Simons, Uetake and Hodge would be three of the four I'd select. Personal biases aside with Simons, he continues to be one of the most overlooked wrestling greats. The fan vote really missed the boat not including him on the 75th anniversary team but included numerous two-time champs. Competing in an era before the U.S. routinely sent wrestlers to Worlds also hurt him - in 1964, he didn't lose a bout at the Olympics (2-0-2) and didn't earn a medal.3 points

My junior year of high school I had three concussions (with one of them being an extremely bad one) in a single year - after the third one, my dribbling ability in soccer considerably dropped off for about 3-6 months. It was like I lost a level of coordination for a good chunk of the year. It made a surprising impact on me physically that I never anticipated2 points

My mom was a teacher (at Neshaminy HS), and my dad sold insurance and mutual funds. They valued education over whatever passed for that in Neshaminy. I and my brothers received exactly $0 on their deaths. (wrestling: my brother was 15-0 with 14 first period pins his senior year there; he's being inducted into the GS Athletic Hall of Fame next month for his successes in wrestling, track, football, and x-country)2 points

The victim card? This should be old hat for Trump supporters, he does that in every interview. Of course he didn't answer questions or be deposed, he's being criminally investigated. Either he or his lawyer would have to have been the biggest idiots in the world to let him testify. That's why his previous bluff to testify publicly should have been called by Comer, but he's too dim to have seen the obvious bluff. And now we can let the legal system hold Hunter Biden accountable for whatever crimes he may be guilty of.2 points

Brooks biggest tests are going to be Hidlay and Ferrari. He is favored in both matches for sure but that will be his toughest competition. FWIW Rocky Elam and Stephen Buchanan fit the bill of big, lengthy, strong 197 pounders that could in theory give Brooks a tough match.. But after watching his beat down on Sloan at the all star classic I have a hard time envisioning it. There is not anyone keeping up with Starocci at 174 this year in my opinion. He made the #2 guy look like he was scared to be out there against him. It is possible someone like Gabe Arnold could emerge and push for a title chance against Starocci but getting to the championship and beating Starocci are two different challenges.2 points

I think they mean 174 is no man’s lands as in it’s a tweener weight for international. It does suck for guys like Starocci… Brooks does have a better freestyle resume, but it’s not really a fair comparison1 point

Aliens made of carbon affect the weather. A**holes. Edit - the Aliens are the A**holes. Not NHS or my colleagues (who are all also made of carbon) on this site. Edit of my edit - I was presuming Aliens was referring to ETs and not illegal aliens. Don't want to be accused of racism or xenophobia or anything my DEI department will frown upon. It is OK to dislike Aliens, right? Sigourney was pretty anti-Alien so I think I can be also without career ending repercussions.1 point

If any of the Biden LLCs were actually doing business instead of bribery would he be claiming “emoluments?”1 point

Same old same old. First claim he’s guilty, then go looking for a definition that agrees with you. Not many are falling for it anymore. Most people understand that if you elect a businessman, he has businesses, and don’t expect him to sell them off while he’s in office. I remember one of the complaints was that military travelers were staying at his place when laying over at a nearby airport. It turned out that while true, they had better accommodations and lower costs than other options. The lawfare that is constantly leveled by the Marxists against Trump is going to have a dim future.1 point

Most I know is Mitchell's dad was Keegan's coach at AWA so I'm sure they are very familiar with each other. Coach Messenbrink deserves a lot of credit for developing what is now known as "funk wrestling". One thing I love watching Mitchell do is letting opponents get in on a single leg and then working off his wizard. It's a real work of art.1 point

Apparently the previous folks running the place weren't doing so well either. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elon-musk-twitter-x-one-year-after-acquisition/ ... I get the feeling that the contract to make trophys for the NCAA is similar to a government contract where it there is no checks and balances and hammers end up costing $10K. And no one at the NCAA is smart of enough to dig into or rebid the contract so they just cut the 4th place trophy = $1M savings = everyone in Indy pats themselves on the back.1 point
-
I will make all the 4 th place trophies for 1 million dollars. That will save them 3 million . I will also put in a bid to do the other trophies. If the other 3 trophies are 12 million dollars I will do them for 4 million dollars.1 point

I won't engage in fictional scenarios of "what if"... we've got enough here & now problems to deal with. What I do know is that Trump made the right call, multiple times, on the vaccine. Trump, as President, was pro-vaccine. And I applaud him for that. (Maybe the only thing I applaud him for.)1 point
-
... then again, if you insist on being a complete turd about this. Your guy, Trump, as president put the vaccine on the fast track with Operation Warp Speed - which he created. Your guy, Trump, got the vaccine himself, and also boosters. Your guy, Trump, encouraged others to get vaccinated. Even at his rallies (sometimes with replies of boo's.) Your guy, Trump, was a vaccine guy. You try to tell us the vaccine is a liberal thing... it isn't, it wasn't, you're full of shit here. I do have to give credit to Trump - or whoever influenced him. He made the right call multiple times.1 point

Listening is good. But which is a better indicator of one’s character and values…..something they say on camera, or a lifetime of actions involving lies, deceit, and abusive activity?1 point
-
Correct, I do not think a man whose life has consistently and throughout revolved around lies, deceit, drug dealing, drug addiction, physical abuse, and psychological abuse, is worthy of a presidential debate. You do. We finally have an agreement on something. (Except I think you need to review who first identified and replied to whom in our chat, and who initiated any kind of talk about debates in our little chat. I thought I told you to review tip #2 before proceeding!!) The funny thing is; you believe that within your defending the man I described above (all facts no opinion) you’re saying something about me. Sweet dreams dum dum.1 point

Debates were an important piece when people's source of information was one TV in the house and the local newspaper on your doorstep. Today people are rarely swayed by debates because their positions and character are already well known. Or at least, discussed heavily. "well known" depends on how much of that discussion is accurate.1 point

You really are not very good at this. There are a lot of tips to be offered here, let me start with tip #1: you should just stop on this subject now. You're not doing yourself any favors. Tip#2: Stick to what I said, not what I didn't say. But for my part it is difficult to take someone serious that refuses to acknowledge that RFK Jr IS a candidate for the Democratic nomination. Here's a tip: When someone does all the paperwork necessary to become a presidential candidate, they are a legit presidential candidate. It doesn't matter if you approve or not. I never said RFK is not an official candidate who didn't turn in his paperwork. In fact my initial statement about him made zero mention of his Presidential candidate, and my points about him have had absolutely nothing to do with whether he did or did not file. You brought in bona fide candidate, and I agreed he is not a bona fide candidate, in fact even mentioning I would not be a bona fide candidate even if I declared to be. The fun part of that is, if you look up bona fide, you will see words like 'sincere', 'without intent to deceive'. Guess what words you won't find.....'official', 'paperwork', 'declared'. Now, maybe you realized that, and that's why you started twisting it in to claiming I was denying he officially had declared himself a candidate. Or-maybe you did actually look into his past, and history, and realize what a POS he is, and had to acknowledge he isnt' to be taken seriously, but are just incapable so you had to do some twisting of words. I don't know. I'm not sure what it is that goes on in that mind of yours, but it is interesting. Tip#3: Remember which side of the argument you are on when you are arguing. (we may have a whole new 'dumbest thing you have ever said here') I knew nothing about Clinton when he was running. Hick from AK is all I knew. Therefore, he was not a legitimate candidate if I go by your philosophy. Listen closely here Sparty so you can follow me: YOU ARE THE ONE SAYING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RFKjr OTHER THAN HE IS SR'S SON. I am saying I know a lot about him, and that is why I'm saying he's not to be taken seriously. (Again, I never used the word legitimate. Please review tip #2 before proceeding) And finally tip #4: Dude, lose your hard on for Biden. I'm not a fan either, but wow. It's not healthy. I would prefer Biden win the nomination. He's as weak as it gets. I think in the end he won't be the nominee. It will be like Lyndon Johnson, just not enough support. He's running on "Bidenomics" and 34% of the people polled approve of his handling of the economy. There is no there there. And no one even on the left wants Biden for a 2nd term. While yes, there has been discussion in this thread about Biden/RFK, my initial comment, which you responded to, had nothing to do with Biden vs RFK in anything. It was strictly about RFK. I made that clear again, I'm talking about RFK. Yet, you have typed the name Biden 11 times, not including 'Bidenomics', while twisting things I did not say in regard to RFK. Seriously dum dum......let it go limp. I worry about you.1 point

I'm not against debates between same party candidates, those are a little more productive. Debates between different parties are progressively getting worse and worse. Very few people are swayed by the debates and have already declared a winner before it starts.1 point

I dunno. If Biden doesn’t run for whatever reason, I’d like to see Harris debate all the other Democratic candidates rather than be told who to vote for.1 point

In my opinion, an actual "genius" has an area of focus where they are proven to be great. Then, likely because they focus so much of their energy there - they tend to lack skills in other areas, sometimes simple areas (like Einstein forgetting to put on his socks before his shoes.) The thing here is that Musk is no genius. Smart and weird, but not a genius by any stretch. Born and raised in Africa by a wealthy family, he was a spoiled rich kid. His success in the US is largely because he had a lot of money to invest in the ideas of geniuses and to hire even more geniuses. (Something Bill Gates has always said was the basis for his success since the 90's.) It is strange how the media portrays all of Musk's companies' successes as somehow being his ideas and his genius - when neither is even close to being true. Even more strange that US citizens believe it and idolize the guy from Africa who was born into money.1 point
