Let's react fully now 57kg Really lopsided bracket here with multiple medal threats being on Spencer's side. Harutyunyan right away and then a potential Cruz, Han, or RBY match in semis. Maybe Rin, Aman or the Russian to come out the other side. Still expecting a gold for USA, but our biggest rivals in the team race benefit in the way this was drawn. Lee for gold 61kg Yikes. Suda right away essentially, no disrespect South Korea. This might be match of the tournament. If he gets through Suda he has Udit and likely Uguev in the semis to face who in the finals? The other half looks like a desert. Jax's route to a medal is insanely tough. Idk how good Iran's rep is here but if he walks through the bracket and makes the finals vs Uguev and Jax loses to Suda we lose major points. Again we are getting hosed in multiple fashions but the kid is serious, who's with me let's get delusional. Jax for bronze 65kg I mean it can't get much worse with the draw. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibilities that Real beats Amouzad but probably not. So he will likely be pulled into repechage and I think he can medal. All the other hitters are on the other side, like no joke. I have no idea who comes out the other side to face the Iranian. I'll take Seabass. Deep weight and crazy enough I like Real's chances to medal. Real for bronze 70kg I love this for PJ can't lie. He gets a match, no disrespect China, to warm-up then hits the reigning world champ at the weight. I think he will be poised and ready to go. That being said I don't think he gets his hand raised there and then I feel as if Gomez is on a different level and I feel he gets an upset against him in the very next match. There's a path for PJ to medal, heck even win the damn thing, but his side of the bracket is super tough. Look for the semifinal top side with Japan vs Iran likely. One of the deepest weights in the world this year. PJ to DNP 74kg Wow wow wow. Iran and Japan on the other side of Valiev, Sidakov, and Carr. Crazy. Anyways, Carr will have Valiev in the quarters. I don't favor him here as Valiev is reigning world champ and looks to be one of the best p4p in the world imo. Say he slays that beast, he will likely have Sidakov. JB has been training Carr up something fierce, does David have it in him to get through this gauntlet his first run at it? I think no. He probably loses to Valiev and then his shot at a medal will come down to, what would be, the best match at the tournament potentially. Unfortunate for Carr and unfortunate for the team race as one of the two, Japan or Iran, will come out the other side to take silver. Carr to bronze 79kg We are opposite Nokhodi and the Greek that just beat him but hit Usmanov, former world champ, in quarters. Honestly this is the weakest looking weight here and I feel as if that PSU room will have Levi sharp for this run at worlds. I like his chances at a medal here. Go Mikey Labs. Levi for bronze 86kg What a draw this one is. All gold level threats on the same side and finally we get a bone tossed our way, we just face the winner of the other two. Kadiev (RUS) vs Ghasempour (IRI) could be, I know you know it by now, the best match of the tournament. I expect that to be a slug fest. The path to gold is through the top side for sure. Kadzi and Ishiguro on the other side to contend for the finals spot. Even is Zahid loses in the semis, he will medal. Super fun and loaded weight. But for my money, I like Zahid's medal to be gold. Zahid for gold 92kg Trent will walk to the quarters where he will meet the #1 seed from Georgia, a guy he has beaten before. If he makes it through him, which I expect, he will face Kurugliev, Greek transplant from Russia, or Nurmagomedov. Both would give him a tough match but I like his odds to come out the top side. We luckily avoided both Russia's and Iran's rep as they are bottom side but we expect Firouzpour to make it to the final with us. Say it with me, could be match of the tournament. I've been saying it for months, I love Trent's chances and I think he gets it done. Shout out Ben Honis. Trent for gold 97kg Easily the best draw we have all tournament. For the guy that needed a good draw the least. Oof. Kyle's first test will be in the semis vs Yoshida, who beat him in a massive upset earlier, or Matcharashvili. He matches up better against the guy who beat him imo as I think he reverses that result if it were to happen again. The Georgian wrestles him tough, for the team race we want Yoshida to lose but the match vs Matcharashvili worries me. Either way bottom side wrestler is going for silver as Tazhudinov is the #1 seed and the best p4p wrestler in the world right now. Even with Sadulaev in the bracket, Taz wins gold and Kyle medals. Without Sadulaev, give me the same result, Taz wins gold and Kyle's medal will be a silver. I think no matter what he medals. Kyle for Silver 125kg Wyatt will be tested every match we wrestles until he reaches Zare in the semis. We can take out Russia's rep right away. His toughest before Zare is his match in the quarters vs Sharipov. I think he just has too much to not get by those guys, will come down to his inexperience and if he let's that be a factor. I think Zare is p4p one of the best in the world and unfortunately I think the gravy train ends there. Munkhtur is on the other side so his medal chances are skyhigh. I don't think this is his year to get it done. Top half is super boring. Zare will take it all. Wyatt for bronze Team Race We got f***ed guys. With that being said I have us medaling 9 guys lol. I think the guys who were least likely to medal (Levi and Real) got some nice draws to help them. Of course they need to win in order to achieve the medals but they're odds are up. The guys who were on the fence to medal (Jax, PJ, and Carr) got screwed by their draws. I don't know sh*t about sh*t so we will see. USA to finish runner-ups4 points

You might need a little more data before you can blame his upbringing for his behavior. He was a grown man. 22 years old. He had to make a lot of very poor decisions over time to end up where he ended up. His parents surely didn't make those decisions. It's called personal accountability. At 22 you and you alone are accountable for your behavior.2 points

Philosophically what would be more likely to influence someone to commit this act? A family background rooted in faith (in anything), community and service, lawfulness, and achievement. Or A group who burns buildings, creates no law zones, incites violence and riots weekly, lives online in a bubble of demonization and violent rhetoric and labels anyone with a different opinion as evil?2 points

Turned into a monster by reddit & other leftist antifa online worlds. The bullets were references to songs popular with antifa groups. This is what happens when the left builds disillusionment in young people VS building structure, belief in community, and working hard to achieve realistic goals. Telling people feelings are more important than the truth, you are owed succes, failure is everyone else's fault, and an evil cabal is holding you down is what causes radicalism (be it in 1930s Europe, the middle east, or in some circles here today).2 points

I post quite a bit on other forums and am fairly well-known. Haven't posted on this one in a long time. I don't usually look at wrestling forums on here tbh. This is kind of sequestered as my politics outlet - which is good because I don't drain my energy over this stuff in my actual life.2 points

I'm curious. Are you interested in wrestling at all, or are you just here to get in arguments and pretend to be morally superior?2 points

I don't have any knowledge off the top of my head, but I would almost have to think that Blair had some teams in the early 2000s. Were Esposito, Perry, and Mocco at Blair at the same time? Edit: Logan Stieber, Hunter Stieber, Jamie Clark, Collin Palmer and Cam Tessari were all at St. Eds together as well.. right? SPG also had Bo and Micah, and a handful of other future AAs on the same high school roster IIRC.2 points

Ben Darmstadt. 18 pins in his first full season at D1 (tied with Dake and behind only Gabe Dean in the Cornell record book). One of the few guys who would choose top and against whom others would choose neutral. Could get a pin from top, bottom, and neutral. Was like wrestling an octopus with legs and arms everywhere. "Famously" beat 4xAA and then-#2 Willie Miklus 9-0 with 6:11 riding time despite Miklus taking neutral to start the third. MAGA: "Make Assassin Great Again"2 points

I'm speaking directly to those of you who want to use the clip of Kirk talking about the price of a second amendment as justification for the hideous reactions to his murder.......have you taken the time and effort to watch that discussion in its entirety, in its full context, or are you just running with the one sentence cherry picked from it and blasted all over social media?1 point

They don't seem to comprehend that these "news" sources of theirs exist only to make a profit and will happily post lies if it gets them more views. The same ones that excitedly "distrust mainstream media" for the sole reason of diverting attention to their $-for-view sites. Geez, we're in quite a pickle here with folks who don't even want to know better.1 point

Have any PSU guys come to the defense of Carter on this? Dudes not with NLWC which is big news considering he was PSUs 5 time champ. You don’t hear much talk about him at all from PSU. Seems like a good job of sweeping it under the rug.1 point

I think most would agree if we were doing subjective ranking. But you can't rank the guy who took 3rd in a tournament above the guy who won it. Just like at 125, I think Lilledahl is the favorite at 125, but I don't think he should be ranked above Robinson or Spratley. They're just rankings. It's not that big of a deal.1 point

The only two people I don't think he really has a chance to beat at 149lbs are Henson and SVN. He absolutely can beat anyone else currently listed at 149lbs.1 point

I tried to get back involved again in a uncommitted coaching roll, but 2 weekends in a row of spending the whole day in a gym after decades of the smell of mats and I decided my life needs some variety. Making wrestling your work sounds like the dream, but you give up so much. Now I'm enjoying the sport even more as a fan.1 point

We know quite a bit about Thomas Crooks. It just doesn't track with the juicy headline people want, so they ignored it. He had an extended descent into mental illness. Father reported finding him dancing and talking to himself in his room. His internet search history shows him researching severe depression. Started buying guns and explosives. Wrote an essay on the evils of divisive political campaigns for class. Here's some good reading: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/08/us/thomas-crooks-trump-shooter-butler-rally.html?searchResultPosition=1 I think the general takeaway is this kid had fairly middle of the road politics (came from a mixed politics family and peers report moderate opinions) and generally disliked how hostile American politics have become. Then he suffered a mental breakdown of sorts that eventually led to violent inclinations. The most divisive politician of his lifetime visited his hometown and, after the effects of the mental issues, it "made sense" to him to kill him. The golf-course assassin's case is more clear. He had a long criminal history and was a generally strange guy. Voted for Trump in 2016. Hated him by the end of his first term. Became obsessed with the war in Ukraine (tried to volunteer to fight for Ukraine). That is his stated motivation for the assassination attempt. This actually is a another good example of why your reliance on stereotypes is dangerous. The *accuracy* of your stereotypes is only as good as your knowledge of the world and you seem to have very little drive to learn about the world (lack of personal responsibility imo). All of this stuff has been out there for along time and is easily accessible. Instead, you just assumed because you hadn't seen it, it didn't exist.1 point

My hope last night was that this would turn out to be a wake up call to all of us that it is not the "woke libtards" or the 'maga wingers' that are brining our country down, but it is the hatred for different views and inability to talk to each other and understand that listening doesn't have to equal agreeing, but it is how real true progress is made and how things become great. It is literally the foundation of how we became the greatest nation in the world. And hoping that we would wake up this morning in remembrance in that dark day 24 years ago when we all did forget about R/D, red/blue, left/right, and it hit us in a violent way they we are all in this together, and try to get back to that again. I see this morning that many on this board are not having that wake up moment, along with many you see commenting under news articles and posting on social media. It really is sick. People want to convince themselves they are 'fighting the good fight' when all they are doing is contributing to destruction. Charlie once said when we stop talking to each other is when the violence starts. We are seeing that more and more and more. We will come to a point eventually where it is realized that constantly looking to fight and vilify the 'other side' will be the doom of our great nation, the history books give us all the evidence. I just hope that point comes before, instead of after, it happens. I for one just can't stand to see it anymore.1 point
