  1. Take inspiration from Banana Baseball. It is the most fun baseball event I've attended, and some of their rules should be merged to the MLB. Banana Wrestling The match can consist of five 72 second periods. The winner is chosen based on most periods won rather than the total points scored. This makes it so one bad period doesn't cost the match. A tech or pin wins the period, not the match. Intentional mat fleeing results in the immediate loss of the period. Stepping out of bounds twice in a match results in the passive wrestler wearing a "COWARD" bandana for the match remainder. During the activity clock period, the passive wrestler scores points as normal. The aggressor has a Golden scoring opportunity where all points are doubled. A wrestler put on the activity clock two times in the match is immediately disqualified. The match is over when a wrestler reaches wins 3 periods, after 5 periods are completed, or when a wrestler is disqualified. More can be discussed here with regards to bonus for winning a period by pin or five+ points. Add some humorous penalties for passivity or lost challenges. You win the tiebreaker by escaping the banana splits... Things that engage the crowd... It hurts me to predict that standard wrestling will not bring the revenue to keep RAF going. This has been tried before... If following the International Freestyle rules, I have one request. Consistently enforce the passivity rule by always calling passivity on the truly passive wrestler, regardless of how many times it occurs within a period or match. Eliminate the practice where the non-passive wrestler is penalized for passivity in the first period, followed by the passive wrestler being penalized in the second period.

  2. Exactly the same as UWW Freestyle. Sorry, but why do I want to see the best in the US wrestling another different style. If they are doing a different style than what the best in the world does it is a gimmick.

  3. Thanks, friends. Unfortunately, this forum loads very slowly for me. I’m not exactly sure what the problem is. It might be that the forum is hosted on a server that restricts access for Iranian users due to U.S. sanctions. Emojis don’t load for me either, so I can’t use them to react to your posts and show my appreciation. Yes, here in Iran we know that the ayatollahs are extremely deceptive and cowardly, and they avoid real war. But the reason is that they know any real war would inevitably draw the United States into the conflict. In reality, they fear America — not Israel. Another reason the ayatollahs avoid war is that they do not have the full support of the Iranian people. They face significant opposition inside the country — people like me, for whom today, with the killing of military commanders and regime loyalists, has been one of the best days of our lives. So in the event of a real war, there’s a real chance it could spark a civil war, and that would mean the end of the regime. On the other hand, Israel wouldn’t have launched such an attack without U.S. backing either, because the Islamic Republic has the potential to strike Israel from several countries. Southern Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and large parts of Iraq are under the control of Iran’s Quds Force, and the ayatollahs could launch attacks from these regions. Israel has little to no influence in these areas (except for southern Lebanon), so in order to prevent such attacks, it relies on U.S. air power, American influence in the region, and especially intelligence provided by U.S. agencies. It doesn’t really matter whether Trump denies it or confirms it. He’s just as clueless as the ayatollahs in Iran. But like any world leader, he definitely has advisers who tell him exactly what lies to tell. I think it’s time to get rid of the Ayatollahs once and for all. As I’m posting this, the sounds of missile impacts are being heard in Tehran—two loud explosions in quick succession. The internet might be completely cut off soon. For now, goodbye—hoping for freedom.

  4. it's going to be UWW FS rules with some exceptions. i'm gonna do away with amplitude as criteria. last point scored is the only tie breaker. no one - not the athletes, fans, or coaches - wants to spend the last 30 seconds calculating. there's going to be 8 weights. closely aligned w/ existing UWW weights.

  11. Out of bounds is lava. Literally. Challenge brick is an actual brick. Corner initiating a review must strip down to underwear, Mongolian style, until a decision is rendered. Wrestlers get to choose their opponent's walk-out music. Interlocking fingers: 1st time is warning. 2nd time, wrestlers hands are duct taped together for the rest of the match. Replace criteria with golden score overtime, but with Doja Cat blasting so they get it over with ASAP.

  12. It would be great to get rid of the challenge brick, or if necessary, limit review time. I understand the importance of getting the right call made, but it's a killer as it is right now. Also, I understand it's Real American Freestyle, but it'd be cool to mix in some foreign stars. Additionally, the market in some of these countries for PPV or whatever is massive. Money talks, both to get the foreign wrestlers and the international audience. Finally, to appeal to a broad audience (other than folks on here, who would watch anyway regardless), I think you have to have storylines. Casual fans need to feel connected and invested in the wrestlers, and if RAF believes in their mission statement (on their website) to, "create a platform for elite athletes to compete in front of millions of fans," that doesn't happen is a peripheral sport like wrestling unless there are storylines.

  14. Like when they sponsored a raid against an Iranian music festival and walked down the street killing people and stealing their stuff as trophies? Or when they armed resistance groups in all Iran's surrounding countries to create unrest and terrorism? If Israel had Iran's mentality Iran would have been gone years ago.

For the record, I don't recall Askren saying anything about the vaccine, but...I also don't care as he doesn't have the state initials for Maryland in front of his fckn name, so...I don't care what he says about vaccines.

  30. I really don't know about the dual. OSU and Fresno wrestled a dual on 1/31/1998 in Stillwater. OSU won 39-4. I couldn't find individual results for that match, but based on the team score it's theoretically possible either wrestler won though I reckon it's less likely Abas beat Moore by bonus to get 4 than Moore winning a regular decision. The All-Star match was on 2/2/1998 in Buffalo, NY. Perhaps neither wrestled in the dual electing to postpone the match two days?

  32. I wasn't making a moral judgement ("how could this happen to such a good person....."). I'm not that naive. I was more pondering the biological mechanisms of his conditions, since it seems that he either has something very rare or was just very unlucky. If Ben had gotten cancer, I would not be surprised at all. I think cancer is still like the 4th biggest killer in young adults.

  42. Only 3 wrestlers have won more than a single title at 149 this millennium. Metcalf did it 2 times in his three years of eligibility. Retherford did it 3 times, and Yianni did it twice. Don't forget this little nugget about the 2008 weight class that Brent won..

  48. The effort to convert males to females, and females to male, (called the transexual movement) has nothing to do with androgeny. Androgeny is a different thing. To bring that into this discussion is intellectually dishonest because everyone knows what the subject of discussion is and that ain't it. Tripnsweep is from AZ. I am from WA and a boy just won the girls 400 meter state championship for the 2nd year in a row. Maybe the bigger question is why are there boys and girls sports in middle and high schools and men's and women's sports in the college level? Why was this done? And is it proper to then allow for boys that say they are girls to compete with girls and men who say they are women to compete with women? Equally, is it proper to allow the opposite? Bringing in androgeny is the last gasp of a lost cause. That clearly is not the issue at hand. Again, it is intellectually dishonest to even attempt to do so. mspart
