ScottishSteel... tanxs sooooooooooooo much for the play by play! I HAD to watch straight thru... this was a once in a lifetime event for yours truly. My nephew RJ wrestled on the Roxbury High team w/ Luke's older brother Troy and we knew Luke from his youth wrestling days. AND I was watching Luke wrestled in HS and online. That fella works very hard at what he doing on the mat. GOLD... he's pure GOLD. Wow! D34 points

Hand up, I was not high enough on Stanich heading into this upcoming collegiate season. This dude is absolutely a title contender in my eyes. I think he is the clear cut #3 and I'll be very surprised if he's not in 1 takedown swing matches with Mendez/Hardy.3 points

The visits in the state of Iowa have been picking up with Dhabolt, Youngblutt, the lightweight (cant remember name off hand), and Schwab all getting some visits from the Iowa Schools UNI, ISU, and Iowa. The state of Iowa has a really good class for 2027. Also saw Hayden S visiting Cornell here soon. Be interesting to see where all of these kids land. Really good coverage on IAWrestle on rokfin, shout out to Ross Bartachek, he does a really good job with that site.3 points

David's path in 2024 was pretty insane. He beat Garvin (2x AA, potential to be 4x AA), Hamiti (2x AA, 1x champ), O'Toole (5x AA, 2x champ), Mesenbrink (2x AA, 1x champ- potential to be 3xer). When we look back on this bracket in 5-10 years, it will be up there as one of the hardest brackets of all time3 points

Valencia was 2-1 against woods and 6 seconds from being 3-0 I think that bracket probably could have had 3-4 different winners. In terms of wins I believe the Toprak and Dhzandubaev wins are better than any other current domestic 65kg guy has.2 points

55kg: Jayden Raney (Greco) 57kg: Roman Bravo-Young 57kg: Rin Sakamoto 61kg: Jax Forrest 74kg: Mirzo Khayitov 86kg: Zahid Valencia 125kg: Wyatt Hendrickson2 points

It is hard to unsee his clarion open match against Mendez for me. However, in the same breath I kind of feel like he would have been our best 65kg if he tried to make the senior team.2 points

This is evidently what TDS does to folks. The title of the article is a question and there's nothing in the article to suggest the answer is anything other than no.2 points

I don't see many perks with B. Kids get pushed to do things they don't want to do by parents with unfulfilled dreams. Parents have to spend tons of time and money shlepping their kid around the country - I'm talking tens of thousands of dollars a year. This prices out the majority of families and makes specializing in a youth sport the realm of rich people with flexible jobs. And it's not like the level of play is high enough to be objectively entertaining - you cheer and attend because you care about the person playing, not because a bunch of 10-16 year olds are executing incredible athletic techniques. A is better for kids and families. Life lessons, exercise, camaraderie, scheduling, more accessible to more people. And B is still absolutely an option if the kids are passionate about it but really in general athletics should be part of a well rounded growing up experience.2 points

So a novice investor outperforming every single professional organization every year is simply due to her husband's higher level of trading intelligence. Funny that he didn't have that level of success before her political career. All that land he bought that ended up being bought up by the government under eminent domain was a real stroke of luck. That was some real genius, but the risk was insane. Saying the Pelosis are just savy doesn't hold up with minimal scrutiny.2 points

I wish I would have saved the one that was "Wonder who wins between the Senior Asians 86 KG Champ from this year or some guy who medalled at U17s a few years ago" or something like that. Paraphrasing, but that message was delivered.2 points

I was an athlete escort at those championships and walked out the Sengal for that match. What's hard to see in the video is the smirk Satiev gave to his corner as he walked back to take par terre. My thought was.......oh shit. But even then I wasn't expecting 34 points.2 points

Kazakhstan is having a very nice tournament. Both Mirasolas lost to one and the kid at 61 looks phenomenal. Well ahead of Iran and Japan and not far off USA after day 2.1 point

Aubre Krazer going on Mat B right now; I tuned in to 1 - 1 Kazakhstan leading by criteria but Krazer picked up a stepout to make it 2 - 1 and that's what it'll be at the break1 point

Gotta think Van Dee wins that spot. Obviously anything can happen, but I think Ayoub will have to be head and shoulders better to win that spot. So I think the path is slim for him this year.1 point

A voice intoned, "Ladies and gentlemen…the star of Sanford and Son, Mister Redd Foxx!" The small band on the stage struck up the Sanford and Son theme: "Yum ta da-da, yum ta da-da da-da-dum, yum ta da-da…" Redd Foxx, resplendent in a tuxedo, his Norelco-shaved head gleaming in the follow-spot, strutted out on stage. He reached the microphone and peered out in the house. Then, after a moment or two, he screamed out in a loud voice — "I AIN'T DOIN' A SHOW FOR TEN FREAKIN' WHITE PEOPLE!" Then he turned and marched off the stage. The band struck up his theme again: "Yum ta da-da, yum ta da-da da-da-dum, yum ta da-da…" The lights came up, the waiters passed through the place distributing refunds…and the show was over.1 point

That Trump replaced with a bigger golf simulator. There is just no way around the fact that no president has wasted as much time golfing as Trump. Nor has anyone ever been as hypocritical about it. “If I win I may never see my property – I may never see these places again. But because I'm going to be working for you, I'm not going to have time to go golfing, believe me. Believe me. Believe me, folks.” And you believed.1 point

A. I completed college a long time ago. Paid it off a long time ago too. I worked for an international company for 28 years and met thousands of people from all over the world (including places like Iran, Pakistan, India and Trinidad). B. I couldn’t care less who does or doesn’t read what comments I make. It’s freedom to respond or not. As for nobody caring I think the threads I post in here have shown to be as or more interactive than say yours. C. Bored. Bahahhaahahahaha. This is entertainment and humor for me. D. As for leaving positive comments I think I’ll pass on taking advice from someone with Death to America as their signature. You consistently post pictures of Americas flag burning, evil pictures of Uncle Sam all while claiming death to America is not derogatory to the American people. You may want to practice what you preach before pushing your hypocrisy off on me. E. I just spent the weekend at the lake cabin with my wife, her sister, my kids, my kids spouse's my grand kids and all six of our dogs. I even snuck in a round of golf Sunday morning before I fired up the smoker full of rib's. This happens quite regularly so If I’m alone after that so be it. F. Yep it is my call Clean up your own yard then come ask me to clean up mine.1 point

Thanks! Those mid 90s OSU teams were the stuff of legends. I was a little kid in the stands every week just in absolute awe. It’s too bad there aren’t more recordings. Weigel of course was later and battled injuries but when he was healthy he was a tank. You wrestled Schmidt? Have you recovered? Haha jk would love to hear more about your wrestling experience in general. The board benefits from hearing from athletes.1 point

2024 featured five (and counting??) previous or future NCAA champions. A better analysis would be comping against the 2008 149 bracket. KOT and MM would be 4 timers if it weren't for the triangle of death between those 2 and Carr. All three are legitimate world title threats - no one will beat Burroughs but multiple world medals between multiple wrestlers speaks volumes to the depth of the bracket.1 point

it's a great question. I have asked @andegre, but he may not be checking these boards as he has not yet responded over the years. goes without saying that I am greatly appreciative of wrestlestat and I have donated money over the years. I just don't know what logic it uses to make its (re)classifications1 point

I was considering the 5th year points as a part of why they would be one of the highest scoring brackets ever. But to be fair, Olejnik and Carr each still only had 4 tournaments, and you could just take away the points that Hall and O'Toole earned their TRFR years, assuming they would have redshirted otherwise, for a more accurate picture. Unless we are going to take away Aaron Brooks' fourth title, we can't discredit Olejnik and Carr for their extra year of eligibility after losing their 2020 tournament.1 point

Should see Kyler Larkin in at ASU as well. Would think he would be an immediate impact guy. He is coming off a greyshirt as well. Those two in the lineup will make ASU better right away.1 point
