yianni, were ones for the ages. (Side note: CP needs to learn the difference between a 4-pointer and a 5 pointer.)1 point

There is a video recently I think in front of congress. Asking Tim Walz did you say you would invest in a 30 foot ladder factory ….. if they built a 20 foot wall. This man was almost our vp lol its not that he lies… its how bad of a lier he is. He is a horrid actor. 0 accountability for anything he says or does. It’s mind boggling how bad ALL politicians are to the American people. link of it below. I love the internet. They side by side him lying first…. Then they show what he said. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1B3v4jDPu9/?mibextid=wwXIfr1 point

I'd take Williams at 149. I think Brands might use one of Ludington's dates for this one but Elam should still win if healthy. If Caliendo goes 157, that would make a big difference1 point

125: Poulin dec. Peterson (3-0 ISU) 133: Ayala dec. Frost (3-3) 141: Frost dec. Bailey (6-3 ISU) 149: Echemendia dec. Either (9-3 ISU) 157: Johnson dec. Whoever (12-3 ISU) 165: Caliendo tech Riggins (12-8 ISU) 174: Kennedy/Arnold maj. Gaitan (12-12) 184: Ferrari dec. Dean (15-12 Hawks) 197: Elam dec. Endine (15-15) 285: Bastida dec. Kueter (18-15 ISU) 125, 133, 141, 149, 157, and HWT seem like highly competitive match-ups. 6 match-ups without heavy favorites in such a competitive dual is a lot of fun. This should be an awesome dual if both teams are healthy.1 point

The video you posted brought up gay marriage. In the 3 minute video it was one of the few specific points she made. -She doesn’t like that the school thinks things are going well or wants to protect people from hurtful words -She thinks they should focus more on preparing children for careers and improving their end-of-grade testing -Less than 5% of people identify as LGBTQ. -More than 50% of people believe in God, who made marriage between a man and a woman. -She demands that the “children who fear god” be protected, whatever that means1 point

If you’ve seen my other posts, I often disagree with most people that would consider the NY Post a trustworthy source in general. But I like to post links from there if it can prove them wrong, because they would often just dismiss the evidence if it was from a left-leaning source. But generally speaking I’ll read almost any source, and look at each article individually. If the article sources it’s claims, preferably to primary sources, as this one did, then I’ll generally find it trustworthy.1 point

Don't be an obvious tool. You posted "suicide is the most selfish thing, sorry to disagree." Scroll up, you posted it yesterday at 12:05 PM. It is exactly 8 posts above this one. Trying to attribute it to me is beyond pathetic. You are truly despicable.1 point
