  3. I actually would like to see DII champions or DIII champions wrestle DI champs or AA's. I mean we will see the DI guys wrestle each other during the season, in tournaments or at the NCAA championships against each other. I may be alone in this by I think it would add a nice wrinkle.

  4. Thats exactly what 74,222,958 hard working, patriotic ,honest voters said when Joe Biden miraculously got 81,283,098 votes. They probably said a few other things also. Actually about 40 million democrat voters said the same thing knowing Joe had very a slim chance of getting 70 million ( legal ) votes. Most of Joe Bidens Campaign Staff said the same thing.

  5. Well I am glad to see Spencer back on the mat. Hopefully he continues to improve and stay healthy. Mega is always a tough customer and today was no different. Pretty decent match for both guys.

  16. The comparison between people protesting because the police kill an insane amount of people (and black people are way overrepresented in those numbers) and a mob who tried to storm the government to overturn the result of a democratic election is....INSANE lmao.

  17. The UFC's decision to stream wrestling matches, regardless of quality or quantity, is a significant step forward for the sport. This initiative exposes college wrestling to a new audience already captivated by combat sports. The UFC's approach of turning dual meets into events is also commendable, as the varied settings add an extra layer of excitement and attraction to college wrestling. Additionally, the inclusion of less discussed teams in these dual meets provides them with valuable exposure, which bodes well for the future growth of Division I wrestling.

  18. Where does he say "some"? Because then you're just adding your own context. Unless the "some" you're referring to is where he said "Western Jews" and I guess there we're saying he didn't mean all the Jews in the world, just all the Jews the westernized world, which....cool? And that's if we (generously) completely divorce it from the context of replying to a post about Hitler.

  23. Great analysis. How do are feeling about Zane's chances against Spencer next April? The gas tank strategy rings familiar. I didn't see Spencer compete today, so I can't tell if he needs to work on his conditioning or if he's still a little banged up (is that what #1 is referring to?). OTOH, Spencer has looked pretty jacked on social media lately (ADS too) so I like the potential of bigger stronger freestyle Lee. Similarly, people were saying Nolf looked out of shape today but he did just fine and I'm sure we'll see a far more improved version of what we saw today when trials rolls around.

  25. After Spencer Lee beat the child, he seemed like a world beater. But then the Iowa phenom had to face a veteran part-timer and got a little red-faced in the second. He won a one-takedown match. Final score was 7-4 as a last-second Megaludis challenge was lost. I think the scouting report is: 1. Shoot the angles. Make him keep turning on his knee. 2. Finish quick (and preferably around) Lee or hold on for a stalemate. 3. Have him try to push your grounded weight out of bounds. Lilledahl did this pretty well. 4. Get to the second period. Mega did this very well. I think it was 2-0 Spencer at the break. 5. If he takes you down, fall with your arms and legs spread-eagled (Lightening Luke gave up the trapped-arm guts). 6. Make him work for his gut or lace. Tire him out. 7. He's got chubby ankles. Grab em. 8. Time his clubs as he's off balance. Spencer puts a lot of force into them, and that will naturally affect his balance. Now, I hope to hear from the board experts about their "Spencer Lee Scouting Report."

  31. Finals are up next after the speeches, I think. Oh — regarding Mega — he is an incredible role model. Amazing that he has a career and he is staying in such good wrestling shape. That said, I am assuming he really does work a full time job (I’ll say 30+ hours a week).

  37. The UFC College Wrestling Productions have been outstanding. The Battle of Fort Liberty and the Battle at the Barn are unique outside the box ideas to promote the sport and grow wrestling. Getting other combat sports to watch and enjoy collegiate wrestling can pay dividends. Some of the best MMA fighters are wrestlers.

  40. Almost too many to keep track of now. Wrestlestat compiles an ongoing list: https://www.wrestlestat.com/d1/recentupsets Tuesday mornings in the beginning of the season are exciting for me, because I am curious to see WrestleStat's updated rankings after accounting for a weekend of activity. By the end of the season it always seems fairly accurate, but a good amount of movement in early weeks.
