How impressive was it that Cael Sanderson called out people who beat Sasso this year flexing like they beat the previous version of him. He's not the same and it is what it is, D1 sports is a big business, no room for sentimentality. Wrestling is tough as hell for someone in perfect health, and the fact that he came back to wrestle division one after a close range gunshot wound to the abdomen is absolutely insane. The closest thing I can think of is when Doyle Trout lost his leg in a car crash and wrestled a dual for Wyoming a few years later. The little social media thing where the buckeyes said who on the team would make the best coach, and damn near EVERYONE on the team said "Sasso" was telling of how highly his teammates and coaches think of him.4 points

Ok, first update. PRIOR COMPETITORS WHO HAVE CONFIRMED THEY WANT TO PARTICIPATE Me. @MPhillips @flyingcement @Idaho @nhs67 @MizzouFan01 @JVStateChamp @RockLobster @Perry @steamboat_charlie @Truzzcat PRIOR COMPETITORS WHO HAVE NOT RESPONDED @lu_alum @Antitroll2828 @jajensen09 @Gage CURRENT WAITING LIST IN ORDER OF RESPONSE @BruceyB @okokzach @scorenomore @killdozer @MM2018 @charmon55 Not going to lie to you guys, if lu_alum doesn't show up, the scoring will be slower in prior years. Right now I'm thinking about Sunday, March 16 as the draft date.3 points

Wrestling fans - so bad they seemingly find any minor thing to annoyed with instead of enjoying the best time to ever watch wrestling. We can stream everything and we still complain.3 points

probably because Edmond Ruth went to NCAA's last year as a Big Ten Champ with a 22-2 record and a win over Rocco Welsh who made NCAA finals and Danny Braunagel is currently 8-8 with a 14-1 loss to Brevin Casella.3 points

If we knew about it. Why didn’t someone stop it before ? and even so …. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t stop it now.3 points

Pat Smith was pinned his freshman year at Ok St by NCAA Division II champion Dan Russell of Portland State on Jan. 5, 1990. It was, reportedly, the first time in Pat's life he had been pinned.3 points

Unbelievable, gents. We've made it to our FOURTH year of doing this. This will be our official thread as we start to put together the league. My plan for right now is we will be having a $25 entry fee. We will pay out as follows, team trophies like NCAAs so the top 4 get paid something. We cap the league at 15 players as always. The entry fees should total $375 ($25 x 15 players). 1st Place: $200 2nd Place: $100 3rd Place: $50 4th Place: $25 (money back) HERE ARE LAST YEAR'S ENTRANTS AND THEIR STATUS AS OF NOW @Antitroll2828 @JVStateChamp - confirmed wants to play @Perry - confirmed wants to play Me. The Kid. - confirmed wants to play @flyingcement @lu_alum @RockLobster @Gage @MizzouFan01 - confirmed wants to play @steamboat_charlie @Idaho @MPhillips - he got Biblical in response to the Mark of the Beast going onto the waiting list, so I think he's in @Truzzcat - confirmed wants to play @jajensen09 @nhs67 - confirmed wants to play My policy this year remains the same as last year: Prior year entrants have first dibs, but if I don't hear from you by a certain time (TBD) before the Draft (TBD also but has to be done by Tuesday night before NCAAs, because I fly out Wednesday morning) we will go to the wait list. Also, if you don't pay by that same time given to prior entrants, you lose your spot unless you get it paid before it's filled by someone off the wait list. The draft will be held using these forums and a Zoom call (Zoom was fun last year for those that joined!) to try to make it go as fast as possible. I'll hammer out the draft details in a later post. The rules remain the same: you draft one person per weight class, plus you get one "Wild Card" which can be any weight. The Draft will be snake style. HERE IS OUR CURRENT WAIT LIST, WHICH WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE @666 @BruceyB2 points

This is pure pop psychology and speculation. I have nothing to support it other than my over active imagination. I feel like Starocci goes into every match knowing, with absolute certainty, he starts with a 3 point lead. The first point comes from his confidence that he can apply enough pressure in nuetral and flatten his opponent out on top that he will 100% earn two stall warnings and a point. The second point comes from his belief that he will earn the riding time point. And the third comes from his belief that he will deny his opponent an escape point by putting in a two minute ride in the secomd or third. If he fails in the pursuit of one of these three then it is his own fault. He can worry about scoring in other ways if he needs to. But at the outset he never believes he will need to. This gives him the option to wrestle conservative when it suits him because he is already leading even when the score is 0-0.2 points

Would you stop guessing and think critically? What, When, Where, Who, Why, How. There was a misplaced DOGE slam because of the "mistake" of $8B saved for a contract that was actually $8M. I asked "how could this mistake have been made." This led me to identify that the contract said $8 Billion from Sept 2022 through Jan 22 2025. The mistake is not on DOGE for grabbing the available information. The mistake is on whomever entered the wrong number in Sept 2022, and whatever process allowed that mistake to go unnoticed. We'd then need to go think critically about how that occurred. Then what and or should DOGE execute to prevent bad contract data from impacting them in the future? Please review the language on the website. What do you think it means? I'm doing a lot of thinking for others...2 points

YOU show the details and proof!! You are the one starting 100 different threads but back up none of what you claim. Your arguments/claims amount to nothing but a bunch of nah ah, liar, convict, fox news, wingers, etc.....2 points

Hmmm, Parker had hair back then. I think things have changed. Based on this year's results, I'm taking Starocci, but would love an upset.2 points

Risk a loss and no longer be able to claim “greatest 197 lber ever”? Or duck out and keep claiming that status? For a guy that likes attention probably more than anything, that has to be quite a conundrum.2 points

Wouldn't miss this for the world. But be warned, I absolutely have bad intentions this year. I might even prepare prior to the draft. ...maybe2 points

Didn't realize Kyle Snyder was bumping up to heavyweight to throw cradles. That's the only Captain America 'round these parts. I think you are referring to Officer Farva2 points

It's a good indication that Ferrari is very good and a real potential future champ, I don't think any of us aren't impressed. Some of us just don't think it says much about him being a threat to beat Starocci, who has a track record of wrestling carefully and tactically at times based on his read of the big picture. Enjoyable to watch? No. But that's what Mesenbrink is for.2 points

Brooks got pinned by Marcus Coleman they just did not call it. Kollin Moore is not a goat but the kyle conel pin always sticks in my brain.2 points

Can't lose if you don't compete. He keeps himself out of trouble this year, his potential to be an NCAA champ is still in tact, and he gets some money to show up and compete somewhere next year..1 point

In any sane universe, they would be. First is do no harm. If you are against it, then you must consider they are doing harm. If doing harm, they are offending and what are they offending? The sexual organs of minors and the minors themselves. Sexual offenders. They are doing harm to minors sexually. mspart1 point

So sorry to hear. Sasso showed so much courage in trying to come back from such an injury. Wish him the best.1 point

I still wonder if Kerk or Hendrickson took him into the 3rd in a close match if they miiiight be able to wear him out and get a late takedown. I’ve thought that would be the only chance and that he possibly might not be in as good of wrestling shape as he’s been in the past. There haven’t really been any signs of that, however.1 point

David Taylor getting pinned by Bubba Jenkins really stands out to me. Couldn't believe when Bubba got that inside cradle locked up and was able to roll it through and stick DT on the biggest stage in wrestling.1 point
