  1. As anyone who has paid attention to my posts knows, there are a couple of things I hate for their laziness. The generic claims of ducking and stalling. Here we will ignore the former and focus on the latter. I loooooove @pmilk's posts on strategy. After all one man's strategy is another man's stalling. And this can be very tribal. All you need to do to see that is read some of the posts on HR by their fan parody account Ironbird. A recent perfect example is yesterday he complained that Woods would have won by more if the opponent hadn't stalled. In the same post he referred to Arnold's "tuff ride/mat returns to wear a guy down and kill some clock". You know because one is clearly stalling, but the other is strategy. Blah, blah, blah. Digging through @grogs84 data for the 1988 to 2021 NCAA tournaments I thought I would find the wrestlers who won a title while scoring the fewest points. To do this I narrowed it down to wrestlers who won all of their matches by decision on their way to a title. Let's call them the Efficient Eight (really 10 with ties, but I do love alliteration). Why score any more than you need to? It's not like you can use those extra points in later matches. Conserve energy. Don't let 'em see your moves on tape. Good luck scouting all my moves when I only use one per match, if that many. Now that is just smart wrestling. The heavies are, um, heavily represented with 6 of the 10, but it is a middleweight who shall lead them all. While it saddened me to see that no one had won five straight 1-0 matches in OT, Jason Tsirtsis at 149 in 2014 came closest, having won his 5 matches 4-1, 4-3, 2-1 (OT), 2-1 (OT) and 3-1 (OT) for a 15 point total (only 12 in regulation time, awesome). Does anyone know of any wrestlers pre-1988 or post 2021 to score fewer than the world's most efficient wrestler**? *Ok, Ten, so The Taut Ten? ** Guinness verification pending.

  13. He's wrestled a couple pretty big guys already. He's quick and his low single has been really effective so far. If I was @flyingcement I would guarantee a finals appearance. I believe a top six would be a great weekend. It's going to be a quite a test for many of the Buckeyes. They only have two upperclassmen, three (GR) if Hoffman wrestles(I know you're aware, just throwing out there).

  14. I agree with the gullible. There is direct evidence of controlling the flow of information on the news, social media, and search browsers to make one side look better and shut down the other. That is unfair at best and interference at worst. Election rigging is already proven in court. Janet here got a slap on the wrist for it.

We might be a dream in a really big sleepy giant's nightly repose. This is an opinion and discussion forum. Not a proof forum. Yelling "Prove it!" is the equivalent of blowing a raspberry. Satisfying to the blower, I suppose, but a defective discussion technique.

  22. The Bono/Askren relationship not working out was just about the most predictable thing ever. I don't think anyone needs to name call on either side. Now, I think it is more than fair to question Bono's judgment when it comes to that entire situation. AWA is producing the best talent in the state, and some of the best talent in the entire country overall. Putting yourself in a situation where you might be at odds with their staff... not so wise.

  25. Bono's issues, whatever they are, that led to them getting shutout by ISU go beyond Askren IMO. He was unable to keep his two best wrestlers in Gomez and Wick from finishing their careers at Wis. let along staying post grad to train. I get that outside factors may have played in there but if you can't keep your best around to wrestle post-grad it is not a good sign. Braxton Amos was as blue chip as they come and he hasn't sniffed AA status yet. What's going in on Madison??

  26. I agree. I wasn't saying he didn't gas. I was saying at the very least he coasted. Most people coast when they are up big (he wasn't) and/or they gas. We don't want a Lee that coasts. Ever.

  28. There was no fraud in Maricopa county. Biden was shorted 360 votes somehow, but I suppose it all came out in the wash. Which government are you talking about? The AZ state legislature? That is the most relevant government and we both know they desperately tried to do a helluva lot more than admit it.

  29. Well AWA has what.... 95%+ of the top-end talent there? Hopke is the basically the lone exception, right... and he went to Minny. With the bridge being burnt between Benji and Bono I don't expect any top-end Wiscy talent to go to Wiscy. Actually that burnt bridge may be damning in many other states too. More people (kids) know who Askren is than Bono (the coach - duh!). Askren has been vocal about how much of a dishonest turdbiscuit Bono is.

  31. Bono may not be in Jeopardy but the current state will not work, Wisconsin is producing some high caliber high school wrestlers and few if any are going to Wisconsin, we can all sit around the fire with a bottle of Whiskey and debate why they are not going to Wisconsin, but the bottom line is they are not and if that does not change nothing is going to change in Madison

  32. This would probably be a pretty good dual. I’d say the D2/D3 champs could compete to AA or at least usually win a couple matches at NCAA’s, but that’s about the ceiling for most of them IMO (which is still pretty impressive of course).

  34. 31% of Democrats and 45% of independents don't believe Brandon got 81 million citizens validly casting a ballot for him. Let's do some math: Extrapolating the numbers and assume they are statistically valid and throw some Kentucky windage at this and say 1/3 of the total are Dems, 1/3 Reps, and 1/3 Indys and we have almost 240 million citizens > 24 million Dems (31%) and 36 million Indys (45%) for a total of almost 61 million who do not believe Brandon 81 million American citizens voted for Brandon. ~ 58 million Reps (72%) do not believe Let's Go got 81 million American citizen votes. By your logic, there are more Dem + Indy MAGAs than Rep MAGAs. Those are some seriously gullible and eager peeps to register as Dem and Indy yet STILL serve said single person's purposes. Or, you are wrong. The election had very obvious "irregularities" which will be repeated and all 3 sides (D, R, I) know it. The MAGA Dems in Bridgeport and Patterson already are experiencing the "most secure elections" in US history and the associated invalidation of those ironclad elections. Elections just keep getting more securer and honester. What do 2/3 of the people who actually vote know about anything? Rubes.
