And if TNT does the ducking against ISU, does that make it Duck a l'Orange?2 points

What was the point of this titillating little bit of journalism? She wasn't calling out a particular professor, or even a particular school, but all of higher education. The message was "Parents beware. Send your kids off to college and they will turn into a liberal monster." While this guest may not be representative of all conservatives, Fox News is clearly entrenched in the conservative side of the biased news spectrum and they decided to give her her 15 minutes of fame. Bashing higher education for turning kids into liberals is not a new taking point for the right I don't understand what this accomplishes for conservatives. I personally had very few instances of professors mentioning anything political, and certainly nothing akin to brainwashing. If someone changes their views while listening to a professor a few hours a week, they probably didn't hold those views close to begin with.2 points

Not sure if everyone is aware but I do a show once in a while (probably about once a week). Anyway, just passing along. Here's this week's: CKLV Preview, ISU-Iowa, and Buchanan2 points

@ILLINIWrestlingBlog hypothetically speaking, what NILs are available for a 2x AA interested in moving back to the midwest and how long until Braunagel can get back to 184?2 points

I was confident Starocci would AA even after he got tossed to his back 2x by Donnell Washington. Got dumped on by a good number of haters on the old board, but sure enough, he's now a 2-time NCAA champ.2 points

I think he is 20 if I remember correctly..... so their next NCAA champ could come in 2029 if he gets all of his shirts in order.2 points

I wouldn't have a subscription if it wasn't for the notification function in FloArena. I'm glad they bought track....and let it keep sucking too.2 points

All that influx of cash to Flo and their product is still sketch. Must have been used to pay for houses, cabins, and cars. Maybe some hookers and blow, too. Regardless, doesn't appear there was enough left over to make a top-notch streaming product at a reasonable price point, with reasonable subscription terms. Now, instead of putting the customer first, they strong arm their customers into annual subscriptions for a sub-par product. ESPN+, B1G+, etc. appear to be destined to take over their market. Damn shame. When they were working hard for it, they used to have a bright future. Now their product mostly sucks rocks.2 points

Well . . . to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, and of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter from various differentiated perspectives and without condemning another's perspective but still trying to be objective and disinterested in my analysis, and by considering each and every sound argument, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.2 points

The match clock was off by a few seconds too, and the announcers often said the wrong score.2 points

ahh ... its Flo ... they are just here to amuse and frustrate us.2 points

Plus it doesn't make a lot of sense situationally. "hey while your competing to win a starting spot at 133, do you mind losing 8 pounds to cover a dual? it will seriously undermine your long term goals but we don't like cyclones!" "Sure! Can I keep the spot?" "No its gonna go to Lee without a wrestle off, what do you want us to look like idiots?" It only makes sense if Lee is done.1 point

A grade school ump working for pennies probably doesn't have really strong convictions about the call they made. You don't see that happening in the MLB. The managers get tossed even if it was a terrible call. Young adults should have their beliefs challenged so that they know why they hold those beliefs.1 point

I'm crying because Stephen Colbert doesn't make me all tinglingly in my no no place? I have less use for him than I do you. I'd have to have feelings to cry. To be clear, I'm pretty sure I know which way SC voted.1 point

Probably should make sure the grandparents from both sides are there as well for the eye ball test...or at least have them fill out a stat sheet.1 point

I think he would have been allowed to compete based on your first point. But there is a catch with the five matches on RS rule - it only applies to freshman (which is a bit odd)1 point

I don't think that is an NCAA sanctioned event, so he could have wrestled in it. Also, I think redshirts are now allowed 5 competitions.1 point

It's not a duck if you sweep the Pac-3 to lock up the #1 seed in March. It's strategery.1 point

Or the professors made too much sense to allow the student's original views to continue to hold sway. Facts, as they say, have a known liberal bias.1 point

I just want to know what happened in the interim between the spring portal closing in May and making the decision now? Either way he was going to have to use a redshirt but this was certainly less than perfect timing. Is he set to graduate in a few weeks and attending a grad school program that does not begin until August?1 point

Man, as a UWyo fan this sucks. I get the decision, but would have loved to see him stay put in Laramie.1 point

there is a guy by the name Teyon Ware, that would be the reason. Again, it will be OU or Michigan.1 point

125 - McHenry has a good chance of getting to the QF. Wrestlestat has him beating Ferri of Kent State 10-5 and there is nothing in Ferri's results that make me think that McHenry is the dog here. He is a distinct underdog to Kaylor should they meet. McHenry's concerns have always been size and length. 133 - Ragusin got me legit thinking he is the dog in that 3-6 matchup. The Mendez match has me worried. I know Ragusin is chomping at the bit for a rematch with McGee. I hope he gets it and not in the consis. I am picking Ragusin to lose to Arujau in the finals, but I do think it ends up being much more competitive than folks think. His QF and Semi matches will be absokite dogfights. 141 - Honestly Mattin as the 1 seed surprised me a bit. Hardy and Vasquez aren't what I would call underdogs to him - I see the match being a grind for whomever makes it out. He has been lit, though, and I am picking him to make the finals and to beat Cornella there. 149 - I think this ends up being Lamer's coming out party. I think he thrills enroute to losing to Sasso in the finals. 157 - I don't see Lewan beating a healthy Coleman in the semis. I do see Scott beating Coleman and Lewan beating Scott, though. Then I see Lewan and Robb having a Lewan-esque match and Robb coming out on top this time. 165 - Unsure who they send, I assume Mattin. He just isn't bug enough for the grind here. A match or two win is possible, but depends on the draw. 174 - Walker at the 11? Easy money to outplace that. He will have a size (and speed) advantage on Conigliaro and nobody knows how good Romero will be yet. Taking my shot and saying Walker makes the finals. Lewis will destroy him - very bad match for Walker there. 184 - Finesilver has two of the three matchups possible here in which he will just be too horsed to compete. Hidlay is more of a brute and it will show. He can compete with PK, I think, the match just isn't going to happen, though. A 4th place finish is not out of the question. 197 - Bullock drawn in here? With the onky two I don't think he can competr with are Trumble and Sloan, the 1 and 2. He could go 0-2, though. This field is deep. If it is anybody other than Bullock I expect a winless weekend at 197. 285 - Parris will take 1st.1 point

133 Aaron Nagao of Minnesota will be in the hunt at the end of the season 141 Vance Vombaur of Minnesota also recently upset #9 Clay Carlson. He will likely be behind All-American Jake Bergeland this year though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Minnesota needs a 197 until Gavin Nelson is ready, but OU seems like a shoe in. Michigan would be my other bet I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

HS - Bob Zaro 60s, John Barna 80s. Mike Coyle only D1 AA until Brandon Paetzell 2020. Mike Rossetti D3 champ. Bob Stem state champ in 50s but more of a footballer. Played for Syracuse around time of Jim Brown/Ernie Davis. Hall of Fame as HS Coach. College- Mike Caruso, Darryl Burley probably a little ahead of Mike Frick, Mark Lieberman, Kirk Pendleton, Eddie Eichelberger. Bobby Weaver internationally.1 point

Well, I guess positive relationships between wrestling countries when the remainder of those countries are globally at odds is not such a big deal after all. But, I'll still take the open respect between Iran and US wrestling. Wrestling is doing what Olympic sports were designed to do, bring countries together for positive competition. Even chess can't claim to be doing that.1 point

Sounds like they weren't using the Flo software mat side but we're just broadcasting. Possibly scoring remotely.1 point
