um, they did a lot more than that. you just don't focus on it because you're looking for anything to blame. they canceled contracts and leases, they removed superfluous funding, the deleted duplicate payments, etc, etc. they saved billions in about five minutes and yet you're kicking and screaming over efficiency and transparency.

Zeke has done an incredible job at ASU. They were probably the best team on the west coast in the last 20 years before the Sunkist money went away and Iowa poached their top 2 wrestlers. If Figs, Parco, Teemer, and Schultz were still on that roster, this conversation wouldn't be happening. Not to mention Larkin. IMO the biggest concern is the amount of injuries that occur under his watch. It could be coincidence, but ASU has been ravaged by injuries for several years now.

I don't know about that. Hendrickson finished 2023 with pinfalls over Lucas Davison and Skinny Tony Cassioppi at NCAAs. I wasn't willing to look up the weights of anyone else, but I suspect the 25 pinfalls and 8 techs since then have been against a variety of shapes and sizes.

Coach Ryan has been gently leaking this expected outcome for about a month now. This is what's best for Ohio State. Anyone close to the program knows that Paddy, Sammy and Cannon have all had a lot to overcome and are warriors. We celebrate Sammy and move on to cheering for Paddy and Cannon going forward.

Hendrickson is one of those guys where if he's even marginally better than you, it's bonus time. And I think he's markedly better than Kueter. I think he's going to pour it on, and ends it before 7:00 of match time has expired. Tech or pin.

I’m not saying I disagree, but I am curious what Ferrari has done in a lot of people’s eyes to have him capable of beating Plott. In his match against Starocci I saw a lot of sitting on one knee and fighting out of takedowns from the splits. Plott is approaching severely underrated territory imo. Disagree on point 2. I would put McEnelly in that category and think he can beat Plott. Sure, Arnold took him to OT, but Arnold is difficult to score on and has a style that lends itself to close matches.

There have been a lot of good duals this year where the dual outcome was not in doubt but had a lot of toss up matches. This dual does not seem to have a lot of toss ups, but the dual is a toss up with bonus points likely deciding the difference. Just interesting to me.

There can be more than two guys who are considered title contenders... So far Ferrari has shown he can keep Starocci from getting a takedown. If he then shows he has the offense to beat Plott convincingly, then of course he should be considered a title contender

I think the Brands care about winning duals and we see Ferrari. I think #1 win dual #2 protect seeds for Big10 tourney. #3 the dual has priority over load management. I think they save his RS unless he techs Plott and in no uncertain terms makes his feelings known that he wants to compete this year. If Angelo is happy Iowa is happy. Angelo is getting these matches because it serves #1 and #2

I just did a speed run of the ASU/Oklahoma match. Good lord, ASU is a shell of it's former self. It is really starting to feel like the whole program is going down the drain. Just dead in the water, no momentum, and it feels like something bigger than a head coaching issue. How long do we think before we find Zeke heading up a program with more institutional support? He's never been one to stick around a stagnant or unsupportive institution. And now that his only athlete of any real reputation has jumped ship, it feels like it's time for some turnover.

No. What is the difference between 2 and 3 losses? He's currently an 8-12ish type seed (with losses to 2 guys that are in the 6-8 range) and a third loss to the inevitable 3 seed won't do anything to change that.

A loss to a higher ranked wrestler would not drop him further for seeding purposes.

No. Most were AWA attendees well before high school. Also, right now I'd give the edge to Max (Mequon/North Shore location) as far as D1 wrestlers. But all these kids have been training with each other for a long time. It's not surprising that Mesenbrink's closest match recently was with Scoles. Agreed on the "late bloomer" stuff, too, with some of these guys. Scoles would've whipped Mesenbrink in high school. Aeoden Sinclair or Connor Mirasola would've whooped Keckeisen in high school.
