Courts are becoming less and less amused by the swampies (i.e. agencies of the executive branch) violating the constitution by acting through intermediaries to do what they are banned from doing. The Bidenistas are about to be convicted (I use the term loosely) of First Amendment violations of US citizens. Additionally, maybe the overturning of the fiasco formerly known as the Chevron Ruling will provide a bit more protection for us against the swamp people. Congress has abdicated but at least this Supreme Court has some members who seem to understand that their role is to protect the people from the government - a limited power government - so that the people do not have to resort to more drastic means of putting the government in its rightful place.

The brother thing is what it is. There's family members I'd rather not speak to, not because of their political opinions, but I just don't want to be around their drama. I can't really avoid reading the boards, since I use Tapatalk mostly - so these busy topics show up at the top - and sometimes the differing of opinions and the wild posts that follow are fun reading. I'll lurk, but more in a people-watching sort of way. I'm not leaving the site. I find the almost blind faith some people have in their side of the argument, no matter which side it is, to be comical. It doesn't impact my view of them personally, especially those whom I've met in person. I'm just going back to my self-imposed ban on talking about politics, it's easier to interact in a non-contentious manner when you strip out the no-win divisive topics like this.

as much as we talk about it, we don't have a great consensus as to what stalling is. How long after a break can you call stalling? Is it about holding ground or attacking? What is attacking? If you stalled your butt off in the first period should you get hit quicker in the third? If you were hyper offensive for the first six minutes are you entitled to stall the last minute? There are a dozen questions no one is entitled to answer, which makes we think we need a step out and figure out the grounded stuff later.

I think the fear is the government will not stop at people who are rich. Federal income tax started as an attempt to tax the rich. The Illinois tollway was only put up to pay for that one toll road. Why is it a problem, they pay back the loan don't they? Let's take a billionaire like Musk, say he has no car, no house, living out of hotels. Let's say he's got 3 or 4 billion dollar businesses and is living on company expense account. He is paying sales tax etc., his businesses are generating a billion $+ of economic activity on which taxes are being paid. He could take a $million/year salary but isn't. So why does it matter that he doesn't have income and not paying income tax when he's generating all this other economic activity that does result in tax revenue?
