  1. 2018, Lee's first title. Went Lee, Suriano, Tomasello, Lizak, Cruz, Rivera, Dresser, and Moisey as your top 8, with Piccininni losing R12. 2010 also quite good as referenced above.

  12. Since the turn of the century, what was the most talented bracket at 125 pounds? I included the four years that I thought were the deepest in the poll, and the podium finishes for those years are shown below. Feel free to tell me why I'm wrong and any brackets that should be considered tougher than my four nominees. Let the reminiscing commence. 2006 2007 2009 2014

  13. I know, I know. I already did a returning points thread. But now there is more. This time I am including redshirts. For a returning redshirt I used the points (and weight) scored the last time they wrestled. More data = more fun. So here we go. Returning AA's Lets zig a bit before we zag. This one is about career honors rather than last year's points. 133 returns the most total AA honors with 15 from 12 wrestlers. 197 has the most AA's per wrestler with at least one career AA (1.8). 141 has both quality and quantity with 8 wrestlers who have earned an average of 1.75 AA's per. No weight has more than one returning champ, but 141 is also home to the only 2 time champ in Ohio State's Jesse Mendez. Only 184 and 197 do not have a returning champ. Note: AA honors may have been earned at a different weight than the 2026 weight listed for the wrestler on wrestlestat.

  15. i'll let your reputation arbitrate this one. Pro tip, if I was a sycophant whose sole purpose was mean-spirited farcical attacks on anything that threatened my precious, I wouldn't drop the act to desperately rebuke the idea that you're a fan of the team you shill for, it makes the grift really easy to ignore.

  27. No one. No one promising coming up either. We have traditionally been weak at HW, our last world champ prior to Zare was in 1989 and of course Ghasemi with his olympic gold. But you can get a lot of years and medals out of a good HW. They have time to produce someone. It's not a big deal as no country has any depth at HW right now except maybe Azerbaijan with their two transfers ( Masoumi and the Paris olympic bronze Georgian guy). And by the time Masoumi is even allowed to wrestle for them the Georgian guy could no longer be a factor as he is 33. Who is that in your profile pic anyway, lol. He looks familiar.

  28. Top Ten Teams Returning Points Hopefully this one is not too tough to read. I attempted to capture both transfers and returning redshirts (and the combination of the two) in a single chart. For example, Oklahoma State: Has three returning scorers from last year's team (orange), And 1 returning from redshirt (black). They also picked up an Iowa State transfer who redshirted last year, And an Arizona State transfer who did not. Note: These totals do not reflect any lineup decisions. For example, PSU has 8 returning scorers of varying vintages, but some of them may not start while being replaced by a wrestler with no tournament scoring history.

  29. And finally a table. Horizontal change represent consolidation in a weight. For example, 184 gained points from both 174 and 197. Vertical change represents dispersion from a weight. For example, 197 gave up points to 174and 285. Reading in both directions shows both sides of the coin. For example, 157 gave up 33.5 points to 165, but received 31 from 149.

  31. Pretty Picture Time Speaking of moving around weights, here are two ways to visualize the movement of returning points between weights. First a Chord Diagram. The color of the chord represents the previous weight. The destination weights are listed within the colored sections. The numbers around the outside are the point totals (also represented by the width of the chords).

  43. I know him personally, and you are right. GREAT kid. He is the baby brother of two pretty damn good D2 wrestlers. Listen to this room I put together for a weekend. Brady, Zan Fugitt, Gage Walker, two D2 hammers, and my kid. Let me say this. Zan AA was not a shock to the dudes that know him. It will not be a shock when Brady AA, well not to us anyway.

  44. Fargo was less than 3 weeks ago and high school grads can wrestle there. I believe they'll be removed in the next ranking. I don't want to speak for Bray (who does the high school rankings) but I think it's a better projection of where a kid is actually at heading into college than if they were removed 3 months ago. Think Mesenbrink after U20s his senior year. He made a huge jump that summer before his first year of college.

  45. Quite the team Shannon was apart of in High School. CBC in St. Louis coached by Cornell Robinson, previously of Wyoming Sem. Shannon, Vinny Zerban, Malik Johnson and Cevion Severado. Wyatt Henson also the years he wasn’t in PA. Johnson was a Greco World Champ and 4x state champ. Top recruit in his weight I believe. Him and Severado wrestled for a year or so at Mizzou. Severado was also good at Greco. Vinny went back to Illinois his hometown for his Sr year and the other three had graduated. To think for all the success the four of them had in high school, that only Vinny would AA and that Johnson and Severado would leave Mizzou ending up at Lindenwood and Grain Valley for Severado and a community college for Johnson.
