I think a lot of people are missing the context here and just clapping for this verdict b/c they hate trump. it's certainly fine to have your opinion of him, but the reality is that a lot of americans (most notably a significant portion of people that formerly didn't like trump) see through the BS and realize the justice system is clearly on a witch hunt that saw them • have DA's literally campaign on 'I'll get Trump" • raid his house and make a stink over a process that every former president was privy to (and that Biden wasn't and offended) • remove the statue of limitations for a he-said/she-said case from a serial accuser • take him to court and force him to secure a absurdly high bond for what is know as standard operation procedure in the real estate world • convict him on falsifying records for something that many politicians, in their campaign, have done over the years. so the Trump haters can certainly take joy in their desired outcome, but 1) it runs counter to the same group's claim that the justice system is rigged and 2) don't be surprised that the pulse of the country is one that recognizes the BS2 points

Sanderson was never in the argument for "best in the world." The other two have been. Sanderson is an all-time American great, but no one out the the US would consider him much more than a one hit wonder. His NCAA and coaching accomplishments have inflated his international achievements. Similar stuff happened with Dan Gable.2 points

Automotive trade rag headlines this week. At least Polestar's shareholders were betting their own money (albeit based on silliness bordering on mania similar to the Dutch Tulip phenomenon). Unlike here in America where billions of our tax money (actually, my grandchildren's tax money) has gone down this Esh*thole. Imagine, bureaucrats and politicians cannot mandate physics and consumer preferences. Whodathunkit?!?1 point

Jonathon Turley makes the same point that I brought up earlier. Like I said, it’s no disgrace if you can’t explain what he was convicted of. It’s only a disgrace if you support it. “So Trump was convicted in a trial with a Biden donor judge, who has a daughter who is a major Democratic operative, a lead prosecutor previously paid as a DNC political consultant and a jury selected in a district that voted roughly 90% against Trump. The trial itself was a travesty. Even after sitting in the courtroom watching the trial and the verdict, I still have no idea what Trump was convicted of in this case.” https://nypost.com/2024/05/31/opinion/donald-trumps-conviction-is-nothing-more-than-a-thrill-kill/1 point

Some folks called me batshit for suggesting Rocky to 285lbs. I think Hawkes to 197 and Sinclair to 184 makes more sense for points at NCAA, though.1 point
-
Actually Ward was projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick. He thought because he won the Heisman he should be a first rounder and thus chose the NBA.1 point

11986 -- Yes,that is correct. I was there covering the meet for the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Lou rushed right out and tried a body lock; his left knee buckled and he went straight to his back and was pinned. A little overzealous. He couldn't wait for the rematch at the NCAA and used a ltitle more strategy, winning a 3-1 win.1 point

I thought the trial was ridiculous from the onset. But, Trump is going around pointing the finger at everyone calling them losers, sleaze balls, dumb etc. You can't throw the gauntlet down and then call foul when you are the one looking for a fight1 point
-
They did. Look what happened. He committed more crimes, and influenced hundreds upon hundreds to commit crimes as well, in large part by lying about our government processes, which he is doing all over again while being held to account for the crimes he has commiitted. Does that make it less of a “political witch hunt” or more?1 point

I did say you are free to deduce from that what you will. It looks like you deduced. mspart1 point

I'm not sure what you are getting at UB. The missile landed somewhere other than where Hamas said it did. So your wonderful Hamas lied. The conversation that was recorded verifies that the missile was small and they were wondering why the secondary explosions in the warehouse. You are free to deduce from that what you will. mspart1 point

Well my thoughts on that are that I don't think you can sustain a conversation very well with that standard. For one thing sense styles makes match ups that person might not actually exist. But also there is a bit of a problem in that I could just say, "Stephen Neal takes Gable on their best day", and there isn't a great response for that. I also get you can't go solely on credentials, because thats a non-staeter in terms of conversation also. So all that said I think the purpose/intrigue of the conversation is the negotiation of those factors, and I take the lack of a third title pretty seriously. However, two things I hadn't thought of when I objected, A) there are very few 3 time HWY champs right? Snyder (who unlike neal doesn't match up with steveson very well), Haselrig....so being a two timer in three tries isn't that problematic B) The field steveson was competing against was the best groups of HWYs ever...only reason its not remember more broadly is he was running the show so thoroughly you had to remind yourself. So maybe he is the best.1 point

Evidence is showing that surprise!!!!! Hamas lied about the 45 civilians being killed. It looks like it was their own weapons depot that exploded. The IDF attack was too small and far away. Even Palestininas were caught on a phone call saying the same. Too small of an explosion and after that one, there were secondary explosions in the warehouse (depot). See previous posts on this. Plus the weapons depot was in an area where there are many civilians. Hamas put these poor souls in danger by locating their depot near innnocent bystanders. But please go on saying Israel murdered 45 civilians on the word of Hamas. They are unreliable in reporting accuracy as you should well know. mspart1 point

I agree. But it is the Ds that are yelling about it, the Rs are not. The D's are doing what they can to limit our ability to vote for initiatives we want, presidential candidates we want, etc. Yet they are the ones yelling that the Rs are trying to take away democracy. It is projection on their part. While doing it, they point the finger at someone else. And the media complies. mspart0 points

The evidence I would start with are your next few sentences. You want them eliminated and their efforts. Won't happen in this scenario based on all previous similar scenarios. What will happen is the killing of innocent people. Do you see the non-Hamas people of Gaza as innocent? Should be a simple answer. As for what I was advocating for, was it 'nothing'? If your answer isn't 'no' then you need to go back and recheck. If you assume I meant 'nothing' you could just ask to be sure. This is not an 'if you're not with us you're against us' bs that y'all love to parade around.-1 points

Get over it. The orange turd has never been more than a rotten bastard criminal. Now he's a convicted felon for his exposed criminal efforts. He continues his deranged ways by projecting that onto others. Yet he's the only clear criminal. Just him. Crying and asking for money from his "supporters". Time to exit being a supporter. Time to leave that clown on the side of the road like the roadkill he is.-1 points

You are in full bore delusion mode when you say the "left stream media" lauded and loved his shows. Also, I guess you just haven't happened to notice that Trump is a traitor, a conman, a rapist, and many other things, none of them good.-1 points

The judicial system is how criminals are punished in this nation. Trump is a criminal and he richly deserved prosecution for his many crimes. I guess you guys figure if a guy declares he's running for office that he can't be prosecuted for his crimes because.....why? According to you guys I guess I could go out and murder a guy, then declare I'm running for President. If they prosecute me for murder I'll start whining that it's political persecution, like Trump. Or is this is a special rule for Trump, that only HE can crime and not be prosecuted? He does seem to be above the law in the eyes of the Republican Party, no matter what he does.-1 points
