@Tripnsweep, had a nice in depth conversation with a committee member of the Democratic party from the State of New York. Lives in a Blue county. When discussing the current situation the DNC has found themselves in at no point did the theory of "they're just dumb Trump voters" arise. If anything someone like yourself would be noted down as "part of the problem."4 points

He has not seriously said he would go to war on any of those areas. Panama has already cancelled their contracts with China. I think that will do what Trump wanted for the most part. Greenland will not be invaded, they are not an enemy. Mexico is only threatened if they don't deal with the cartels and Trump would only go after the cartels if he were to do anything. Not general war on Mexico. And Gaza, it is already a parking lot, what good would come of that. Panama - conceded Mexico - conceded Greenland - There's time for that to play out Gaza - I think Israel can handle that. mspart3 points

So your actual life, here in America, is actually really good. You’re mad at what the screen is telling you to be mad at. Either way, I’m sorry your focus and animosity is so cornered on that which is not a part of and not affecting your life. That sucks. I sure wouldn’t want to be stuck in that hell hole either.3 points

A real question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’ THE SERIOUS ANSWER: Here’s what the majority of anti-Trump voters honestly feel about Trump supporters en masse: That when you saw a man who had owned a fraudulent University, intent on scamming poor people, you thought "Fine." (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2018/04/10/trump-university-settlement-judge-finalized/502387002/) That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, "Okay." (https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-hotel-paid-millions-in-fines-for-unpaid-work) That when you heard him proudly brag about his own history of sexual abuse, you said, "No problem." (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/list-trumps-accusers-allegations-sexual-misconduct/story?id=51956410) That when he made up stories about seeing Muslim-Americans in the thousands cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center, you said, "Not an issue." (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/11/22/donald-trumps-outrageous-claim-that-thousands-of-new-jersey-muslims-celebrated-the-911-attacks/) That when you saw him brag that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and you wouldn't care, you exclaimed, "He sure knows me." (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/10/23/president-donald-trump-could-shoot-someone-without-prosecution/4073405002/) That when you heard him relating a story of an elderly guest of his country club, an 80-year old man, who fell off a stage and hit his head, to Trump replied: “‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away. I couldn’t—you know, he was right in front of me, and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him. He was bleeding all over the place. And I felt terrible, because it was a beautiful white marble floor, and now it had changed color. Became very red.” You said, "That's cool!" (https://www.gq.com/story/donald-trump-howard-stern-story) That when you saw him mock the disabled, you thought it was the funniest thing you ever saw. (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/donald-trump-criticized-after-he-appears-mock-reporter-serge-kovaleski-n470016) That when you heard him brag that he doesn't read books, you said, "Well, who has time?" (https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/01/americas-first-post-text-president/549794/) That when the Central Park Five were compensated as innocent men convicted of a crime they didn't commit, and he angrily said that they should still be in prison, you said, "That makes sense." (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/06/19/what-trump-has-said-central-park-five/1501321001/) That when you heard him tell his supporters to beat up protesters and that he would hire attorneys, you thought, "Yes!" (https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-trump-campaign-protests-20160313-story.html) That when you heard him tell one rally to confiscate a man's coat before throwing him out into the freezing cold, you said, "What a great guy!" (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/donald-trump-orders-protesters-coat-is-confiscated-and-he-is-sent-into-the-cold-a6802756.html) That you have watched the parade of neo-Nazis and white supremacists with whom he curries favor, while refusing to condemn outright Nazis, and you have said, "Thumbs up!" (https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/why-cant-trump-just-condemn-nazis/567320/) That you hear him unable to talk to foreign dignitaries without insulting their countries and demanding that they praise his electoral win, you said, "That's the way I want my President to be." (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-insult-foreign-countries-leaders_n_59dd2769e4b0b26332e76d57) That you have watched him remove expertise from all layers of government in favor of people who make money off of eliminating protections in the industries they're supposed to be regulating and you have said, "What a genius!" (https://www.politico.com/agenda/story/2017/12/29/138-trump-policy-changes-2017-000603) That you have heard him continue to profit from his businesses, in part by leveraging his position as President, to the point of overcharging the Secret Service for space in the properties he owns, and you have said, "That's smart!" (https://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles/2018-03-05/how-is-donald-trump-profiting-from-the-presidency-let-us-count-the-ways) That you have heard him say that it was difficult to help Puerto Rico because it was in the middle of water and you have said, "That makes sense." (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2017/09/26/the-very-big-ocean-between-here-and-puerto-rico-is-not-a-perfect-excuse-for-a-lack-of-aid/) That you have seen him start fights with every country from Canada to New Zealand while praising Russia and quote, "falling in love" with the dictator of North Korea, and you have said, "That's statesmanship!" (https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/02/politics/donald-trump-dictators-kim-jong-un-vladimir-putin/index.html) That Trump separated children from their families and put them in cages, managed to lose track of 1500 kids, has opened a tent city incarceration camp in the desert in Texas - he explains that they’re just “animals” - and you say, “Well, OK then.” (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/more-5-400-children-split-border-according-new-count-n1071791) That you have witnessed all the thousand and one other manifestations of corruption and low moral character and outright animalistic rudeness and contempt for you, the working American voter, and you still show up grinning and wearing your MAGA hats and threatening to beat up anybody who says otherwise. (https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/democracy/reports/2018/06/04/451570/confronting-cost-trumps-corruption-american-families/) What you don't get, Trump supporters, is that our succumbing to frustration and shaking our heads, thinking of you as stupid, may very well be wrong and unhelpful, but it's also... hear me... charitable. Because if you're NOT stupid, we must turn to other explanations, and most of them are less flattering.2 points

My take: It’s response. There have been in fact for decades been more qualified people passed over for jobs because of skin, gender, nationality, sexuality, etc etc…down right appearance. In response, movements and regulations have/had formed to move against this, which solicits a response. A response that solicits a response, which solicits a response, and so on until we get some of the ridiculous hires we had in the last administration solely in the name of diversity. Its simple. Don’t give a *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* what you do. You don’t force me to give a *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* what you do. We should all get along. The responsibility lies on both sides.2 points

How about him not implementing that Dec Plan until yesterday. There seems to be a cause and effect here. In Dec, Trump said he'd tariff Canadaa and Trudeau went to Mara Lago to discuss a plan. He didn't implement the plan so Trump said tarfiiffs tomorrow. Right on queue, Trudeau says the plan is now effective. Trump acts, Trudeau reacts. But you know that and still wish to provide misinfo and disinfo these boards. mspart2 points

Unhinged rhetoric, lying on basic easily looked up things, supporting the mutilation of children for gender re assignment, chemically castrating youth for gender confusion, not prosecuting violent crime, these are some of the things that will keep the Left on the outs. People are tired of it. Jasmine Crockett recently said 80% of violent crime is done by white supremecists. WHAT? Demonstrably not true. Calling Trump a dictator as Ilhan Omar has for things that Trump can legally do like reigning in USAID, setting tariffs, protecting the border. This is the kind of thing a good administrator does, protect the constituents, and control spending of consituents money. This kind of shrillness (don't get me started with Pocahontas) is not what the Ds need to be doing. The election was a rejection of that kind of mentality. But don't learn guys, that would be fine. mspart2 points

I guess you could say they were ahead of the curve. Every major college football program in the country would be doing backflips if they could get the #1 recruit in the country on campus for just $1mm. There's nothing stopping these guys from transferring. We haven't seen that extreme of an example yet in wrestling. But sure enough, if things continue the way they are now, sometime in the next few years we will see a top recruit go to a program, get paid half a million or more to redshirt, and then transfer a year later if they don't fit the lineup.2 points

I would say the majority of teachers are saints and deserve all the adulation in the world for what they do as well as deserve better pay; however, there is a small fraction of teachers that can't stop themselves from infusing their crazy political believes (one side or the other) on impressionable youths, that is a huge problem and should be rooted out and stopped. However, it shouldn't mean deaminizing the whole profession.2 points

It's not that Ohio State doesn't have any money. There are 74, maybe 75 teams out there that would trade places with them in an instant. But there are three teams out there that have more money, have more history, and have at minimum equivalent coaching staffs. NIL money isn't spent only on new recruits and transfers. You also have to utilize NIL to keep the guys you have. People mentioning Ohio State football--$16MM of that $20MM was spent on their own guys. ------- To the question at hand, I guess it depends. Is a top 5 team that occasionally takes home a trophy "cooked"? I think that's who they are in the current landscape, so if that qualifies then sure, they're cooked.2 points

From everything I've ever heard Tom Ryan say, it also appears that he is very deliberate about who he brings into his program, and cares about the culture and integrity of the team as much as the talent. I wonder how much this effects his willingness to recruit over guys and bring in outsiders that may improve the line-up but negatively effect the culture they have built. I think a large part of the reason recruits choose Ohio State is because of how genuine Tom Ryan is, and how much he truly cares about his relationships with his athletes. Who has transferred out of tOSU? Traub and Tessari are the only two I can think of. I'm not including Kerk because he didn't even spend his RS year there.2 points

Quite possible, but I have no idea. Very reasonable on the other hand to infer that Brands directed this, I seem to recall Ferrari saying something to the effect of, Whether and when I wrestle is up to Tom Brands. But the main point is that neither the coach or the wrestler has said anything (to my knowledge). This is the number two ranked team in a division one sport, with a coach that is one of the highest paid public employees in the state, that apparently deploys seven figures of NIL money a year, and that competes in front of 15,000 people a match, and it is routine that obvious questions come up to which fans want answers but are never asked or answered. Thus we offer basic speculation because we, absent any further edification from the team, see this decision: No known benefit to the team. Marginal at best benefit to the athlete. Conceivably what the athlete prefers now, but very well might not be in a year or two if he wants to transfer. You know, because he's very young, may not see the big picture as well as a 21 year old, and because when he's 21 his coach might (will!) recruit over him if the coach has the option, and then the wrestler might feel a little different about things.2 points
-
I hear where everyone is coming from, but I didn't hear mention of the fact that 2 guys on the "team" came close to dying, and are fighting back. Of course I'm talking about Sammy Sasso and head Coach Tom Ryan...I'm not an OSU fan, but I am a Tom Ryan fan. He's had some really good teams/individuals, including the national title in 2015. I like to think he'll do all the right things.2 points
-
The kid's clearly a narcissist. At PSU he'll have to battle for a starting spot and there's real risk he won't be in the lineup his first or second year. And why knows who PSU brings in over the next 4 yrs. at his weight. What does that do "the brand"? He won't be a Nittany Lion.2 points
-
Seems like just more of the same. Decision which to many serious fans' naked eye doesn't make sense. Giving up a year of eligibility for one match which has zero meaning to the team and seemingly minor meaning to the athlete. No explanation given (as far as I am aware). Thus speculation ensues. And there's been plenty on the Iowa board. Including blanket assertions of new NCAA rules which no one has reason to be confident in. Another challenging vacuum-filling explanation: He's not that good, so we don't mind burning a year of his eligibility. Nice, so we're presuming he may not be a long-term starter at Iowa, and if he changes his mind about whether he's good with that and hits the portal, he does so without that year of eligibility. But there I am speculating. Because, as usual, there is no plainly stated linear explanation for what happened. There is no rule that says the coach has to explain anything to the lowly fans. And sometimes there is a genuine competitive reason not to explain (kid has a specific injury and we don't want upcoming opponents to know). But that's not the case here, is it? Just like there wasn't a genuine competitive reason not to just say, Marinelli tore something in his ribs, he has to MFF out (because he's MFFing out of NCAAs, his season is over, so it doesn't matter if you say he's injured); instead, let's give a lot of roundabout rhetoric about his character and leave it for people to infer that he's a head case or having severe personal problems. Just like there is no rule the coach has to explain, there's no rule that fans on message boards can't say, geez, we don't see a logical reason here and speculate that maybe they can't count to five or that they aren't good decision makers. I generally like both the head coach and the associate head coach and even enjoy their quirks. But some of those quirks can be maddening and seem like self-inflicted wounds. If they were Cael, they could get away with it a lot easier. It's like Crash Davis says in Bull Durham, if you're winning you can have fungus on your shower shoes and it makes you colorful; but if you're not, then you're just a slob. Cael can give non-answers all he wants and get away with it; TnT, not so much.2 points

Wyoming fan who is also a fan of coach Branch here and couldn’t disagree more! You obviously don’t know much about our program but you will soon, some really good young kids in the program (Joey Novak, Jore Volk) to name a few and more on the way. The last two years have been an adjustment, coaches and wrestlers leaving in November hurt the program. Next year if healthy we should have ranked guys at 8 of 10 weights. We will be a top 15 team very soon! Go2 points
