  1. I didn't crunch the numbers on this but it seems to me that ducking accelerated once NCAAs started to seed out to all 33. I would propose we go back to seeding the top 8 since having no seeds whatsoever doesn't actually incentivize wrestling. Perhaps seeding should be based on a team's record at each weightclass rather than on an individual wrestler'S record at that weightclass. Ie, if a team ducks at 133, whatever happens at that weight (a loss, for instance) goes on the record for the weight and is taken into account for seeding purposes. I really like this idea. Call it, the peanut butter rule. Make losses (and wins) really stick.

  2. In no particular order: Matt Ramos Richie Figueroa Caleb Smith Jakob Camacho Nico Provo Michael DeAugustino Eric Barnett Brett Ungar Jore Volk Drake Ayala Pat McKee Brayden Palmer Dean Peterson Jack Maida Anthony Noto Noah Surtin Brandon Kaylor Cooper Flynn Following guys can also beat anyone: Troy Spratley Tanner Jordan Brendan McCrone Max Gallagher Colton Camacho Jett Strickenberger Stevo Poulin Spencer Moore Kysen Terukina Not a huge separation between these lists. Likely to be first round upsets abound. 125 will be among the most exciting

  4. This. Or similar the next election. This is not the direction we want our country to go in. Granted, CO is a D state and most likely would not vote for Trump in the general election, so it might be a moot point. But this is not the way we should be running elections. That is what the primaries are for, to weed out the weak and allow the top guy or gal to be the nominee of the party. Ohio Elite has it correct. None of us want to know what will happen if this CO decision stands. It will not be pretty. mspart

  6. You know what was badass? Someone was having difficulty with their stream today for Journeymen. They tagged Journeymen. Journeymen responded, fixed it, and put on a badass product. It is impossible to do that with Flo. I am an asshole about it, but many others are not. They are polite and constructive and all Spey can do is be a snarky piece of shit about it regardless of who it is.

  9. In context it sounds like a terrible law. Which can easily be misused. Which was written 150 years ago for a specific reason to achieve a certain outcome. Shouldn't this law have stricter requirements in order have less confusion when trying to interpret it?

  13. This means the people understand that the courts will abide by the law, not make up things to go with what they want to happen. They made up that Trump was part of an insurrection. There is no court case that makes that allegation. So they made up their minds on their own. That does not comport to democracy and this is a terrible precedent for judicial review. I do not want Trump to be President. But this is a railroading of a candidate that has never happened before in the history of our nation. Bad precedent to set. mspart

  14. Re read the 14th: the VP, congress etc need to be convicted but its very specific when it talks about the "President", he/she only needs to be accused, implied, speculated, etc of maybe doing some thing wrong.

  21. Rumor out of Lehigh camp is he can't hold 125 for a full year, so making it most likely he redshirts since Lehigh has Crookham and McGonagle at 133 (although McGonagle and Hines wrestling 141 tomorrow at Sheridan)

    2 points
  24. Just in case you guys are being serious: 190 lbs at 6’0” is not indicative of PED use. The average shortstop in MLB in 2023 was 6’0.5” 190.2 lbs Also, using a photo of a teenage Taylor starving himself to weigh 157 lbs is just plain foolish.

  25. I won’t pretend to know the level of training of the average LEO. Let’s get that out of the way right now. Friend of mine is a State Trooper. Been on the force for more than a decade. He gets to the range once, maybe twice a year. Last time I saw him he told me he’d put more rounds into dying deer, elk and bears along the roadside than paper targets that year. In the military, your training (in an infantry unit) is exhaustive. It identifies those ill suited and removed them. Those that can be reformed and remediated are trained up to standard. You carry a loaded weapon, all the time, at the low ready, and shoot regularly. Radio use and etiquette. You work on battle drills, movement, actions-on-contact scenarios, etc. You know who combatants are, when you must render aid. I would imagine this is very different than the average patrolman. So, is Parkland LEO prepared to enter a complex, unknown scenario? Likely not. I get any reservations he or she might have. However, you never, ever have perfect knowledge of a situation. Your job, regardless of what the courts say it is, is to save little kids from being shot to death. That said, holy shit, man. Uvalde cops? Should be fired to the last man. I don’t believe in capital punishment. But in cases of pure cowardice, by armed men, I might be fine with them bringing back the old Roman tradition of decimation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  35. how many doping tests did Lance Armstrong pass? And he was targeted. The UFC tests, but then you will see a fighter say 90% of people are on something banned. I also know a lot of kid wrestlers that were prescribed HGH and some that were prescribed testosterone to go along with it. HGH among kid wrestlers is incredibly common.

  40. Sounds like some people think PED use is incredibly rare and how someone looks or transforms is not at all indicator? What's the assumption, it's not used for sports. Or just not used by US wrestlers?

  41. Nicely done by ScarletKnight. Folks may quibble, but the illustration is so awfully hard to disagree with. This man is incredibly talented, he's a stud, and he is - without any doubt - enhanced by the use of supplements. Which supplements exactly? Don't know - don't care, other than they are the ones that obviously worked for him. Super high-level athletes do this the world over, in basically all of sports competition. Like it or not, that's where we are. And, like it or not, its where we need to be if we expect to compete for titles.

  43. my take is that the guy is a coward. but i also think it's an insane precedent to prosecute cops if someone should die on their watch. isn't that the slippery slope we'd end up with? i mean i guess i could be on board with it if they would have to prove clear excessive dereliction of duty.

  44. St. Louis Style Spare Ribs are pork, not beef (brisket is beef). What I think you mean is that STL style ribs have the skirt and rib tips cut off, where the spare ribs aren't trimmed at all. I say this all in a joking manner, so don't take it bad, but...I wouldn't take advice on TX BBQ vs. KC BBQ from someone who says there's brisket on ribs TX BBQ is good, and there are some places that are REALLY good (brisket only), but KC BBQ overall is far superior. But it's all what you like...really smoky, salt and pepper? Texas. Sweet and Spicy with just the right amount of smoke, and more flavor than salt and pepper? Kansas City.
