Penn state does not get anywhere the level of support that the football team gets , they view themselves as a football school for whatever reason and even the football team is miles and miles behind in terms of NIL when compared to Ohio state , Michigan and sec schools they are still a football school..penn states support outside of hiring Cael came around the time of the first 3 peat while penn state football was trying to build back still from the ncaa death sentence so they needed to embrace the only national champs in the school i always assumed Logan would be the next Ohio state coach , he’s on the staff , 4x ncaa champ , world champ , from Ohio. I feel if he wants the job it’s his . I see Synder mentioned a lot but he wants to wrestle until hes 40 and I don’t think that plan has changed , honestly I can see him wrestling another 10 years until Cael retires then him replacing Cael , they are alot more similar in personalities then almost any of the PSU guys . Dake definitely isn’t taking a backseat to administers , he was pretty out spoken about the Cornell bureaucrats back in 2020, he would need to be with an AD with a similar viewpoint on the world and that’s asking for alot with all that Dake believes ..curious to see what Dake does after the Olympics, his father meant everything to him and his wrestling, he mentioned it like they were always taking this journey together , I could see him taking a break from wrestling after he retires I think most assume JB is going to be a great head coach but i think he’s more suited to maybe running an RTC or OTC . He would recruit great at first but he’s not really a friendly guy and idk if he could handle not winning at program for 2-3 years . He would need a scenario where he’s stepping into an instant winning situation bc I think with any prolonged losing athletes and coaches would probably start to sour on his attitude , I don’t think people realize how arrogant he really is so I don’t think he would handle a booster or admin telling him how to do his job very well. If he stepped into iowa to replace brands I could see it working but him replacing manning ? Yearly underachievers with a low budget RTC in the middle of nowhere ? I think that would eventually turn ugly3 points

And not to hate on Iowa, but if Spencer was this freaking good already, seems they kinda botched a sure thing. Almost criminal to prioritize his college career over world and Olympic medals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Ok State has just vaulted back to the top of the pyramid by hiring DT. I think Iowa could get right back in the game with a few hires: Head coach: Jordan Burroughs Associate head coach: J'den Cox Associate head coach: James Green Yes, this means firing the Brands but replacing them with the GOAT in JB and Olympic and World medalists in Cox and Green. Any reason why Iowa shouldn't do this?2 points

Pollution is still bad here for those reasons. I know Fantastic Cafe - but I didn't realize they had any options for me. I'll have been vegan for nine years on May 31st. In the old days though, that sounds like it has my name on it. I still love greasy food - I only avoid animal products for ethical reasons - not for health.2 points

Finally watched this video. Oh man. I've always liked Brooks but that wasn't a good look at all. First he says/implies Taylor and others were somehow trying to structure PSU practices in a way that was harmful to him. Like... huh? Then he basically says that his win over Taylor should prove beyond a doubt that his religion is the correct one and Taylor's beliefs are wrong. LOL. I dunno Aaron, are you sure Taylor's win last year didn't prove *his* beliefs are right and *yours* are wrong? Crazy. I loathe this "I won therefore my religion is the right one" BS, and to foist that mindset on a longtime teammate is just way out of line. Interviews like this are also pretty much disqualifying for any coaching position in the near future. If you are a school looking for a coach or assistant coach, you have to worry that he's going to give preferential treatment to those who share his Christian beliefs, and discriminate against those who don't, both in how he recruits and how he coaches guys. BTW, whoever said Basch is like CP times 1000 (or something like that) had it right. Man that guy is hard to watch. Could his nose have been any further up Brooks' butt?2 points

Unfortunately I don't think Zain gets this turn if its the first match of the day. Both guys were in their fourth match, but Zain was obviously aerobically superior, cause he was obviously able to recover between matches way more.2 points

Olympic qualifier tallies by nation are listed below. We ended up with 26 nations having 5+ qualifiers total, and all 3 styles had 16 nations with at least 3 qualifiers in that style. There were 17 nations with at least one qualifier in all 3 styles and 17 more nations with wrestlers qualified in 2 styles. TOTAL (5+), 26 nations: AIN (Russia): 16 United States: 15 Japan: 13 Azerbaijan: 12 AIN (Belarus): 11 China: 11 Egypt: 11 Iran: 11 Turkey: 11 Cuba: 10 Kyrgyzstan: 10 Algeria: 8 Mongolia: 8 Kazakhstan: 7 Uzbekistan: 7 Canada: 6 Georgia: 6 India: 6 Nigeria: 6 Armenia: 5 Bulgaria: 5 Germany: 5 Hungary: 5 Moldova: 5 North Korea: 5 Serbia: 5 FREESTYLE (3+), 16 nations: Azerbaijan: 6 AIN (Russia): 6 United States: 6 Iran: 5 AIN (Belarus): 4 Egypt: 4 Georgia: 4 Japan: 4 Puerto Rico: 4 Albania: 3 China: 3 Cuba: 3 Kazakhstan: 3 Kyrgyzstan: 3 Mongolia: 3 Uzbekistan: 3 GRECO (3+), 16 nations: Egypt: 6 Iran: 6 Algeria: 5 Azerbaijan: 5 Cuba: 5 AIN (Russia): 5 AIN (Belarus): 4 Kazakhstan: 4 Kyrgyzstan: 4 Turkey: 4 Armenia: 3 China: 3 Japan: 3 Serbia: 3 United States: 3 Uzbekistan: 3 WOMEN (3+), 16 nations: Japan: 6 United States: 6 China: 5 India: 5 Mongolia: 5 Nigeria: 5 AIN (Russia): 5 Turkey: 5 Canada: 4 North Korea: 4 AIN (Belarus): 3 Ecuador: 3 Germany: 3 Kyrgyzstan: 3 Moldova: 3 Romania: 32 points

I really like all 6 guys' quality, for sure. We haven't had a group entering the Olympics in the last few cycles where the guy with the worst odds for medaling (Zain) probably has a 40% chance or better to get hardware. With that said, it's been a couple cycles since we've had zero gold medal favorites. Our floors are higher, but our ceilings are probably a little lower with this group. I'm guessing an objective oddsmaker would put our medal over/unders at 1 for gold and about 4.5 for medals. That would mean a gold from Lee/Dake/AB, four or five medals total, and one or two disappointed guys losing to a world-class dynamic performance at an in opportune time. As a fan, though, I definitely think 6 medals and a couple golds are possible.2 points

Each one of our guys is a medal threat. Zain was a giant against most of the guys he faced and seems to have his weight under control. Its going to take a stud to beat him, if he doesn't make the final, I wouldn't be surprized if he wrestles for a medal. He has to be among the favorites. Muza has to be the favorite, depending on his tank, the tank doesn't seem to be a prob for Zain,, Nick Lee gave the Iranian a descent match, and Zain is more solid than Nick. I also think Zain matches up well with Dudaev. Top 3. Spencer had a close match with Zhou, and after the 4, Spencer beat him up until the last exchange and he wasn't close to getting turned, then destroyed the field he spent about 10 minutes on the mat and most of that was against Zhou. I think Spencer will beat him up if they wrestle again. Spencer top 3 Dake is on a mission, I don't see him losing until possibly the final where he could face Sidakov, their first match came down to the final exchange. I expect silver or gold. Brooks top 3 in my opinion. He underhooks like Yaz and may be just as strong and has a better tank. Brooks top 3 Snyder is never out of medal contention. Top 3 Parris has proven he can hang with the best and only seems to be improving. He is 1-0 againt Zare, it was 2019, but who knows if he can hang with him now, they haven't wrestled since to my knowledge. He lost to Geno multi WC 8-6 at worlds and beat everyone else. To say he doesn't have a chance to medal is disingenuous. top 3. The opinions expressed are my own, if you don't like it I don't care.2 points

To be clear: Spencer Lee will also have to have had the best tournament of his life to win Gold. This is about medalling, not winning gold, and I think 25% is about spot on. It is convenient to forget that Spencer Lee had to come back to beat Wanhou Zou of China via 10-9 Decision. The same Zou that got destroyed by the other semi-final winner Aman of India via 10-0 Tech a few months ago at Zagrab. The same Zou that got destroyed at last years Worlds via 10-0 Tech to Arsen Hartyunyan of Armenia. Two times in the last six or so months that someone teched him without allowing him to score a point on him... yet Spencer had to come back to win 10-9. Chill out with the 'Guaranteed Gold' shit.2 points

His ill will toward Taylor and company, didn't seem very Christ-like. Him saying he 'hopes they find the way' (or whatever) isn't being said with sincerity. Just sounds like some words to cover up his true feelings.1 point

I can’t remember now…So he just got the prescription this year, correct? The same year he’s saying he “grew” and was having a tough cut to 86kg? And vyvanse can also be used to treat “binge eating disorder” and a common side effect is loss of appetite?1 point

Agree on the last point. Keep in mind at WC’s last year, Stevan Micic went on an impressive run and won gold. If Micic can do it, Spencer Lee absolutely can too.1 point

I am as big a PSU fan as there is but Brooks is so self righteous it’s nauseating. He truly thinks his religious views make him better than everyone else. We have had some fantastic guys over the last decade but some of them are just insufferable douches. Bo Nickal. Carter Starocci. Aaron Brooks. The list of insufferable douches is certainly growing.1 point

A Field Guide to Guaranteed, Certified, Definitely-Not-Antisemitic, We-Are-Hamas Global-Intifada Free-Range Encampments “I once again need to point out that the vast majority of antisemitism historically was not eliminationist, Nazi antisemitism, where the antisemites would murder you solely for your Jewish ancestry, regardless of anything else. In the USSR, you could generally get by with Jewish origins if you renounced Judaism, Zionism, etc, and took the party line. In Spain, the Inquisition only applied to Jews who practiced Judaism in secret. If you became a sincere Catholic, you were generally left alone. In other words, if you adopted the ideology the Jew-haters wanted you to adopt, they gave you a pass. In some cases, it was even an advantage, eg, the Church or State might put you in charge of persecuting other Jews. Why am I mentioning this? Because of the fools like the below who are saying that the fact that the Hamasniks on campus are ok with radical leftist individuals of Jewish descent shows that they aren't antisemitic. No, it shows that they aren't Nazis. You don't have to be a Nazi to be antisemitic. For that matter, if you are of Jewish descent and can prove that you sincerely want to join Hamas, it may very well take you. Again, they aren't Nazis, just a different variety of antisemite.” https://graboyes.substack.com/p/a-field-guide-to-guaranteed-certified1 point

Starocci is kind of a weirdo. He’s always chirping at someone. How can he fault someone for doing the same thing his coach did? Does he really expect everyone to never leave state college? Is everyone supposed to be on Carls and penn states nuts for the rest of their lives? If he’s trying to do the Conor mcgregor thing and bring his star power up then I get it I guess. Now that NIL is a thing I can see that being the case.1 point
