They said it was Carr, he looked & wrestled like Carr, but Carr is not on the roster and I thought Carr was hanging out in the old folks home with @BobDole.4 points

Now we are getting into the meat of it. Hopefully the load management / resting / nicked up / seed protection portion of the season is over and we get to see all of these match ups. D'Emilio v C Rooks, Smith v Washington, Van Ness v Gomez, Facundo v Hamiti (though WS doesn't agree), Kerkvliet v Hilger should all be juicy. 7 p.m. Eastern Ohio State v Indiana - Wrestlestat has it 31-3 anOSU Heinselman 9 - 4 Moran 3-0 Mendez 11 - 3 Porter 7-0 D'Emilio 8-5 C Rooks 10-0 Sasso 13 - 4 G Rooks 14-0 Gallagher 6 - 7 Gilcher 14-3 Kharchla 12 - 3 Major 18-3 Smith 10 - 5 Washington 21-3 Romero 14 - 2 Harris 25-3 Hoffman 7 - 4 Willham 28-3 Orndorff 7 - 4 Bullock 31-3 https://www.wrestlestat.com/compare/dual/55/ohio-state/33/indiana 9 p.m. Eastern Penn State v Wisconsin - Wrestlestat has it 25-12 PSU Steen 2 - 10 Barnett 0-4 Bravo-Young 12 - 4 LaMont 4-4 Bartlett 10 - 3 Zargo 7-4 Van Ness 7 - 8 Gomez 7-7 Barraclough 8 - 6 Model 10-7 Facundo 1 - 17 Hamiti 10-12 Starocci 17 - 3 Otto 14-12 Brooks 19 - 3 Dow 19-12 Dean 9 - 3 Amos 22-12 Kerkvliet 9 - 2 Hilger 25-12 https://www.wrestlestat.com/compare/dual/60/penn-state/77/wisconsin3 points

People like to sak me who my team is, well its cornell and tech. 125: CU by dec (3-0) 133: CU by dec (6-0) 141: Tech dec (6-3)toss up 149: CU by dec (9-3) 157: Tech by Maj (9-7) 165: CU by dec (12-7) 174: Tech by dec (12-10) 184: Tech by maj (12-14) 197: CU by dec (15-14) 285: CU by dec (18-14) Tech doesn't match up great even though I feel like they are wrestling better, assuming no loew and that Andonian is back, 125 and 141 are huge, maybe HWY, tech can win 197 so if you were doing an upset special thing thats it.2 points

I'm watching but I have a split screen with all these duals going on so thanks for the play by plays @D3 for LU Foca has been on a tear this season. Would have been fun to see him against Mekhi here.2 points

Wrestlestat predicts this as a 18-13 Cornell victory. Possible marquee matchups at 141 (Yianni vs Henson) 174 (Foca vs. Lewis) and 184 (Loew vs Bolen) assuming the starters all go. (?) 125 (Ungar vs. Ventresca) and 141 (Cornella vs. Crook) also look like toss-ups. Thoughts?2 points

I'm gonna guess she wouldn't be teaching at trump University. However, trump will be teaching Nepotism 6501, and Arrears and Bankruptcy 7655. He can both teach and do. What a guy...2 points

2015 - Trump paid $735,172 in taxes. 2016 - Trump paid $614,299 in taxes. 2017 - Trump paid $284,718 2018 - Trump paid $2,068,822 2019 - Trump paid $460,977 2020 - Trump paid $271,973 These tax returns I have posted are from https://apnews.com/article/trump-tax-returns-documents-index-978260721336 I don't see where he paid $750 in taxes from 2015-2020 which has been all the rage. You folks who are concerned about this, or are spreading this, need to look now at your sources and ask yourself what they were telling you. The IRS 1040 forms do not lie. mspart2 points

According to Coach Ayres, Patrick will have a 'modified weigh-in schedule' for the rest of the season. A while back, Mr. Glory spoke of the 'challenges' of making 125. Gents: This is why we have certification and weigh-in rules. This is exactly what is not supposed to be happening, nor even be able to happen, period. The only way this can happen is purposeful manipulation of the rules, and the body composition/hydration testing system. I've been down this path, as an athlete and coach. It is NOT good for the sport; a sport we were in danger of losing 25 years ago.2 points

Please use those 1040 returns and show me how, as Forbes says, he paid no taxes in 2020. You won't find the answer in the Forbes article. In fact in the first paragragh, a link to the HOuse ways and means committee does not work. This is found in the first of the KEY FACTS. It's not a fact if it can't be seen. There are no facts or data in the Forbes article. Only proclamations. I've seen the 1040 forms, as you have now. I trust the forms signed under penalty of prosecution rather than soft blather. mspart1 point

I brought the screenshots to you and your first reaction was - look how much his refunds were. Now you are still arguing the point, but not answering why you still believe people that tell you he paid $750 when it is demonstrable that is not what he paid. You have been lied to and duped. I'm sorry but I'm looking at the facts and data, that's all. It shows he paid hundreds of thousands in taxes each of those years. mspart1 point

Did you look at the forms? I don't care what some wiki says, I care what the forms say. The first two pages of 1040 form have all the final numbers for you, me, and Trump, and everyone else. It gives total tax owed, total taxes paid, and any refund or additional tax payment needed. It is not voodoo. It is quite clear and I don't understand why you are trying to see something that is not there. If your last statement is true, then that would all be on the first two pages of the tax return. What I stated is the tax he paid those years. The IRS received those monies. Each of those years he overpaid so got a refund, but that is the final statement. It is a lie that he paid only $750 as shown by these forms. It is incredible that you still want to believe that lie after seeing the 1040 forms that constitute final status. mspart1 point

I wanna hear what concessions he made to get those votes flipped. Can we get these in writing?1 point

I think if VT can win the swing matches at 125 and 141 it's a 5-5 split; with some bonus points at 157 or 184 (especially if Loew is out) that could do it for them.1 point
-
Where do you see $750 paid as tax for any year? Come on. mspart1 point
-
Did you not see what his tax was? Who cares what the refund is? I could owe $10 in taxes but pay 1000000000 in estimated tax to cover my bases. I should get a substantial refund. You would argue the same with your taxes. You don't pay more than you owe. If you did, you get a refund. Are you saying you want Trump to play by different rules than you play to? He uses the same tax code you do and paid taxes in the hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. The Lying Left has stated he paid only 750 dollars in tax and no tax in these years. That is a flat out lie as the returns show. That is why I included screenshots of the tax returns so there would be no argument. Maybe he didn't owe as much tax as you or others think, but he paid more than $750. Again, your sources are suspect in their partisanship. They are willing to nakedly lie to us to get us all inflamed, hoping we don't look into it. I did that for you and showed their lies. He paid substantially more than $750 in each of the years 2015-2020. Way more. There is no truth to the $750 lie whatsoever and the included screenshots show that to be true. mspart1 point

Are you not looking a few lines below to the lines labeled "Refund" ? In 2020 alone, he got a ~$5.5M refund. You get any better at this and Askren's gonna have you on his show hawking bitcoin.1 point

People are forgetting how close we were to losing the sport, and the adults (who should be smarter) seem to be blinded by their own ambition.1 point

The real problem is that, a significant chunk of the community does really seem to understand that Wrestling could compete with bigger sports eventually.. but the year round club wrestling approach. Which only focuses on a couple tournaments and what’s only convenient for the athlete has taken over. They insist it’s just a “niche” sport run in “niche” ways “so why even bother” doing things to make it more appealing or more professional a product. Im at the point where it is what it is. I just want people to start being more honest and transparent about what’s going on. It’s hard for me to get in an uproar about it when many of the people complaining the most(not saying you, but other people) are directly involved in creating the culture to make this stuff happen1 point

Much like the way the Yankees are pretty much crowned WS champs every year before the season starts, yet come October they never fail to underachieve even if they at least make the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Phillies, Cubs, Natinals (remember the shirts!), or some other team overachieves. It's only logical (to BP anyway) if a lot is expected of you, it's much easier to disappoint than to exceed expectations. And vice versa. @Wrestleknownothing always does a great job of showing us, mathematically, what we think intuitively ought to be the case. That's extra cool. He can even show us when our intuition can deceive us, and how. He's a handy feller to have around, that's for sure.1 point

The even sadder thing is that this works very well for them and makes them rich powerful men and women.1 point

So sad. None of these people are rookies and they aren't even championing an alternative. This is a direct consequence of electing idiots. They are incapable of offering anything meaningful, so they make a spectacle to appear useful.1 point

I remember a few years back where Headshuck, I think, pointed out the statistical difference between a team with 10 qualifiers vs one with 5, even if those five were all highly seeded. 10 possible scorers made it less likely they would score less than projected points, due to unseeded guys scoring more than expected, while highly seeded guys have way more room to underscore rather than over score their projections. Something like that anyway. Wkn’s method seems to codify that principle very well. Mizzou this year is a great example, with 4 guys ranked between 9-11. Much more likely that they push 1 or 2 of those guys into AA scoring position even though traditional projections would almost completely discount them.1 point

Breaking News: Illinois (and also Penn State) will need to cross the dreaded River of Melted Butter to take on Wisconsin this weekend. Both teams are currently consulting Willy Wonka for navigation advice since the viscosity of his River of Chocolate is apparently similar. Carl Sanderson was also speaking with Christian Pyles, who reportedly now "has a plan" for the team to fjord the river. Imagine how quickly the Brands bros would be on the mat when RBY has Lee's face in the mat and starts grabbing at a foot, looking for a cradle or a go behind.1 point
-
Nope. Unlike previous years, dominating wrestling isn't a guarantee for Lee this year. He's obviously gimpy. He's got to wrestle a quality schedule, and show he's a dominant wrestler, while going undefeated. Won't be easy at all. In other words, it's not Spencer's to lose - he's going to have to earn it. It'll be an uphill battle.1 point

The rules for qualification are independent of those for certification, so I don't understand your point. I see other posts after yours making suggestions to connect them some, which is fine but you're implying a breaking of rules here. It sounds like Princeton is doing that to protect his safety not endanger it.1 point

I agree with you and I'm sure my idea has other flaws, but that is why I said X number of weigh-ins instead of X number of matches. This enables even injured guys to comply without risk.1 point

IRS has nothing to do with it. It is Congress that has everything to do with this. Change the tax code. The problem is both Rs and Ds have rich benefactors that would be screwed by this. Ever wonder why the tax code is so incomprehensible? Because of this. A flat tax with some amount of exemption would actually be more fair. What good is a graduated tax if this happens. Essentially, Trump made diddly squat to be paying $750 in taxes. But is that $750 he owed over what had already been paid, or was that a total amount paid to the IRS? mspart1 point
