Yeah...I probably shouldn't have lumped you in for the whole response...my bad. I guess it is perspective as I didn't get any feeling that people were "mad" or "upset" about what was happening but rather disagreeing with what did happen and for the potential reasons why. I disagree with a lot of things but it doesn't mean those things upset me in anyway. And there was discussion about what a coach could do...probably prompted my question to vak and someone else about what a coach could do or rules they could implement...for discussion purposes is all. Anyway, you think the playing of the anthem before every sporting event is weird. Fine...it's your opinion. I don't take it as you are upset or mad. Anyway, I love the anthem as it brings me back to my younger days and it giving me the goosebumps before competing, as well as the honoring of the people who sacrificed and gave their life for us to have the freedom to be who we are as a country and to play sports. That will never be weird to me. But...it's my opinion.3 points

It's because everyone assumes Michigan for every transfer. It's almost like a running gag now. There's been rumors of Buchanan, Max Dean, Hamiti, and none of those were true. It's just Mineo making guesses then everyone just believes him. My Michigan connection told me yesterday there's no truth to the Yara stuff.3 points

As a former Penn wrestler and avid supporter of the program, I could not be happier to see Matt taking over the program. His wrestling credentials are impeccable, and I think he is going to elevate the Penn program to where all of us Quaker fans would like to see it again. He is smart, will be a great recruiter and his love for the program will translate well going forward.3 points

My biggest gripe with flo is that they have constant typos- I’ll proofread while at work for $15 an hour, if anyone at flo cares about grammar punctuation and sentence structure.2 points

Valenti in the 2006 NCAA tournament: fall,fall,7-2,7-3,3-2 against super tough 2x runner up Fleeger. 2007 NCAA tournament. 6-2,9-3,4-0,4-2,4-2 against future champ Scott. I would expect total ignorance from a Scarlet Night on anything related to Penn wrestling. I was at virtually every home match, NCAA tournament, and EIWA tournament that Matt participated in. Somehow he managed to score some points occasionally. But if he can develop national champs that win on riding time, I’ll be OK with that.2 points

I love how people think they can sit behind a computer screen and type some of the dumbest f'ing things one could possibly type and think they are smart/clever and they are just utterly moronic. His take on the military is beyond moronic though. I would love for him to ask that question to the face of my brother....2 points

I will raise you one further: Why would a MAC school look at a failing school's AHC?2 points

WKN, here's a fascinating one. UPenn's Rchard DiBatista won titles in '41 & '42 at 175. Transferred to Navy and AA'd in '01 '02 at 141. Snuck into the tournament under the alias Mark Conley. Maybe @cowcards has the back story https://nwhof.org/hall_of_fame/bio/982 points

All else equal I would agree, but people don’t seem to be too thrilled with how Wisconsin is doing currently, which is why I would think Reader might be looking for a way out, and obviously this would be a step up in title. Because of Wisconsin’s situation, I’m not sure if I’d say potentially going after an AHC of a mid-tier (at best) B10 team is considered a “champagne taste,” but no I have no idea the salary Reader makes vs what CMU is paying. Honestly I’d think Borrelli probably made a pretty good salary considering how long he was there. It’s certainly not that uncommon for AHC’s from top schools to be named HC’s at smaller ones. Adam Hall being a recent example.2 points

A lot of people are saying "keep politics out of sport" on social media, in defense of Saduleev. That is part of the problem: Saduleev was involved in using his sports achievements to promote the war. This was when politics and sport were initially mixed. Also, he is apparently a member of the Dynamo club which is allegedly heavily aligned with the FSB, SVR, some shady oligarchs, and Putin.2 points

Just chiming in to say that Coach Borrelli is one heck of a coach. There's always a couple programs that seem to have no business being discussed in the same paragraph as the PSUs, Iowas and Oklahoma States of the world, yet there they are, as they do so much with so little -- consistently taking mid-grade recruits and turning them into AAs. Little Rock is today's darling, but I'm thinking Northern Iowa under Schwab, or Edinboro under Flynn, or maybe American under Cody. Teams inexplicably in trophy contention, or at least top 10, by force of coaching. That's CMU. Yes, they've lost some of their sheen over the last few years, but how many teams have been so good for so long, while working with so little, as Borrelli's teams the past 30 years? Not many.2 points

Not at all a fan of of someone leaving the court during the anthem, but am a big fan of people exercising their constitutional rights of speech and protest peacefully. That IS support for the government entity. Our history is filled with protest against the government to improve it. We wouldn’t have become the greatest country in the world without it. And it doesn’t work if we only pick and choose the specific instances in which we are okay with someone exercising their individual rights peacefully. To be okay with this is to be okay with taking something away from someone that they earned, because you don’t like their idea. Not because they’re violent, or doing drugs, or harming children, or committing other crimes, or cheating on exams…..but because you don’t like their idea. ‘Merica!1 point

Wrong. 100%. The poor have almost zero disposable income. It's not about how much u make. It should be about how much u have left after paying your basic expenses. That's why the poor shouldn't pay ANY taxes and the rich need to start paying their fair share.1 point

Doesn't it seem odd that the more they go after Trump. the more he wins. He was briefly desperate for money and gets the biggest windfall of his life the same week. You can't make it up. Divine intervention? Perhaps. Obama and Hillary's Saul Elinsky tactics normalizing depravity. Obama's apology tour where he went to other countries and trashed the US. People want to see America Great Again. The US. Brittain and France are the most desired destinations for migrants and they are the ones under attack. Why is that? Trumps detractors are falling apart. His biggest critics are fighting for their life. Diddy, the Clintons, Alec Baldwin, All of the Hollywood pedos who are the leftist power base are being exposed. Before Trump these people were untouchable. There has been a paradigm shift. It's not a coincidence. It's spiritual.1 point
