They have Marc Anthony McGowan , #3 overall recruit , highest recruit since Kolodzik ( higher than glory and Monday) they have 1 other top 100 recruit and 3 more top 150 coming in and just had a national champ which always boasts recruiting …they have a pipeline to delbarton and Blair in state , a great multiple time ncaa champ as assistant coach I think they’ll be just fine moving forward3 points

I can already imagine job interviews lol So Mr. Slavikouski, I see here that you obtained a bachelor's degree from Harvard and you received a graduate diploma from... Arizona State? Did you cheat your way into Harvard and were exposed? Did you commit criminal atrocities? I understand that one may not be able to stay at the top when that is where you started, but sir you ended up at the McDonald's of grad schools. We have serious reservations about your potential employment with our firm.3 points

Monday was interviewed in the early rounds. He’s got 20 something committed and has been overwhelmed by how many are reaching out or want to help3 points

I haven't been following very closely who's got another year and who doesn't but here is my take. Lots of freestyle analogies to draw distinctions, but some of it is just eye test. What's yours? 1. Arujau. This guy level-jumped big time. Never thought I'd see someone major Fix, a World silver medalist, and definitely never thought I'd someone handle RBY like that. Move over Gilman/Lee, I see him as our 57kg Olympic rep. 2. Brooks. Just effortlessly dismantles guys with Cael-like fluidity. Going for 4. Wins over Olympic Bronze Amine shows his bona fides. Only think I think he lacks is S-tier strength. Will be fun to see him challenge Taylor for 86kg supremacy. 3. Starocci. Gives up nothing. Going for 4. Multiple wins over Jr World Gold Lewis. Stuck between 74kg and 86kg but I hope he sticks around after Olympics before MMA because 79kg would be his. 4. O'Toole. Win over Carr was super impressive. So was his tech over Kharchla. 2xer and has a Jr World Gold. High wrestling IQ and can't wait to see how far he goes. 5. Carr. Knocked off O'Toole 2x before NCAA finals, 2 career losses, past NCAA champ and Jr World Gold. Future world teamer. 6. Fix. Can't seem to get on the top of the podium but has a Sr-Level World silver, 3x NCAA runner up, and chatter is he'll use his last year. Would have him higher but after McGee loss, am thinking he's doing the Okie St regression. 7. Kerkvliet. Has been stuck behind some studs. Level-jumped to pass Cass, but Parris level-jumped even more. Past Cadet gold, and good shot at international success if he stays healthy. 8. Hendrickson. Very little separating him from Kerk. Would have won in the semis if he picked top. Molested Cass, a former U23 World Champ. 9. Alirez. Undefeated NCAA champ with huge bonus percentage. Beat a tough Woods to get there. Maybe too high, maybe too low here... hard to say. 10. Woods. Only loss to Alirez and was right there with him. A couple one-point losses last year to Lee/Rivera. A tough out. Hard to leave out Keckeisen, Ramos, Haines, Hidlay, Foca and others, and I'm sure someone will tell me so-and-so is or isn't coming back for a final year, but that's off the top of my head. Speaking of which, is Mekhi Lewis coming back? If so, I'd probably slot him in somewhere toward the end, despite Foca loss.2 points

https://wvusports.com/news/2023/3/24/blog-cardinales-toughness-and-persistence-leads-to-another-all-america-season.aspx Not only did he AA as the 28 seed, coming off major shoulder injury from last season he started the season finding out he had stress fractures in both big toes . After some time off he returned around midlands and immediately tore his acl, after sitting out a few weeks he came back to practice and immediately had a complete bucket handle meniscus tear , he had the meniscus repair surgery just 2 weeks before big 12s and 27 days before the start of nationals . He wrestled all matches at ncaas including the meaningless 7th/8th match…guy is an absolute warrior and he did all this while in medical school this guy should be the one selling excuses are for wussies gear2 points

I'm pretty Penn State centric. That said Parris earned the Hodge. Putting the competition on their backs matters. Next year look for 33 Hodge finalists. I wonder who the pigtail candidate will be.2 points

Yeah, for fear of censorship. For talking politics on a wrestling forum, or for being on the wrong side? In the U. S. A. For crisakes. As for “educated assessment” I present: https://gbdeclaration.org/2 points

What a strong ending to his career (I think he’s done) from 10 seed to 3rd in a tough 125. Last 3 years 2nd, 6th, 3rd. Not so long ago is seemed that many were calling for Figueroa to take his spot. Glad ASU stuck with him, he earned their loyalty. Figs is good but no way he would have done better than Courtney did at NCAAs this year.2 points

Regarding the fan vote, some of my friends who are not wrestling fans decided to watch this year's NCAA finals. Both guys thought: 1) Nino Bonaccorsi was super likeable 2) 133 was the most entertaining and impressive wrestling to them as amateurs (the quickness and craftiness)2 points

1. Because they didn't have the votes from all of their Senators? Is your argument that politicians always vote with what's in line with what their constituents want? 2. N/A 3. Again, so you're saying the Dems should just play by the rules established by their opponents, thus ceding advantages to them. "You can only go outside the norms in ways that are approved by your opponent." That's just stupid, bad politics, and a recipe for losing. You're literally saying that only one party should be allowed to violate the norms. You then follow up explicitly showing how I am saying that if one party is going to break norms, than the other party should feel free to, and then just saying the phrase "you want it both ways", despite me literally saying that the democrats should play the same way the Republicans do. You understand that just repeating the phrase "you want it both ways" doesn't make it true, right? 4. You're changing topics to places you feel you are on more stable ground, nobody was talking about the January 6 committee. Then you're making assumptions. I don't care who was on the committee, though I had no problem w/ Pelosi saying "hey, you can't put people on the committee that are obviously very likely to be subpoenaed by said committee." The Democrats didn't refuse to have any Republicans on the committee, they refused a few certain members that were likely to be requested to testify at said committee, and then McCarthy, rather then picking from any of his other 215ish members (or by allowing the other 3 members he had nominated that hadn't been objected to to serve), cried and refused to appoint anybody, and thus volunteers were taken. Then you're comparing it to McConnell just obstructing a perfectly valid nomination.1 point

100% agree on everything you stated. They have created a new crack for everyone as we all feel we need social media and even further Google/Apple to survive. None of the tech companies are immune to using the data to show us information we want or what they want to promote. TikTok is no worse than any other social media company. The USA "based" tech companies are mainly jealous that the TikTok algorithm is really good and gets people engaged at a way higher rate.1 point

Pleasantly surprised to see Mikey continuing his obsessive posting of links to whachadoodle articles. But a little disappointed he wasn't all over the story of how Elon wants to build a "Utopia Town" by Austin for all the workers of his companies. Clearly this has to be good fodder in his brain on how bad Elon is and subsequently how this will also be Trump's fault in some way and should be investigated. I'm sure there are links to something like this out there already and Mikey's amazing investigation skills will uncover it with some more "SEE!! SEE!!" links.1 point

Yep, Herbert can attest to that. Unless his opponents ran the whole match then they were getting at very least majored. It was a surprise when Gavin held it to a regular decision in the finals Askren's senior year (Ben pinned him in the first period earlier that season).1 point

I am as big of a Lamer fan as anyone - dad Chad was a 3x national champion at SDSU. Not sure that Legend is a title contender at 149 though. Maybe a PAC-12 title but I don't even see that as likely with Parco there.1 point

What information could Elon or Zuckerberg sell about me, and how will it impact me? Maybe I should take that more serious. Is that a bigger threat than control over what content and culture is pushed to me and mine?1 point

When it benefits him to have it worth more it will be. For now I'm guessing he is looking at losses for tax benefits. Somehow he seems to know how to make money.1 point

Guy. You have trouble reading or something? Truax is well under the 197lb limit without even cutting. Day 2 he weighed in at 188lbs, 10lbs under the 197+1 limit. I personally talked to some of the Cal Poly squad at our hotel that morning and they said he was under 190 with warmups on. His 18-3 record this season was his best, yes, but he also missed a very large stretch of it where he would have had competitive matches. I would have put money on him having more wins and the same losses either way, though. The same can be said for each season too, fwiw. Also, also, his first year midway through the season he went to 157, so it isn't like he ballooned from 149 to 165 in one offseason. He was already having to cut to get to 157 by the end of that season. Also, also, also, his tweet says he will be looking in to a number of graduate schools for his last year of eligibility. No mention of staying at Cal Poly for it.1 point

What in the hell is that ref looking at/for back there? This feels like a "write the caption," candidate. Preisch looks like he's watching another match. Dean looks like he's asking, "how flat would you like me ref?" While the ref is getting kicked in the chest and trying to figure out what that stain is on the back of Preisch singlet. Did he sit in something or...should we add an H to that?1 point

Ness has the school record of 73. Bo Nickal had 82 if I did the math right. Cael had 61. I couldn’t find Spencer Lee’s total. He might hold the first period pin record.1 point

I don’t think it matters what kind of surgery he had , he AAed coming back from major shoulder surgery, with stress fractures in both his big toes , a torn acl in one knee , torn meniscus in the other knee , surgery 2 weeks before big 12s and a 28 seed ..Cardinale is one tough sob1 point

I can't believe people have to "rag" on Spencer Lee, here, or anywhere....most people will never know the greatness Spencer has reached....not even close! Not a Hawkeye fan, but I do respect Spencer. He's someone anyone would want to represent their program. U have the feeling his knees are so bad that he will never compete again. Fadz1 point
