  1. I will make all the 4 th place trophies for 1 million dollars. That will save them 3 million . I will also put in a bid to do the other trophies. If the other 3 trophies are 12 million dollars I will do them for 4 million dollars.

  2. Simple solution: adopt the international model and just give out 2 third place trophies.

  6. I haven't seen Allred throw much. He has a good leg attacks and finishes but I don't see him tossing Hidlay. Most of his pins have come from top position, if I recall. Give me Hilday to win the whole tournament.

  9. I have been wondering why Joe would run for president again. Does he love his son enough to retire? Does he love his son enough to stay in office and pardon him? The GOP may be slow playing… drip… drip… as political strategy. Wait to act closer to the election… ensure Biden is running again to assure victory.

  10. I love a good day trip up to Cincinnati, hitting up Jungle Jim’s, IKEA, and stopping for pizza next to campus. Bellarmine’s biggest issue will always be its cost and academics (to get in). However it’s a great campus, located pretty much in the heart of Louisville and right next to the Highlands, their wrestling room has upgrades in the future, and I think they are in a great spot for recruiting (you have the Indy/Cinci/Nashville sorta triangle) I don’t have much to say about Lindenwood, we always got the short stick at the other Lindenwood campus when it was still around.

  11. Last year they had Lindenwood at home, came down to the last match with Huff (current HWT) getting the win for Bellarmine They beat Kentucky Wesleyan, a D2, a few weeks ago for the home opener and have been on the road since Coach Shuck is building great things in Louisville

  12. I actually saw a suggestion on HR which wasn’t horrible and would help with the alleged defensiveness - TD is worth 3 if you initiate the move and 2 if you don’t. Makes sense in theory but does add more complication and ref subjectivity

  13. And when the government is advising the business of which content should be censored? Then that becomes part of the question. And that is what happened as demonstrated by the Twitter files. mspart

  16. There is an argument that we've tackled before about where and when is it appropriate to limit information to the public. When the government or a government organization limits, by force, the dissemination of information(other than that which would or could be considered dangerous, pornographic, or in other ways objectionable) it is censorship and/or a violation of free speech. ei banning certain books from public libraries. When a business does it, its neither censorship or a violation of your free speech. You have no right to Twitter. If they want to make money by plastering swastikas all over, they can. Its been done before. If they choose not to, kick rocks. That you're trying to frame it as 'they just don't like the ideas' is a bit of a stretch. That their economic policy is different is not the issue. Its wanting hatful views to be considered run-of-the-mill because the only other places they can spout those ideas are tiny corners of nowhere and they want more exposure. Dislike doesn't begin to describe it. Dangerous, yes. If we are talking about economic policy or how best to provide free health care to everyone or the best way to pave over pools so the less fortunate can't enjoy them, then sure lets talk. But your argument seems like a pretty typical straw man and an twisting of the real issue. Regardless of whether or not its censorship. If racists and white nationalists are happy about the direction twitter is going, I'm skeptical of someone who agrees with them. Businesses have at least the sense not to wade too deep into that pool.

  18. Probably one of the most consistent guys in the country that's never won a title and people love to hate on the dude. 109-13 career record, outside of being pinned last year by Keckeisen (which most people would consider an outlier) and losing to Zahid 12-4 in Dec. of 2019 (RS Frosh year), the WORST loss of his career is 6-3 to Aaron Brooks. So yes, to back the Brain here, he's really freaking good and very underrated.

  20. Paper Tiger? WTF does that even mean? anyone who hasn't won a title is a paper tiger? 2x AA w/ lowest being 5th? every single loss of his career was to an All American. What in the sam hell are you talking about? He's lost two in-season matches in the last three + seasons. One to Keckeisen who he beat two weeks prior, and one to Hunter Bolen who he beat 4 times.

  21. Dumb idea. Those national trophies in a school's trophy case probably do some amount of good for recruiting, and they certainly enhance then NCAA brand overall. Also, theyve been adding sports over the years and even increasing the number of athletes in various sports who would be considered "all-americans" (another great brand/recruiting/marketing tool). Why take honors away? again, dumb.

  23. I won't say I "made" my son swim. I did tell him certain life skills were mandatory: swimming and self-defense. (He has a youth black belt in jiujitsu. I wish he had the mentality for wrestling. He's simply a much nicer person than I am.) My kid 'quit" swimming many times. He would conveniently "forget" his swimsuit for practice when he was first learning to swim; I, of course, would always carry a spare. After a while, we continued to make him swim because he would not play any other sport and, by golly, he was going to do something for exercise. In 8th grade, he made the county all-star team. He told me, "Hey, I think I'm pretty good at this." To which my sarcastic response was, "You think?" Still took him a another year plus to recognize his talent.

  24. I thought Caliendo looked small compared to David Carr (who looks big at 165 this year). Caliendo is very muscular but not tall/long limbed. I could see him slotting into 157 next year. As a senior in HS, I wrestled 189 and bumped up to wrestled heavyweight for the team a handful of time throughout the year. I started the season around 200 and by midseason was weighing in around 186 after a hard practice. After +2 pounds for Christmas I had to weigh in over 191 to wrestle heavyweight. All you have to do is drink a gallon of water on the bus ride and you can put on 8 easy pounds of water weight to wrestle up at the next weight class haha!

  27. Yes, the guy who is 2/4/5 is 3 NCAA attempts. The guy who majored Michael Beard and has a 100% bonus rate on the year. Hilday is a very physical wrestler, hardly a "paper tiger".

  31. Of course! (admit when wrong and apologize where warranted) There is no question that X is better (for me) than Twitter, which I measure by my own personal usage and satisfaction. I am willing to pay for X but not for Twitter. And I will believe that X is worse for you by whatever means you value. Many corporations have found it is worse for them, as they reduced their advertising spend. I believe 'worse' for them unspokenly relates to power and manipulation. I am skeptical about the 'social responsibility champion' speech by corporations whose actions are anything but. Apple device manufacturing, environment impact, repairability, ... etc. Or perhaps they, too, are being held prisoner by woke customers and funders.

  35. Did anyone think Schultz would show up after what happened last year? Zeke is going to protect him to a top 2 seed (either Kerk or illuminati Gable will do undefeated at B1Gs for the #1). If Hendrickson is as banged up as we think, Davison was likely going to not only ruin the rest of his season but there would be concern for career-altering further damage because he has a real mean streak on the mat and is a legitimate finalist contender this year even if no one is injured and needs to be respected as such. That's not to say he is a dirty wrestler because he isn't, but if you step on the mat then everything is fair game at this level and he will beat you up. I for one hope Davison meets up with the no-necked Pillsbury Throwboy at NCAA semis and runs through him with horsepower doubles from hell because I'm petty like that. (obligatory I hope he wins a greco medal and breaks the drought)

  44. Can you explain this sport? Some people in latex underwear, bug eyes, and tight hats jump into a giant indoor puddle. They are moving their arms… flapping like giant wings… and kicking legs as if they are trying to shoo away an invisible swarm of bees… Just keep flapping and kicking. Then they get to the edge of the puddle… and stop… climb out… and pretend like nothing weird just happened.
