Guys, you aren't going to believe this. Micic was just granted ANOTHER year of eligibility! He's going to Illinois. I was skeptical at first but my local AARP rep just confirmed the news. Apparently Poeta was able to seal the deal when he came over the top by promising Serbian scales and Belgrade weigh-in witnesses. I'm excited to see what the combined 567 years of experience can do at NCAAs this year!4 points

True leaders take responsibility for their actions when they are wrong and when they make mistakes. I have never seen one ounce of leadership in Kamala Harris. She and Joe blame every problem in America on President Trump. I would think 80 percent of Americans would think our borders being open is a massive problem and a massive mistake. It was a massive mistake caused by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I do agree with Kamala that we need to move forward. The only way to do that is to fire Kamala.3 points

Facts say otherwise on attendance. Based on your post history, you don’t seem to like wrestling very much. I hope you find joy in another sport.3 points

No need for him to sh1t on Penn State really, Rob Koll had already done it2 points

People love to justify their opinion so much that they ignore the plain and simple definition of words. If the word commitment is new to you, look it up in the dictionary. If the wrestler is simply indicating that they are leaning toward a particular school and are not committed, then be clear about it. I definitely would not want to rely on the ‘word’ of some of you or be a business partner.2 points

You do know that TikTok is much like YouTube where YouTube itself isn't producing the content...right??!! If someone posts a clip from a different site/news source it has nothing to do with TikTok. Nor does it being posted on TikTok negate what content was in the clip nor has anything to do with it being true/factual or not...right??!! Sounds like you are just afraid of actually opening your mind to new information that may change the narrative in your head...but I guess we all already knew that about you. I'll wait for the next partisan talking point quip from you that you probably put no independent thought into.2 points

She did not answer it. She blanked then spun a word salad that she is known for. https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4938609-kamala-harriss-fox-news-interview-disaster-shows-how-the-media-set-her-up-to-fail/ Though there were many head-scratchers and uncomfortable fumbles in the Baier interview, the critical moment came when Harris rope-a-doped herself with the claim that former President Donald Trump is “unfit” and too “unstable” to be president. This led to obvious follow-up questions regarding the White House’s and her own earlier efforts to dismiss concerns surrounding Biden’s mental and physical fitness. “You told many interviewers that Joe Biden was on his game,” Baier said, “that he ran around circles on his staff. When did you first notice that President Biden’s mental faculties appeared diminished?” Harris blanked. Then, after she had had a moment to recollect herself, she simply dodged the question. “Joe Biden — I have watched from the Oval Office to the Situation Room, and he has the judgment and the experience to do exactly what he has done in making very important decisions on behalf of the American people,” Harris said in her trademark word salad format. Baier pressed, “There were no concerns raised?” “Bret, Joe Biden is not on the ballot,” said Harris, “and Donald Trump is.” Yes, but why isn’t Biden on the ballot? This is the question, is it not? As it turns out, Harris knows something about it, even though she went along and played the fool until Biden was forced from his own ticket.. “You met with [Biden] at least once a week for three-and-a-half years,” Baier pressed on Wednesday evening. “You didn’t have any concerns?” “I think the American people have a concern about Donald Trump,” the vice president deflected, “which is why the people who know him best, including leaders of our national security community have all spoken out, even people who worked for him in the Oval Office, worked with him in the Situation Room and have said he is unfit and dangerous and should never be President of the United States again, including his former vice president, which is why the job was open for him to choose another running mate. So that is a fact. That is a fact.” It was an unmitigated disaster. mspart2 points

They averaged over 400 per dual last season... what were you saying about having no clue about attendance?2 points

I doubt he is the one actually running the Badgers social media, but they posted a picture of the 3 ranked wrestlers we have. I commented that I can't wait until this season is over and the used car salesman hype man we call a head coach is gone. They deleted the comment. Lol I guess you can't criticize the program anymore1 point

The fascinating trend of wrestlers adopting the mannerisms of their coaches continues in fascinating fashion, Plott sounds an AWFUL LOT like DT and Cael in his most recent interview. I find this trend so amusing. So many Okie State guys used to sound like angry short cowboys (J Smith), ditto for iowa guys using the highly idiosyncratic cadence of the brands bros. Now it continues in the DT era. What are some other notable coach speaking styles that get passed onto athletes that I'm forgetting?1 point

ahh ... we are not a Democracy. Maybe both Tim and Kamala are a threat to the Republic.1 point

Then maybe the fancy little twitter graphics should say "Vibing" instead of "committed" lol. We don't need to reinvent the english language for collegiate athletics. That wasn't the intention of verbal commitment. It's being USED that way, sure, but that's not what "commiting" means. ...And I willfully identify as a Penn State fan.1 point

Right. But it's a slippery slope rife with hazards. If one Ivy opts-in, the others will be tempted to follow suit or bail. It goes beyond conferences, too. There's talk at Harvard, for example, about moving to D3 because they can't retain football and basketball talent with D1 academic peers outside their conference. Stanford, Northwestern, Berkeley, UCLA, Duke can offer both classroom prestige and money. Harvard just has NIL, and no collectives (none of the Ivies have or want collectives). On the flip side, I could see opting-in affecting revenue distributions. If a school opts-in and thinks they're bringing eyeballs and postseason dollars to the conference, they'll likely use that leverage when discussing revenue splits.1 point

they all need to think about life after wrestling / The NCAA's longstanding branding tag line emphasizes that most of the nearly 500,000 college athletes will go pro in something other than sports.1 point

come on she answered every one starting with the phrase... but trump....1 point
-
She did answer at least one. "What would you do differently than Joe? I can't think of anything I would change". That actually was an answer, just not the right answer if she is the agent of change. With Baier, she did say that she would be different than Biden and Trump, emphasizing that her turning the page was aimed at Trump, not Biden. mspart1 point

Yes, both Jack and Arrington will redshirt this season. Orine is moving up to 141. He actually missed weight last year once that I can remember and struggled to stay down. 133 will either be Robinson or Hohman, with an outside shot of Draegen Orine (Kai's true freshman little brother). Guessing Robinson though.1 point

Sometimes it’s kind of like. When you’re in a corporate meeting that seemingly won’t end and that guy on your team won’t stop asking questions that everyone darn well knows the answer too. That voice in your head saying shuuuuuutttttttuuuuuuuppppppp!!!??!!?!&&@‘nbbb. I think that’s what the posts mean.1 point

Did you know she prosecuted transnational gangs? She literally has the same few talking points every time she does an interview. Does that answer why she is incentivizing them to come into the country? No. I liked how she tried to tie her and Biden immediately reversing border policies on day 1 via executive order to somehow blaming the border crisis on a bill from approximately 6 months ago.1 point
-
It was really a fiasco. I watched it on youtube. Her answer to 90% of what was asked was Trump is bad. She spent maybe 10% of the time on her "policy" proposals. And she wasn't convincing on that. Just a disaster of an interview for her, mostly because of her absolute refusal to answer any questions in a straightforward manner. mspart1 point

Thanks to Jason Bryant for including a link to this story in his newsletter this morning. The school's statement may indicate Campbell has bigger problems. Given Campbell's size, the school's finances should be healthier than this. Maybe not. In a statement, the school said it evaluated operation expenses and made “strategic decisions” to ensure the future of the school, which is located in Buies Creek. “We’ve asked for the cooperation of various departments and units, including Campbell Athletics, who are helping us in this goal of institutional strength,” the university said in a statement. The school said the among the cost-cutting measures are athletic scholarships across multiple sports. The school did not elaborate on which of its 21 athletic teams would face cuts. https://www.wralsportsfan.com/budget-cuts-coming-for-campbell-athletics-school-says/21675210/?utm_source=Wrestling+News&utm_campaign=c7bbfabb03-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_09_28_09_07_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_44607e8210-c7bbfabb03-245377111&mc_cid=c7bbfabb03&mc_eid=e17780a6151 point

Is this the father of the Medlin that just committed to Illinois? I was on a deep dive on Seth Mendoza results and saw he bumped up from 126 to 138 and beat him 4-0 which I thought was pretty insane given he's a national caliber kid.1 point

I've noticed this too over the years, I think a lot of it can be attributed to a relative lack of media training. Because of that, when athletes are put in situations that are public facing, they manifest a lot of the personality, mannerisms, and talking points of their coaches, which I no doubt they've internalized as they've watched their HC/AC deal with public speaking to the team, donors, and media.1 point

How do you sound short? Just wondering. haha makes sense. These kids are still at an impressionable age and the coach/mentor relationship can last a lifetime.1 point

Beyond that and he's only seventeen... " 1) He has bonus points in every D1 state match he has wrestled. 2) He has never lost to an Ohio opponent 3) He has never given up an offensive point, in his entire IN SEASON high school career. Not even in his two losses. He lost on escapes and a penalty point. 4) Fargo Champ over a field that included other world champs Bassett and Raney, current #1 national ranked Knox, and #1 Jax Forrest. 5) Cadet World Champion 6) Olympic team member (top 3 at trials) 7) Junior World Team - Bronze 8 Senior WTT Finalist 9) Beat 3 former D1 NCAA Champs and 2 other NCAA finalists 10) in the same calendar year, beat #1 ranked Lilledahl, #1 ranked Knox, and #1 ranked Forrest."1 point
