The other side of the story is that they get the scraps of CA recruiting because they are a 100% self -supported wrestling program. It is difficult to give full scholarships to top prospects from CA when 1) you don't have the budget, (2) you are competing against Stanford, Cal Poly, Cal Baptist, ASU and Oregon State who all recruit very heavily there, (3) your facilities aren't great and (4) you are located in Bakersfield. I am sure they would love to implement your strategy if budget allowed. They won 1 total match at the Pac-12 tourney last year...that is correct they went 1-26 the entire tourney. The fans, myself included, cheered like crazy when Esocbedo took 5th. You don't think that having 2 potential AA and possibly a finalist isn't creating some buzz around CSUB? Last year they averaged around 200 per dual...I am guessing that when LR comes to town and Ferrari and Little go at it, they will have a few more than 200 just to see that match. So having said all of that, let me flip the question, who are these parents and wrestlers who actually had CSUB on their list that might not go now because Ferrari was there for a year? They have created buzz around the program, and IF Ferrari keeps clean, it could be a win win for both.... or it could completely blow up as I have acknowledged many times.3 points

And except whether the science - physics in particular - is racist and sexist. Then don't trust the physics. Math, though often considered "not a science" by scientists is also something not to trust due to its inherent racist sexism. Facts are also racist sexists. Don't trust them. Trust the science we tell you is science. Science, thy name be Fauci - but only trust his corrected science answers because his first science answers are often wrong.2 points

We have that tax here in WA, and it is up for deletion via initiative. The carbon tax adds 50 cents to a gallon of gas, which is why we have the next to highest gas prices i tnhe nation. The money collected does not go to roads but to special interest groups, that may or may not do anything about CO2 in the atmosphere. Not only that, but they do not monitor how well the law is doing at reducing CO2. It's almost as if it were a giant money grab with no real concern about CO2 levels at all. mspart2 points

Beyond that and he's only seventeen... " 1) He has bonus points in every D1 state match he has wrestled. 2) He has never lost to an Ohio opponent 3) He has never given up an offensive point, in his entire IN SEASON high school career. I’m in an evacuation zone but I’m abnormally high for my neighborhood in elevation. The barriers are in fact for wind, not water. My neighborhood is an evacuation zone because of the southeast corner of the neighborhood which lies low and gets flooded all the time. I’ve never had water get near my structure.2 points

um, Hillary is still the only person fined by the GOVT for working with the Russians during that election as far as peace deals... https://2017-2021.state.gov/the-abraham-accords/2 points

Although you asked the great wrestling minds for their opinions, I'll offer up grey-shirt freshman Simon Ruiz at 174 for Cornell as a dark horse AA candidate. In his year at SCRTC, his only loss was to Rocco Welch 4-1 in SV, and he beat AA (6th) Wolak 5-1.2 points

how about just one? just one example/way in which Russia got something from America recently via Trump? gimme something. something like Joe Biden admitting on camera that he withheld funding from Ukraine unless they fired a prosecutor that was investigating his son. or Trump's son on a Russian Board of Director's like Hunter was in Ukraine. and Joe meeting with them. gimme something like that.2 points

how and when did russia interfere with an election? and how did Trump 'look the other way' alternatively, Hillary paid for an investigation into Russia-Trump ties, and when they found nothing, they made things up and presented them as fact knowing they were false. pure election interference. of course, she was penalized nothing. and then? i think you have your timeline wrong. Trump was not the incumbent / in office in 2016 (the Clinton election) in what way did he 'openly ask for russia's help' deals to do what? what did Russia benefit via Trump? via anyone? the entire MSM parrots this Russian boogeyman theory and doinks like you swallow it wholesale without ever thinking it through. what has Russia ever gotten via the US recently? nefarious or otherwise? via Trump or otherwise? you're following ghost stories without any predicate or payoff. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Accords2 points

The one movie that I walked out of the theater was the 1982 remake of The Thing. The graphic morphing of the sled dogs turning in the cage scene really put me in flight mode... I heard that the other graphic scenes, that my brothers told yours truly, were even more, uh... shuddering to behold. (They thought it was... real neat!) The other movie that just plain pissed me off (because all of the hype AND my wife insisted that I take her to see it) was the Blair Witch Project . (That was 81 mins of my life that I wasn't going to get back... not to mention the cost of tickets to boot!) D31 point

What should "dawn on you" is the fact that nobody has left the border open. Nobody. The "open border" is nothing but a dumb myth perpetuated by dopes like you and fake news. In 2023, the Budget for US Customs and Border Protection was $25 billion dollars. If you think that is somehow equivalent to "leaving the border open"... you are complete idiot.1 point

Trump looked the other way when Russia interfered with US elections, and then openly asked for Russian help to defeat Hilary Clinton. Imagine if a current candidate asked for that exact same help today. That would go very, very badly. Your memory seems quite short. Although he denied them, there is proof that Trump had deals with Moscow - we'll never know the depths of them. You say "Trump also signed peace agreements in the middle east" - really, which ones? We're on a discussion board - let's discuss. No need to be rude, just good old fashioned discussion.1 point

Poor Tyreek in his $300k-ish car, being pulled out after breaking multiple laws and showing attitude from the start. However bad you think he was "roughed up" - it wasn't a 1/100th of a single NFL play he performs every Sunday. I get that lawyers are liars by profession. But, you can take a day off when you're posting here.1 point

Try to answer all, and keep posted as it goes and I’m able. Appreciate the thoughts everyone. I do not have a two story house but I know what you’re thinking, and like I said I have plans for all. For a flash flood I have the kayak and dry bag ready. For a surge problem I have a bag packed and in the jeep, cooler ready to fill with ice and food. For a roof off issue, I have the right room picked out for the oh shit room for this one, will get the proper items ready for that in the morning. I’m kinda feeling like we’re going to be okay here though. Get some real nasty weather and will lose power, but okay. Don’t assume silence as in I’m in trouble; just could be while before I’m able to get on. I’ll post and send any pics if I’m able to get anything interesting.1 point

I enjoy Bassett's high energy wrestling and he seems like a good kid, but this has got to be one of the most protracted "Advertisements for Myself" in sports history. He started off eliminating 7 schools each week and it was kind of fun. Then he went to 3 and it became more "ho hum". Now it is down to 1 each week with what (?) 17 still left. (Pitt Johnstown coaches are waiting with baited breath .... NOT.) What's next? Will he eliminate a letter or a vowel in the name of universities? Will he hide clues in locker room jock straps? Will he turn to Wordle or crossword puzzles with hints? Will there be prizes hidden in cereal boxes across the country? Will he use skywriting planes to announce and eliminate the penultimate university (scratch that: it might actually be interesting)? Will he surprise all of us and announce that he is skipping college to focus on freestyle or to take up Inter-gender wrestling a la Andy Kaufman? And will we have a final answer before Christmas in 2026? Stay tuned to "Bo Doesn't Know ... or Does He"?1 point
