Yea, I was there for that dual when ISU opted to keep most of their starters home for the “Dresser Open”. Heading to the Dual now and really hoping all these matches happen. A big ask I know.4 points
-
No. As a matter of fact, Kevin Dresser and his team will take on all comers. It doesn't matter if they are 4th string teammates because the Cyclones never back down! They will keep fighting down to The Last Chance!4 points

seriously... it never even crossed my mind... i was truly horrified after realizing what you must have thought and can see how it could be taken the wrong way... even the possibility makes me feel awful... Thank you for allowing me to clear that up.3 points

165 I didn't catch either guys name. Not sure who is wrestling. Some guy named Carr against another guy named O'Toole apparently. Carr dances, O'Toole stalks. Nothing yet. O'Toole sweep single attempt, Carr double attempt neither connect. Carr in deep on the left leg, working around and hooks the ankle. O'Toole splits the right leg back, but Carr keeps working for the TD. 2-0. end of 1. Carr quick escape 3-0. O'Toole gets the TD but Carr out immediately. 4-2. Refs want to take a look. Call stands. 1:31 left. Carr stuffs O'Toole's shot. O'Toole gets the ankle, but Carr gets out and turns on O'Toole and gets the TD with 4 secs to go. 6-2 Carr after 2. O'Toole up to his feet but back down quickly. Carr over a minute of RT. Resetting. O'Toole very active on bottom. Carr hanging on to leg, gets the stall, and they reset. Carr finishes on top. 7-2. Very impressive.2 points

Carr is 84-2 for his career and O'Toole is 56-1, combined 140-3 (0.979) with one title a piece. Dake and Taylor: Taylor was 70-1 with one title and Dake 100-4 with three titles at their first meeting (All Star). Combined 170-5 (.971).2 points

dude did not want to talk anything about how datunasvili baited him on his left... pushing bisultanov's left shoulder down to get him to open up 2 millimeters on the right for the arm throw... it was just pushing... duh... he "knows" greco... i tried... i really did... it was like picking on a cripple and i do not necessarily feel good about it, but, he had an opportunity here... no third chances...2 points

What do people think about this? I feel like this is recency bias. This match was great but gotta think Gomez 9-2 (or close) over Yianni was more impressive?1 point

Facundo kept it closer with Carr (4-2 loss) than KOT. Surprising. Carr vs. KOT again at Big 12s unless one of them ducks in the final. And then perhaps again at NCAAs.1 point

I’m very surprised it was that low. Also, Askren mentioned that Keegan might go up to 174 next year. Great idea if he wants to finish 3rd, I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Took me a second to figure out where this board moved to (been busy with new baby and life), but just wanted to say WOW about Carr. That’s an absolute master class in neutralizing O’Toole’s elite scrambling. He stuck O’Toole’s hips to the mat and never gave him much of a chance to get funky. Using that leg for constant leverage was great stuff. Kudos to Dresser for getting him coached up and kudos to Carr for executing the gameplan to perfection. I need to see this one again in March.1 point

Wow, so much for the crowd vote for KOT, who didn't have much for Carr tonight. Surprised me that he couldn't escape1 point

Hopefully he's back on track. He's a guy who should be in the podium this year. Agreed. He's a kid I've always pulled for.1 point

141 Swiderski ISU Hart Mizz Hart looking like he is borrowing Bo Nickal's noodle arms. And he uses them like Nickal to get a leg elevated and finishes for 2. Tring for back points but only two swipes. Has Swiderski stretched out and flat. Swiderski not doing a thing on bottom. Stalemate called as Hart reaches for the bow and arrow. Come on. I want that b&a. Stall on Swiderski. Hart gets a loose cradle and can't hold it. Ends 2-0 with 2:34 of RT. Start neutral in second. Swiderski pressuring gets an ankle pick but can't finish and they scramble. Stopped for blood. Both guys looking to wrestle from distance. Swiderski on the ankle leg elevated, can't get around behind, and period ends. 2-0. Swiderski lets Hart up 3-0 to start third. Hart in deep on a single elevates, Swiderski hopping, and Hart with the TD. 5-0. Rides out the third, gets a stall 7-0. Cuts him too late to get the major. 7-1 final.1 point

Big Elam is a round of 12 guy at best. Just hasn't been able to improve much from year to year.1 point

Elam with the take down late in the first and the ride out to lead 2-0 with 53 secs of RT Elam rides hard in the second and gets a cradle but can't hold on to it. Settles for the ride out 2:53 RT. Elam quick escape to start third. Bastida pressing the pace, but nothing. Elam gets a stall warning with about 25 secs to go. And it ends 4-0 Elam.1 point

If you like that one, you'll love this one. -Most of the major ills of the world have been caused by well-meaning people who ignored the principle of individual freedom, except as applied to themselves, and who were obsessed with fanatical zeal to improve the lot of mankind-in-the-mass through some pet formula of their own. The harm done by ordinary criminals, murderers, gangsters, and thieves is negligible in comparison with the agony inflicted upon human beings by the professional do-gooders, who attempt to set themselves up as gods on earth and who would ruthlessly force their views on all others with the abiding assurance that the end justifies the means. so... that is it? that is your angle? all your big boy talk and posturing and that is what you got? you do not want to talk about what is actually going on in the match? all you see is pushing? i thought you claimed to know greco? you don't want to talk about the scrambling of datunasvili? the crazy par terre? none of that? you just want to spout the same ignorant pushing stuff? gotcha, sparky... i suppose you can run along now...1 point

Getting rid of SSI doesn't have to mean doing nothing, the same 15% can be invested without the government having control over it but still requiring it be set aside. The worker doesn't get it and neither does the government. It would be put into safe, insured investments, or private insurance.1 point

I'm generally against a sporting ban but If you are gonna ban Russia you sure as hell should be banning some other countries like China.1 point

After Sochi, see also the movie Icarus, I'm fine with them being banned for a couple of quads.1 point

A lot of banter back and forth on this subject. For several years. I think the kids that want to do well will continue no matter if one or more classes. And the emphasis now is more towards how he kids do in the big national tournaments around the country for the coaches to evaluate, and not so much state run tournaments. But yes ,kids slip thru the cracks in any scenario of classes. If you Surveyed the wrestlers I’m guessing they prefer as is , stay one class. It really is a sight to see if you’ve never been to the Indiana state finals.1 point
