  1. We all have @flyingcementas a tag team partner for these situations. Just tag him in to the ring

  2. I know Pennsylvania and Iowa like to debate which state is the Mecca of wrestling. Well, @flyingcement and I are here to tell you that they are a pair of pretenders. If you want to score points we have some time tested advice for you. Go West, young man, Go West. Get ye to the north of the Dakotas. Combining flyingcement's geographic data (I cannot imagine how much work that was) with Intermat's latest rankings and my expected points per seed tells us how many points per million residents each state is expected to contribute to their team's totals. So, @VakAttack if you really want to put an end to Penn State's despotic rule you need to get the Brands brothers (Brands of Brothers?) to recruit a ND wrestler at every weight.

  3. Nice job the true freshman . Gave the soon to be 3 time NCAA champion a good match. I believe RBY is a 6th year senior. I think he will learn from this match and improve . He might get wrestle him 2 more times. We will see.

  4. And people are right! So many of their top wrestlers, unlike in years past, are wrestling close matches constantly, and yet they (almost) always win them, and none of their top guys ever seem to lose. Very frustrating as a fan of an opposing team, but impressive nonetheless. We've all seen their stats in the NCAA semis and such. I'm not even sure what the point of this thread is, I was just watching some videos during my lunch break and thinking about how, normally, if guy's wrestle always close matches, we think of it as living dangerously, especially at the NCAA tournament, but none of us think that about the Penn State guys in that way BECAUSE THEY NEVER LOSE THOSE MATCHES. Even when they do lose a close match, like Brooks last year to Amine or this year to Coleman, we always expect them to win the next time they meet, and will always win at NCAAs. Sigh.

  11. What in the world are you talking about? tOSU wrestled their butts off in that 2018 dual. It just so happened that Kollin Moore ran into Anthony Cassar who was flying under the radar at the time. The same guy who is the only wrestler to hand Gable Steveson his only two losses in college

  12. one pt takedown at the time might explain why the US actually felt it necessary to work on the position... now we have athletes starting clubs and telling their kids to just folk wrestle overseas...

  19. You yourself have never wrestled correct? Just your sons? You should stop running your mouth about what's real wrestling. Or at least be respectful considering your sport is an after thought, the least watched of any of the 3 styles and without the other two it would die in America. So just maybe... be grateful the better styles are here and stop trying so hard to prove Greco-Roman is the best. It's not. Folkstyle Sumo Greco-Roman Freestyle

  20. Sarcasm. Good way for you to vent, but not useful for anybody else in the conversation. The federal government has been inefficient for many decades. Through both blue and red administrations. The NEXT question is - except for whining, what are we going to do about it? More promises that aren't kept by more BS politicians? That is exactly what Bernie is trying to address. He's different than the others because he's all about significant change and making it happen NOW. If you don't agree with Bernie's policies - that's just fine. I understand that. I didn't vote for him either. But I like him. He's honest and no BS. Nobody else is. We can keep bitchin' around in circles and get nowhere, or we can try to find somebody who fits the bill and puts helping the country above helping themselves (and those that financed their campaigns.) I don't think Bernie is the guy... but I think Bernie is the guy to listen to, because he's got the right idea - and the right guy may be in the next generation of candidates. Lord, I hope so. We really need a leader who is about leading instead of being about himself.

  21. PA's transfer rules are absurdly draconian. We don't penalize parents for moving to another school because it has a better science curriculum, or fewer students, or cuter girls, or more (or less) diversity, or better teachers, or a nicer building, but the hammer comes down if they go for athletics? It makes no sense. We should be encouraging schools to do thinks well, academically and athletically, so they attract other students. Instead we are catering to the lowest common denominator: schools whose programs are so bad that parents want to leave. And they have no incentive to improve, since the PIAA makes them stay. But even if you're inclined to agree with the PIAA rules, what is indefensible is that PA lets parochial schools compete in PIAA (e.g. Bethlehem Catholic) but doesn't require they comply with the same rules as a condition of entry. So if you move to Bethlehem to go wrestle for Nazareth, you're out, but if you're moving there to wrestle for BeCa, no problem, carry on. How is that fair?

  24. After further review, I've got to agree with LJB here. ND is the west edge of the 'midwest', but not quite proper 'west.' Also, a point worth mentioning, NDSU is basically on the ND/MN border - more east by the length of ND. In any case, good stuff on this thread.

  29. I learned so many things from watching the Stooges. Center of Gravity, Inertia/Momentum, Action/Reaction, Circuit Analysis, Conservation of Energy, Thermodynamics/Heat Flow, Fluid Dynamics All from falling off ladders, hitting each other with a maul, getting zapped by electrical outlets, encounters with steam irons and fire hoses. Those guys were geniuses.

  43. Some big wins by DeSanto and Lugo. After the HWC being dormant for so long, its good to see them start to get back into the swing of things. DeSanto taking out Nashon, and Lugo over Henderson, suggests they'll be in the hunt for a Final X spot.
