In 1979 Andy Daniels from Ohio University was unseeded at 118 pinned John Azevedo in 30 seconds to win The NCAA title. Andy wrestled at an inner-city high school in Akron ,Ohio. His senior year at 98 pounds he finished 6th in the state. My high school competed against his school.6 points

The semifinals at 157 in 2009: Jordan Burroughs versus Gregor Gillespie on the top side of the bracket, Mike Poeta versus Jordan Leen on the bottom. We were lucky that nobody died from simultaneous double leg attempts.4 points

The 7 seed has made the finals 12 times since 01 and has faced the #1 seed every time and lost. Thus, the 7 seed needs someone on the top side to knock off the 1 seed so they can beat a lower seed in the finals.4 points

Made me think of Garrett vs Delgado NCAA final. Not both great double leggers, but Nahshon hit some incredible double leg shots, and Delgado funked out of them all. Delgado would probably lose with todays rules, neutral danger etc, but I'm def watching this match now. https://youtu.be/7zaLdXWLgSQ?si=tVadmbpfDVotuXrS4 points

YOY Changes: Big 12 with 8 fewer spots than last year, including 3 fewer at 285. EIWA picks up 8 spots, with 3 more at 184. Pac 12 (+5 spots), and (ACC -5) spots were the other big winner and loser. Only five weights maxed out the pre-allocated spots this year (149, 157, 174, 197, 285). 125 and 141 with the most At-Large spots (6)3 points

You made sense until your 4th paragraph. The conspiracy theories you decry are all against the Ds. So what that says is that what you wrote before holds little water. I'm just reading what you are writing and inferring what anyone would. You have your opinion, good for you. But you seems to be trying to have it both ways. "I am not for or against R or D. But by golly those conspiracy theories against Hillary are just too much." I don't see you giving Trump the same benefit of the doubt that you are giving Hillary. And therein your disguise is blown. mspart3 points

I think it is more along the lines of overcompensation for being so underwhelming in other, more personal areas. The guy is a jealous little child and can't stand when he isn't the center of attention. That is why he blocks anyone who calls him out on his lack of testicular fortitude... because he has none. All three of those are also scientific fact when speaking about said Minnow.3 points

Completely agree. Today was one of the worst episodes in quite sometime. I generally don't mind the banter, but today it felt like at least 50% filler hot garbage.2 points

It’s bc they let Ollie on the show. He single handedly causes everyone to lose focus. As soon as I see him I know it’s going to be nothing but Long Island “jokes” and Bs about his personal life. As an Ollie hater, I must admit, the flo guys must like him with how much they feed off his distracting energy. But he make for terrible radio when he’s on bc no one can focus on the show. My favorite saying from my father....if you aren't liberal until you are 30 you don't have a heart, if you aren't conservative after 30 you don't have a brain. This is exactly how it worked out for me ironically. I use to be a bleeding heart liberal all through college until I got out in the real world. The first thing that had me starting to turn more conservative was my first job out of college was at a hospital and I was forced to be in a union...wow that was eye opening...working in a very important/huge patient impact if there were error's, anyway and the union steward for our area would literally drop what they were doing in the middle of their work and walk away at the exact break time...they would tell on others if they took break to early or late, worked to late or left to early, and the head of the union broke into an office to steal communications from one of the leaders. Crazy stuff! But I think what happens when people are younger they tend to believe in pie in the sky sort of things based on emotions and emotional narrative...they have not been quite exposed to "real life" yet and think things are as easy as "why don't we have free health care"...and "why doesn't everyone make the same amount and live in big houses and drive nice cars"..."big corp is bad because they take advantage of people in order to make huge profits"..."blame others for their misfortune"...etc. But as you get older and actually live life and have experiences you realize how things work and what stopping blaming others and working hard can do for you. You also understand how the government is run horribly and is more about control and power and taking your money, then it is to help you in day-to-day life. That nothing in life is free, and you don't fall for the idiotic rhetoric like some on one side of the political isle likes to spew. You begin to think for yourself, and understand how to find the truth through the cesspool of media and "news". You also learn that the loud over the top "experts" in certain fields are in fact, not really experts at all but blow hard politicians in it for the money...and then spew about universal health care, taking care of your fellow man, etc., but keep all their millions and billions of $$ to themselves. So in summary, you become all about working hard, not believe what you are told from politicians/experts/etc., think for yourself, focus on taking care of yourself and your family, helping people in need, and wanting to be left alone and to leave others alone as long as it doesn't impact you. I also honestly have no problem with people that are liberal, some of my best friends and some in my family are liberals. I enjoy speaking with them and learning how they think and why they think they way they do (even though sometimes they get so angry when I share my opinion they just walk away huffing and puffing...it is quite funny...I am like why are you so angry??). Anyway, I tend to agree with them on a lot of things even though we get to conclusions about topics differently or disagree about how to get to a solution. My best friend from high school is liberal, and use to be extremely liberal, but even he is getting to more of the middle as he gets older and can't stand the far-left folks. And similarly, my dad is conservative and as he has gotten older he has become far right...hard listening to him sometimes. Anyway, rant over2 points

Wednesday marked the first day of the Pan-American Olympic Games Qualifier and Greco-Roman took center stage. At the 2023 World Championships, the United States did not qualify any Greco weights for the Olympics, so they needed all six wrestlers on the day to advance to the finals. A semifinals win earned a quota for that wrestler’s country. When it was all said and done, half of the American contingent was able to win in the semifinals and earn the United States a spot in the Paris Games. The final three wrestlers in the American lineup were the ones who clinched the quotes, Spencer Woods (87 kg), Alan Vera (97 kg), and Cohlton Schultz (130 kg). While the United States is guaranteed a spot in the Olympic Games at those weights, the actual wrestler who represents the country will be determined at the Olympic Team Trials in April. For the weights that were not qualified, there will be a Last Chance Qualifying event in early-May. 60 kg Quarterfinals - Kevin DeArmas Rodriguez (Cuba) over Ildar Hafizov 7-3 67 kg Semifinals - Nestor Almanza Evian (Chile) over Alex Sancho Fall Quarterfinals - Alex Sancho over Luis Centeno Rodriguez (Puerto Rico) 4-0 77 kg Semifinals - Jair Cuero Munoz (Colombia) over Kamal Bey 6-4 Quarterfinals - Kamal Bey over Arsen Julfalakyan (Argentina) 4-2 87 kg Semifinals - Spencer Woods over Daniel Gregorich Hechavarria (Cuba) 6-3 Quarterfinals - Spencer Woods over Ariel Alfonso (Honduras) Fall 97 kg Semifinals - Alan Vera over Luillys Perez Mora (Venezuela) 7-1 Quarterfinals - Alan Vera over Max Madrid De Leon (Panama) 10-0 130 kg Semifinals - Cohlton Schultz over Moises Perez Hellburg (Venezuela) 2-1 Round Two - Cohlton Schultz over Eduard Soghomonyan (Brazil) Fall Round One - Cohlton Schultz over Jorawar Dhinsa (Canada) Fall Quotas Earned 60 kg: Venezuela, Cuba 67 kg: Chile, Ecuador 77 kg: Colombia, Cuba 87 kg: USA, Colombia 97 kg: USA, Honduras 130 kg: USA, Chile2 points

Team that can beat penn state if they all get blessed by god the night before NCAA's and everything that could go wrong for psu does NC state Camacho stays in form wins 125 Orine draws in opposite side of fix and vito is not healthy/is cutting for trials already makes finals ryan jack reaches back on beau in the quarters like he did eierman but gets the fall call and then proceeds to beat whoever the 4 seed is makes the finals but loses because lightning cannot possibly strike 3 times Jackson arrington gets the first takedown on ridge then chooses neutral and proceeds to circle but gets 2 stall calls on ridge for getting himself pushed out. Goes on to stun henson in the finals. Ed scott throws people and gets a lot of pins AA's I got nothing at 165 Nc state says f it and pulls singletons red shirt for confrences and he shows why he beat gabe arnold in 2 matches at u20's takes out a hobbled carter in the semis and avenges his ACC finals loss to mehki (in this hypothetical he loses to mehki at acc's) Fishback steals all of tj stewarts speed like its space jam and AA's Trent beats Aaron in the finals (the most realistic prediction on here imo) and celebrates by punching himself with one hand and holding a hoagie with the other trephan AA's2 points

Yes, I had originally asked what he was on probation for. But edited it after I found a similar article1 point

THAT is some impressive shit. I remember him getting hurt...I did not remember it was a broken ankle. Again, my own anecdotal experiences, knee injuries can vary in pain or ability to Wrestle on them. A broken ankle though? I had a friend with an irrational dislike for Mr. Jaggers. Claimed he got lucky...TWICE. He was a helluva Wrestler also, so he really should have been smart enough to know you don't "get lucky," and win TWO Titles...but he'd still argue it!1 point

Schultz gets the first crack on top. Tries a head pinch and is defended somewhat suspect. Period ends 1-0. Schultz gets a step out about 30 seconds in to go up 2-0. Venezuela gets caution and their turn on top. Tries a couple weak looking guts. Schultz almost gets a go behind off a snap down. Plays it safe. Venezuela with a headbutt with 10 seconds left. Schultz holds him off and takes it 2-1.1 point

JB actually got it repaired, he had an ankle full of screws and probably brushed his teeth with toradol. Definitely a crazy impressive performance though, arguably the best of his career. edit: I’m 93% sure he got it repaired like 4-6 weeks before worlds.1 point
