stumbled across an interview with Jason Kelber the other day. got me thinking, what wrestlers have wins over both Brands brothers? Kelber does (HS over Tom, college over Terry) Kendall Cross (college over Tom, freestyle over Terry) maybe some other Iowa guys in HS like Chad Zaputil and Dan Knight? Alan Fried beat Tom in college and maybe one or both of them at junior nationals in freestyle? anyone obvious that I'm missing?3 points

What a horrible thing Milei has done. This upsets the apple cart. No one has the right to stop inflation dead in its tracks. What is he thinking? This is the worst thing that could have happened. A man of the right telling it like it is and showing the world he meant it and that he was right. Nothing could be more dangerous. I'm sure the Argentinians are just calling for his head right now. They were expecting the prices to go up and have been saving money to cover the load. Now what will they do with the extra money they don't need? That's just a crime. mspart2 points

Yes you are wrong. How does this affect me? It is taxation without representation. Someone has to pay for all of this and the constitution says the legislative branch must pass a bill if it is to become a law. That has not happened. Why do I care? I care because Biden is actively trying to make the constitution irrelevant. That goes against my interests as a US Citizen. The person in charge of fixing a problem has to show leadership and get the legislature to agree and pass a bill. It is called being a statesman. Instead, Biden just does it like a dictator. Why is it not bad with Biden but oh so bad with Trump? You want to keep a known dictator in power and keep an ex President who never acted like a dictator. You should really look at this more carefully. It doesn't matter if a bill that was scuttled could do a better job or not. It is not right, legal, or constitutional for a President to legislate law which is what Biden is doing. If you are ok with that, you better be ok with whoever does it. Because that is what you are agreeing to with the position you are taking. Yes you are wrong. I just explained how in this and my previous post. mspart2 points

Sunderland's record was worse than Lorenzo, Fritz, and Sanderson but it was somewhat comparable to Koll at least at NCAAs. Koll had a much better dual record. Sunderland produced the same number of national champs in 3 fewer seasons than Koll. Sunderland also had 27 AAs in 11 seasons vs 20 in 14 for Koll. in Koll's era there were only 6AAs/weight vs 8AA/weight in Sunderland's. Still as a percent of available AA placements Sunderland's total was higher. Another consideration in this comparison is that not all wrestlers received a consolation berth when Koll coached which would depress his totals. Comparing their team placements which controls these rule differences it's still close. Koll's teams had a medial NCAA placement of 12.5. Sunderland is slightly better at 12. The top performances also slightly favor Sunderland. PSU's 3rd place finish in 2008 was better than any under Koll and Sunderland also produced 4 AAs 3 separate times and PSU never had more than 3 AAs in a season under Koll. Clarion, ESU, Lehigh, Lock Haven, Pitt, and Temple finished ahead of PSU at NCAAs during Koll's tenure. Lehigh, Penn, Edinboro, and Lock Haven, finished ahead of PSU at NCAAs and Pitt tied with PSU one year under Sunderland.2 points

Problems for whom? Democrats' goal is to have illegal aliens registered in many states and then have those ballots cast in every one of those states. Illegal aliens will get to vote more often than any legal citizen anywhere. You are a racist if you don't think this is a good idea and a election denier if you think this is evidence of election fraud in any way.2 points

In Philly yesterday (6/22) Trump said he told Dana White that White should set up a “migrant league of fighters” and then have the migrant champions fight UFC champions. Very distasteful remarks IMO. You can discuss problems and solutions without dehumanizing people.2 points

Says this ^^^ which is patently false and then posts this: can't fix stupid. just remember when you go to the poll to vote for Biden that he wrote the 1994 crime bill and voted against school integration.2 points

40 years later I vividly remember not being able to move off my back after he threw me. I was a freshman and my senior captain came up to me after the match and gave me a titty-twister and said, "what's your excuse, you have two of these". (Lewis was born without one pectoralis muscle).1 point

I wrestled Lewis a couple years before this. It was in a folkstyle collegiate open, he had moved up to 142 and planted me in a similar way. I had never felt more pinned in my life.1 point

TPT says this is a good thing if it makes you feel good. Forget about if it is legal. Does it make him feel good? If so, everything is just fine, no need for further investigation. Oh, unless it doesn't make him feel good. With the shoe on the other foot, all of the sudden that is not a good thing. mspart1 point

i reiterate - you voted for a man that vehemently opposed school integration because, and i quote 'it would create a racial jungle' and flaunted, for years, writing the 1994 crime bill that black people, to this day, rail about. now do you have any retort other than vapid 'yeah, but you're racist' inanities?1 point

Yes the median is the middle value. If there are an odd number of values this is the one in the middle. If there is an even number of values then it is the mean of the two middle values. Koll coached for 14 years which is an even number. The middle values are 19.25 and 23 points. Up until sometime in the 1990s it was possible to earn 1/4 of a point at NCAAs. A fall was 1 bonus, a TF was 0.75, and a major was 0.5 at some point. The average of these two is 21.125 or displayed to 0.1 precision 21.1. I kind of disagree on the merits of using the mean for NCAA placement, which was the only stat where I omitted it. Often, and especially for lower point totals, a difference of a few points can mean several places. Coaches don't coach that many years so a single off year can move the placement mean more significantly than the points. For Sunderland his mean placement was 14.6 and for Koll it was 13.6. Over 2 points is added to Sunderland's average by a single year, 2002, when they finished 35th. I omitted median from both AA and individual national champs. In the case of champs it was useless - they are both 0. For AAs it didn't seem that useful either. For Koll it's 1.5 and for Sunderland it is 2. I think the mean is more useful here too. I was consistent here. I also didn't count Sunderland's AA placements in his totals either.1 point

It's helped here in the PNW. We are cool today and yesterday. Temps were up into the low 80's fri and sat. That map above is kind of funny. We are just having weather. East coast is having global warming. My wife is headed to Boston and NH and is concerned about the heat wave. Temps the next week will peak at 88F. Highs this week will be in high 70s and low 80s for the most part. That's unbelievably hot. But its a wet heat so its worse. Yeah, I lived in MN when it was 95F and 1000000% humidity. Funny, I'm still hear typing away. mspart1 point

What is more curious to me is that it was Connor's only match. Cole wrestled the balance of the weekend at 215lbs for Wiscy at 215lbs with Hopke up at 285lbs. Both are anticipated to be 285lbs next season and Cole Mirasola has been ranked higher at 285lbs since ~?Christmas? That aspect of it all is more curious to me than Connor (#2 190lber) wrestling Ross (#4 215lber) at 215lbs. You would expect that match between two Top 4 gents to be nice and tight.1 point

Absolutely, but no ones starts surfing, skateboarding , and breakdancing to compete and with anyone other than themselves. Unlike basball and wrestling, competing with others to win isnt even on the radar.1 point
