  4. Todrank (who at best was below average for DI) knew he was going to get blasted, but he was wrestling up from 149, lasted longer than expected, and scored legitimate points against Nolf. It was stupid to taunt him, but he still had a better night than he expected. He fights MMA now. He said this about that match during an interview: “My whole wrestling career, I was a s***head,” Todrank laughed. “I talked s*** during matches, I did little antics here and there; I did this my whole career. It was [Nolf’s] senior night, so I had come to the decision that I wasn’t going to do my antics or talk mess. At a point, he shoved me and I kind of shoved him back, then the way I wrestle, I try to circle and create angles. He got frustrated trying to chase me down, so he double foot jumped at me and I heard a whole section of the audience laugh at me. When I heard them laugh at me I was like, ‘All right, f*** it, I’m turning it on now.’”

  11. The quality of life was significantly better under Trump for myself and everyone I know compared to Biden, and the difference isn't close. So, even if Trump meant what he said in jest, I will vote for him because presidential policy outcomes matter more than tact. As if these 'gotchas' matter... I do not relate to these people ------------ Policy Outcomes Over Personality: You have two choices of mechanics to get your car fixed. Who do you choose? Mechanic 1: Rude but fixes the car perfectly every time. Mechanic 2: Well-mannered but makes mistakes and doesn't always fix the problem. You have two choices of surgeons. Who do you choose? Surgeon 1: Brash bedside manner with good skill and a high success rate in the procedure you need. Surgeon 2: Friendly and empathetic bedside manner, with a much lower success rate for the procedure you need. I favor Trump and pick Mechanic 1 and Surgeon 1 because I prioritize effective outcomes over personal demeanor for those tasks. To be fair... Personality Over Outcomes: In a different context, consider you have two choices of teachers. Who do you choose for your child? Teacher 1: Great knowledge and curriculum but is harsh. Teacher 2: Decent understanding and curriculum but is kind and encouraging. I will select Teacher 2, prioritizing my child's emotional well-being and learning environment over the teacher's superior knowledge. The context is different and matters. Why do people engage in self-harm by holding onto the belief that the last four years were superior to the preceding four years, and advocating for four more years of discomfort?

  15. I always thought of this as an example of when taunting goes right. My wife is the quiet type who does not like to draw attention. I am...well, let's just say opposites attract. At my first job we had a monthly poker game for small stakes. When I told my wife that when I got up in the game the rest of the table was going to hear about it, she thought that was a bad idea because I might lose. I thought it was a good idea to get my licks in when I was winning, also because I might lose. Kyle Todrank is my people. He knew he was going to go down in flames, so when he scored a fluke takedown, he had to let everyone know about it.

  27. It is sad that word games (euphemisms) are necessary to help people tolerate their personal decision to end an innocent life. That's not a baby, its a fetus. It's not a fetus, its a clump of cells. It's not alive. That's not deliberate murder, that's termination of a human life. No, its a medical procedure. No, its abortion. And then the way to get everyone to agree is to focus on the extremes... as if the majority wants the mother to die at the cost of her newborn. Those fascists want you to die! The don't believe in personal autonomy. Lies. Deceiving themself; too cowardly to face the truth of their decision. Too self-indulgent to care about the new life they created. The machine has been in the business of destroying the family for 100 years and counting. These young mothers probably can't even make their bed, how are they going to raise a child?

  31. 1. Are you in fear of losing your job if you share commonly held opinions at work or in public? Fear because a conservative is going to call your employer and try to get you fired? Karens and Chads exist on the conservative side too. Most conservatives I know will refrain from policing your freedom of speech. They won't invite you to their party but they aren't going to try to ruin your life. 2. It is better this year than last year, but maybe that's just me staying away from the city after the crimes committed against me. 3. Something like 19% of Biden supporters believe that having children and marriage is important. When is the last time you saw a TV show with a nuclear family? My children don't even know if they want to have children and one doesn't know about marriage. And this is tragic. Children raised apart from the care of both natural parents consistently experience lower developmental outcomes. A century ago (1920) almost all children (above 90 percent) grew to age eighteen with intact married biological parents; by 2020, less than a third (29 percent) could expect to do so (Parker, Horowitz, and Rohal 2015). Today less than 60 percent of children even begin life with married parents (Ventura 2009; Martin et al. 2019), and half of those who do will be denied the residential care of one or both parents before age eighteen (Amato 2000). link And we conservatives/all are getting force fed cultural support for abortion and self-interest over traditional family values.

  33. Except that in Hunter's case, the evidence was overwhelming showing him guilty. He didn't put up much of a defense. He was hoping for jury nullification. Trump's case was nebulous with no real indictment. Here is an example and all read about the same. TWENTY-EIGHTH COUNT: AND THE GRAND JURY AFORESAID, by this indictment, further accuses the defendant of the crime of FALSIFYING BUSINESS RECORDS IN THE FIRST DEGREE, in violation of Penal Law §175.10, committed as follows: The defendant, in the County of New York and elsewhere, on or about October 18, 2017, with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof, made and caused a false entry in the business records of an enterprise, to wit, a Donald J. Trump account check and check stub dated October 18, 2017, bearing check number 002944, and kept and maintained by the Trump Organization. The felony allegation is bolded and underlined by me. This is the same wording in all counts. What was that "another crime" cited by the indictment? This is why I have said over and over that this case should never have gone to trial. The crime he was alleged to have done in 2017 ran out of statue of limitations 6 years ago. In order to bring it alive again it had to be connected to a further crime. And the indictment should specify what that further crime was. But it doesn't. It only says that he had "intent to commit another crime". What other crime? You can't allege a crime has been committed without specifying what that crime was. This case should never have been brought to court and when it did, it should have been dismissed because of lack of specificity. And to this day, no one knows what the jury determined was the other crime because the judge said the jury could pick and choose what they wanted. That is a kangaroo court. And the appeal, if there is one, will show that. The only way this is not appealed is if the judge declares a mistrial because of the facebook post saying ahead of time the jury would convict Trump. That was on the court's facebook page. I'm not convinced it is legit. Neither is Jonathan Turley. Why? Because the judge did not investigate the matter to even find out who posted that. It could be real, it could be a plant. But the judge made it public and told the defense about it anyway. This case is all kinds of screwed up from the DA to the court. mspart

  34. Technically correct but intellectual bullshit. We could get into the details, digging deeper. Were Biden's job new or recovered? Are Biden's jobs public or private? Are Biden's jobs full-time or part-time... Did my wife start working again because Biden created the job or because the purchase power is down? How are small businesses doing? Put that aside. Given an equal environment, who is more likely to create jobs that increase the worker's quality of life with more substance and breadth, without growing the government and national debt?

  35. Is culture a big word with many slices to it? Is culture based on actions? Does having your 'side' in charge create empowerment to act? Did President Biden have an impact on culture? aggressively address inflation (no) condemn antisemitic comments from the left (no) enable the worst influx of illegal immigrants in history in consecutive years (yes) write off student debt (yes) portray half the country as evil, anti-democratic monsters (yes) Did President Trump have an impact on culture? Trump communicated a vision of making America great again, positively impacting nationalism. He incentivized bringing jobs back to America, which had real effects. He influenced power back to the states on abortion through Supreme Court judges. He implemented measures to slow illegal immigration while expressing support for legal immigration. The President impact is undeniably substantial. I've seen this on a 5K to 170K employee scale working for corporations with changing CEOs.

Apparently, IDF is not causing the destruction that has been reported by Hamas. mspart

  38. My guess he will not get prison time. 1st offense. I'm guessing he will get a probation of some sort and may get a pardon but Joe has said he won't do that. Maybe Trump will pardon him if Joe won't. mspart

  39. RL, you are onto something important here. It is much larger than the EV portion of the climate hoax and the whole point of this thread. The whole "renewable energy" snake oil bottle is full of "wind and sun are free so this climateering is good for the planet and good for your finances" schtick. Then the subsidies, higher costs for all energy, mandates, government coercion, outlawing gas stoves, putting butt plugs in farting cows, paper straws, no plastic bags then we get dog poop from the bottom of reusable bags on grocery counters (green is not clean!), etc. comes in.

  40. This place might be slightly ahead of Twitter in its women’s hoops knowledge. Who here cared before … how many here have actually been to a WNBA game?

  41. There is opportunity cost lost to skipping a grade no ? Feed. Home room board utilities heat etc….. not to mention driving him around for training and what not. Did he have to pay the school to “not attend”? If private I bet yes. If public prolly not. After this “year off” I’m essentially paying for the same stuff again. After that and world class training and club …. Now betting the public to help foot the bill is sus.

  42. How do you know bigger programs weren’t after him and he chose UVU anyway? Good for him and UVU.

  43. I wasn't strongly opposed to or in favor of the 3 pt change, but the whole thing seemed a lot like the Spinal Tap "this one goes to 11" bit.

  45. Marcus blaze over the last 18 months has wrestled Anthony knox twice Jax Forrest twice Ben Davino three times Nick suriano Nico Megaludis Nasir Bailey Luke Lilledahl Leo Deluca twice Jordyn Rayney once Brayden Palmer on a one day weigh in 12 hours after the weigh in (he was probably 140+) Im probably missing some. Of all those matches hes been takedown 4 times once by forrest, once by palmer, once by davino and once by suriano. I think hes a 133/141 and college but his defense is probably the best ive ever seen and hes developed into a really good leg attacker on top of having a really good slide bide and go behind. I think Duke is also absolutely unreal but in terms of nitpicking he seems to let guys in a bit more often and his gas tank is a little suspect to me. All that being said I think Blaze has a really good shot at being a 4x champ not that you can really predict that but his resume is just unreal to me.
