I just hope that everyone who should wrestle does wrestle. It is what is good for wrestling. I really want to see SVN v Murin and Facundo v Kennedy. While they won't likely be high scoring I think they will be tough matches.5 points

With the predictions slowing down on all four boards (Intermat, HR, and the two split PSU boards) I thought it would be a good time to post of review of what we have so far. And to give you time to check for errors in my data. The wisdom of the Intermat crowd says the final score will be....Iowa 15 - PSU 20. (HR sees it 16-19, sigh, defeatist, and BWI/On3 has it 13-23). The 23 Seers saw it this way. For those of you who submitted a pre-season prediction I have included both that prediction and your current prediction. Based on current predictions only (18 total) the average final score prediction would be unchanged. Most in the Bag for PSU Shockingly, it turns out @nhs67 is a bigger PSU fan than the self-proclaimed PSU fan @Jimmy Cinnabon (or is it @JimmyCinnabon?), as NHS edges your author out for the prize. Is This Heaven?...It's Iowa @Gus stands alone. Only he has the foresight to predict a 6 point Iowa win. I think we may have smoked out Tom Brands' burner account on Intermat. Favorite Favorite I am Become Death Destroyer of Worlds, Spencer Lee takes it in a cakewalk. Only the sweetly naïve @nhs67, @Le duke, and @VakAttack of an earlier, more innocent time thought Lee would not pin his opponent. All current projections have Lee pinning Steen, because of course. (though, as I mentioned earlier there is stunningly one guy on HR calling for a TF, WTH). 70% of you have Brooks with the major and 60% have RBY with the major, but 100% of you have take them. Jump Ball The two that have all of the current prognosticators tied in knots are Murin v Van Ness and Cassioppi v Kerkvliet. Murin v Van Ness is 9/9 and Cassioppi v Kerkvliet is 10/8 to Iowa. Haines was picked by 11, but 4 of them specified they would flip to Siebrecht if Barraclough wrestles. Rodney Dangerfield Take a look at Woods v Bartlett. Intermat has this as a #2 v #4 matchup. Flo puts it at #2 v #3, and Wrestlestat has Bartlett winning 5-4 (even though they have Bartlett down at #6), but you nattering nabobs of negativism lean heavily toward Woods... on the road no less. Put some respect on that name (oops, I picked Woods too). The Prognosticator of All Prognosticators Finally, Wrestlestat scores it Iowa 9 - PSU 27. Hmmm, that sounds familiar.4 points

I've been slowly putting together a list which contains the high school, hometown, and home-state of every Division 1 wrestler. Been going by conference and have half of EIWA, SOCON and MAC still left to go... been many hours of data gathering. Need to make this more efficient4 points

There are FCC regulations on TV and radio stations. I don't recall any that pertain to college wrestling rankings though. I know there used to be government regulations on newspapers. I would assume there are also government regulations of some sort on internet media. I kind of doubt any of those involve college wrestling rankings either.2 points

I need an Iowa v PSU pick out of you. And no, you cannot pick any Nebraska wrestlers.2 points

Ladies and gentlemen, 11 minutes with the great Spencer Lee. This goes about the length of half a dozen of his matches. Some thoughtful stuff in here. Most interesting revelation -- he is extremely engaged with other Iowa sports, roots for and talks to athletes in other sports to pick their brains and says he's attended events for every Iowa varsity team except rowing, "just because I don't really know how to go to a rowing event because I don't think we've have a river we go to, I've certainly watched them compete but I've never been to one.".1 point

This is great. At the 10:05 mark, Brands says that the Big Ten Network has taken to calling Iowa before matches to ask if Spencer is going to wrestle, promising confidentiality on the answer, so that if so, they would want to delay the start of the dual so when the preceding basketball or whatever game goes over, the wrestling broadcast doesn't miss the 125 match.1 point

My main takaway is Lee is still salty about getting booed at PIAAs when he took late-match injury time during his eventual loss to DeSanto.1 point

Here’s the problem: In order for him to declassify a document, he has to give the order to the DOD (or other original classification authority) which requires them to log that order and begin the process. It is not, in fact, instantaneous. If those orders happened, there appears to be no such record of these orders. It seems unlikely that hundreds of documents were ordered declassified, across four years, and none of them were logged. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

We’re really all different posters - just using old “the mat” usernames to throw people off. Good to see it’s working!1 point

I watched it live. Nashon did gas, but DeSanto seemed to downshift midway through the match and find a better gear for him. Reminds me a lot of Aaron Pico vs Jayson Ness at Olympic Trials.1 point

Regardless of the R/D divide, every case this guy worked on for the last 20 years needs to be looked at. The people he assigned need to be looked at. A bunch of investigations will likely need to be revisited.1 point

https://www.youtube.com/live/1lXhHMXT03I?feature=share Yeah, he gassed. Pretty non-stop action the whole match, and Desanto is relentless. Pretty good sportsmanship, too, at the end. Of course, Desanto won so... 5:44:031 point

Surprised that the FBI has corruption in its ranks? They say not so. In fact, Merrick Garland just told us all that there is no difference in justice for Ds or Rs, rich or poor. They do the same thing to whoever. mspart1 point

The guy in NM should be behind bars if he did the shooting. But can anyone honestly say this is typical of Rs or Ds response to losing elections? He is an outlier and let him lie out there in a cold dark cell. mspart1 point
