  1. Wouldn't be surprised if Rin cuts down to 125 and challenges for the starting spot
  2. So if he wins 1 match next year, Metcalf is clearly a better coach than Taylor, right?
  3. Frosts aren't going anywhere, Paniro hasn't AA'd
  4. Sorry, sorry. Uhhhh 8th is clearly the best place to get at NCAAs- it's high enough to be considered a good year, but poor enough that you still have room to improve to motivate the guys. 8th place is way better than getting 6th or something like that
  5. Wasn't Merrill a RS Freshman this year? I thought I read that Berge is probably going 184 while Ryder medical redshirts to get his shoulder right
  6. Ech really isn't that big of a 141, and he was an even smaller 149. I believe Ech thinks he is bigger than what he actually is and will struggle with some guys size at 149.
  7. He's been working towards US citizenship and wants to compete for the US at worlds/the Olympics. And, Freestyle is by far what he is best at. I believe he does want to eventually get into fighting though, so could definitely see him becoming one of the better MMA fighters from this batch of AAs
  8. I don't see AJ ever coming close to beating Yonger in freestyle. I thought AJ might have a chance in folkstyle with mat wrestling (happy to be proven wrong), but Yonger is a different beast with freestyle wrestling
  9. Iowa State: 125- Castillo 133- Grice/Reineri 141- E Frost 149- Ech 157- J Frost/Paniro/K Naak 165- Euton 174- Gaitan 184- Bartelt/T Naak/Transfer 197- Floyd/Transfer Hwt- Merrill/Herrera
  10. There was plenty of black and gold in the upper deck, but I definitely think the snow kept some of them (and other Cyclone fans) away
  11. Echemendia technically has 2 years of eligibility remaining. Could be a very old senior lol
  12. David's path in 2024 was pretty insane. He beat Garvin (2x AA, potential to be 4x AA), Hamiti (2x AA, 1x champ), O'Toole (5x AA, 2x champ), Mesenbrink (2x AA, 1x champ- potential to be 3xer). When we look back on this bracket in 5-10 years, it will be up there as one of the hardest brackets of all time
  13. He's going to look great after training with Yonger and Herrera during his redshirt year.
  14. Dean Peterson at 125 over Stevo? When Stevo AA'd last year and beat Dean in the blood round?
  15. Could be, but if Euton can stay healthy I know the staff really likes him. Issue is he hasn't been able to stay healthy. Regardless, lots of interesting weight battles will happen this fall in Ames
