Wow, I guess that's a great question.....I don't think I can pick out just one, they all have there memories, but, 1972 (Cole Fieldhouse, Maryland) definitely stands out, partly because it was my first, on Saturday we skipped the consolation matches and visited the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. It included, just like all the others, great wrestling....At 118 Greg Johnson won his 3rd NCAA title, at 126, Yoshiro Fujita (defended champion) broke his collar bone in the first round and was out , 134 was high scoring match that ended up with Gary Barton (Clarion) upsetting Phil Parker ISU, Iowa State winning the NCAA title with 3 champions in Carl Adams, Ben Peterson and Chris Taylor. That year, Clarion (Div. 2) had 2 NCAA Champions in Barton and Wade Schalles, and they followed up in 1973 with 3 Champions in Schalles, Don Rohn, and Bill Simpson...Div. 2 scores didn't count in the team score or Clarion would have been up there in the team score as Iowa State again won it with 2 champions in Rich Binek and Chris Taylor. Every year the guys I go with (former wrestlers of mine) and I try to make a trip to an area place of importance, Philly as seen above, Oklahoma City bombing, World Trade Center, The Museum in Tulsa for the burning of "Black Wall Street", etc. Will have to think about this....maybe to be continued!!!5 points

With another cycle of Olympic Wrestling in the books followed by the inevitable traditional quad annual should we switch to freestyle brigade choir. I just wanted to remind everyone Folkstyle wrestlers are superior to Freestyle wrestlers3 points

Most popular how. Number of wrestlers? Number of fans? Number of countries with x amount of wrestling clubs? Gotta define your metric. Personally I don’t buy “entries at worlds” as an actual way to measure popularity but people love a story.3 points

You might be on to something there OP. Watch, Bassett will eliminate every school from his list lol3 points

but why are we agreeing to worlds entrees as an appropriate metric for popularity?3 points

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/oct/28/instagram-posts/trump-campaigns-evidence-of-fraud-was-reviewed-bef/ Our ruling An Instagram post claimed: "It’s not that there is no evidence the election was stolen, but that no court had the guts to hear the evidence. They dismissed the cases, not the evidence." Although a number of lawsuits challenging the 2020 election’s results were dismissed for procedural or jurisdictional reasons, it’s inaccurate to say that judges refused to review the evidence of alleged fraud. Court records show that some judges dismissed cases after reviewing the evidence and determining it did not sufficiently prove election fraud. We rate this claim False. In the penultimate paragraph, they say there was no case ever held, no trial ever held. So in effect, there was nothing done other than media folks saying there is nothing to see here and judges not allowing trials to be held. That is not proof that there was no corruption in the 2020 election. mspart2 points

No forgetting anything here. The thread is about the DNC and the Kam-eleon. In other threads appropriate to your comment I pointed out quite pointedly that Trump has no political philosophy or principles. That he screwed the pooch tragically on covid. I did not mention there that I once compared him disfavorably to a steaming pile of dog feces. So . . . SHALLENGE LOAST!2 points

Why would anyone need to give up their NCAA title for an Olympic gold? What possible benefit could there be to giving up the title? Pico is the last guy mentioned and he fell down the ladder the further he got away from his decision to pass up wrestling in college. Our young guys are better than ever, and there is zero to suggest that folkstyle wrestling is holding them back.2 points

For years the local (Chicago) ESPN talk radio affilate has had a segment called Florida or Ohio. Someone reads a bizzare news story and the hosts need to guess if it happened in Florida or Ohio.2 points

Anyone have a take on her economic plan? What items in the package point to her reinventing herself as a moderate? Rather than list any items myself, I am interested in what you think. There should be plenty for everyone to like or not like and explain why. Perhaps it would be better to have a thread for each major item. But I'm hoping we can have an interesting conversation in one thread. mspart1 point

He isn't on the roster yet but I suppose in these situations they have to be sure he's enrolled. Also, their site only lists one coach. Wouldn't you think they'd need to assign someone to handle AJ by himself?1 point

Ah yes 4 years later and countless court cases proving the 2020 election was legit people are still saying this. Or are they gonna do the Trump attempt of fraud with illegitimate electors and calling states to find more votes?1 point

Wow, I totally forgot, thank you! So 60% of the starters will be transfers. Iowa lineup next season: 125 Cruz (transfer) 133 Ayala 141 Voinovich (transfer) 149 Parco (transfer) 157 Caliendo (transfer) 165 Teemer (transfer) 174 Arnold 184 Brands 197 Buchanan (transfer) HWT Keuter1 point

The Kam-eleon now identifies as a moderate. It has new pronouns. New policies. It is most assuredly, though, NOT having a Frisco-ectomy to excise the nutcase policies, concepts, authoritarianism, and other anti-freedom tendencies. It is merely using temporary Leftie-blockers. The effects of these blockers wear off as soon as the election is finished. FJB was on the same Leftie-blockers as was the Bamster last election cycle. Once the election finished they become de-transitioners and regress to their natural state. And, remarkably, once the mid-terms are over they revert even harder to their natural leftie state as the Bamster famously pleaded with a Russian. The most interesting thing is that the Kam-eleon is not lying to people who know her. People on the other side of the political spectrum know exactly what it is. It is lying to the people on its own side and to those who have no idea who it is. Just like the Bamster lied about every social and foreign policy (i.e. "keep you doctor" and his own foreign policy personnel bragging about telling the media bunnies anything and they swallow it without blinking an eye - or even remotely understanding what they are hearing) The Kam-eleon is simply saying the least possible to deceive the hopey changies who are not paying attention.1 point

Democratic Mayor Quinton Lucas of KC, MO. He was a smooth talker; better than most at spinning and distracting from Kamala criticisms. That he spoke about the need to report crime IS THE PROOF that crime is not reported.1 point

You're right Zain Retherford was only a World champ and not an Olympic champ. If you think that's a great point about how our system isn't working and somehow dominating internationally is at cross purposes with winning college titles, then there's no point discussing it further.1 point

But I will say Jean Peters Baker is more than part of the problem. She refuses to hold criminals accountable so why do they care if they keep breaking the law if they keep getting a slap on the wrist?1 point

Zain was a World Champion at their age as well. And he became an all timer in college. Granted, he did win a World Title, but in a non-Olympic weight. He didn't do well at all in his Oly debut. I said this about the two because it doesn't always translate over. I'd rather see us dominant Internationally than seeing some Freshman win a college Title again.1 point
-
Ask anyone that wrestles if they would give up their NCAA title for an Oly Gold, 100% would say yes. I'd love to see some of these guys go that route, and pursue FS from Day 1.1 point

And the Commerce secretary had no idea when interviewed. The interviewer said that Trump was talking about how horrible it is that they propped themselves up for so long so they could say what a great economy. Commerce secretary said she wouldn't trust anything that came out of his mouth it is all lies. The interviewer then said, Trump was quoting data from the Commerce department. The Commerce Sec said she was not aware of those numbers. What an idiot!!! This is what we have running this country. Watch the video, it is deeply disturbing how stoopid this person is. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/bidens-commerce-secretary-mocked-after-telling-abc-she-s-not-familiar-with-major-job-number-revision/vi-AA1pdddm mspart1 point

That is a proud moment indeed. Getting a youngin to begin investing for their future is quite the deal. Congratulations. My mom "made" me invest the max amount to the company matching level when I got my first big job. Been investing ever since. Almost to a point where I can retire. Probably another year or two. mspart1 point

My proudest moment came when I was visiting my wife's cousin who I had been helping due to an accident he suffered. His 20 year old daughter, who is very blunt, came up to me and said, "I want you to make me rich." I told her I had no get rich quick schemes, but I knew how to make her rich slowly. But first she would need to read several emails I was going to write. I wrote the emails and figured that would be the end of it. A few months later she called me to say she had read the emails, and opened an account at Vanguard that she funded with $500, was she done? With a tear in my eye I told her almost. She now regularly makes deposits to her account and invests it wisely. She isn't close to being a millionaire yet, but she will be.1 point

Hey I always appreciate insider info. That's why I'm here! It was mostly the "you must not be much of a fan" part that was funny. I've never been close to the program despite growing up there, living near John Smith, wrestling in JH, going to all the duals, etc. The Mastros were another weird vibe kind of family recruited at the same time. I suppose staff weren't worried about it, but obviously it didn't work out. Again I just want that fly-on-the-wall biopic about WTF went down between 2018 and 2021... there were an usual amount of public facing head scratching decisions made. Drammma haha1 point
