I don't recall anyone stating Trump is a good character person who never lies. MAGA here wants consistency and objectivity. You can't have the moderators fact check only one candidate, refer to true facts as lies, and then ignore lies from the other candidate. The moderators and their ilk are outrageous, egregious, appalling.5 points

She was prepared because she clearly had the questions for the debate ahead of time. I would not be one bit surprised if her team is the one that wrote the questions and gave them to ABC! Trump had to debate against her and the two moderators. It was completely ridiculous.4 points

His house increased in value due to the current administration's impact—high inflation, low supply, and a surge of immigrants needing housing. It’s a case of haves and have-nots: homeowners can sell at record prices but face the same when buying. Those without homes see ownership becoming a distant dream due to rising costs. I have a personal home and rental home... and certainly like the value on paper for me while also understanding how frustrating it is for my young work colleagues. I don't want to think about the costs for my children.3 points

Despite earning significantly more money, and my wife returning to work after a decade off, I find that we can afford less than before. My kids are looking at insane college, insurance, and housing costs. My retirement plan will now need to be extended by a decade to meet my previous goals. I was coerced to covid vaccinate so as not to lose my job. Many of my work colleagues have left the company due to the downstream impact of politician driven policy outcomes. The media I once trusted is influencing public opinion in misleading ways and the public is too blissfully ignorant to understand. The people leading the country try to say what is good is bad and the bad is not happening. The current country trajectory (bigger government, less freedom, more inflation, more unnecessary expense, more spending) is shit and there are too many people that want the status quo. I will be fine and have plenty to be grateful for. You are off target.3 points

Trump is a bad man. Biden is a bad man. Harris is a bad woman. Quality of life was better (for me) under Trump than the previous four years. Quality of life is worse under Biden than it has been in my lifetime, and the future is setup to be even worse for my kids. Trump's policies are better for USA citizen families now and later.3 points

Kamala didn’t give any real details about her plans, repeated the media’s lies, and twisted Trump’s positions, and low information voters will buy it. Even the fact-checkers were biased. All Trump had to do was talk about what he got done last time, his policies, and his vision for new cities. We should not allow another deep state candidate take office. It’s one thing for a politician to lie, but it’s a whole different level when a group of influencers all push the same lies right in our faces.3 points

It's comical how voters who already have their minds made up lie to themselves that debates somehow sway the "other" voters3 points

I tend to agree with you more often than not. But here, I see things differently. This is a driver who has broken at least two laws and was now being pulled over for criminal behavior. It's not like he didn't do anything wrong - he had. And he all but admitted it. To paint the picture, imagine the driver of the car being white and imagine him have two loaded handguns - one under each leg. Now watch it again. That is the potential reality that cops have to deal with. It is why they need to control the situation. It isn't necessarily a racist thing as much as it is a situational one. "Controlling the situation" can and does get ugly. But it keeps cops coming home in their cars instead of in boxes. Any notion that citizens who are committing crimes are somehow on equal footing as police officers is wrongheaded.3 points

The politicians we elect have a direct impact on our well being. Politicians dictate how much tax we pay, what policies are law, how federal programs are run, etc. I am glad you are fine but there are definitely Americans that are not. There are certain necessities like food, housing, insurance, and healthcare that are not optional that have increased so much that you can't just go without to compensate.2 points

There were no moderators, they were associate competitors. Not once did they contradict any of the many confirmed lies Harris repeated. Too many of the questions were obvious set-ups and her answers too practiced. Serious, intelligent people noticed this. Alas, many voters are not serious and intelligent. I personally would hope that if we are to have a woman president, it wouldn’t be one who would kill her own baby. While it’s true that it’s illegal in all 50 states to strangle a newborn, there are states where it is not illegal to allow a baby born alive as the result of a botched abortion, to be left untended, to strangle on its own. Dimocrats defeated the bill that would have required life supporting care for these babies. Barbaric. Serious, intelligent people see that one of the candidates wants to end or prevent all wars, all the killing. The other is content to provide the weapons for now, your sons and daughters if necessary, to promote her authority. If she’d be willing to kill her own, she’ll have no qualms killing yours.2 points

He had no spot in the lineup at Mizzou except 184. 165-KOT, 174-Mocco 184 Hawks was a returning NQ, 197-Rocky. Harmon was also 184, just a lot of kids kids for one weight class. He and Harmon have transferred. From what I’ve been told he came on campus around 190, and wanted to go 174 initially. Good luck to him at Minny.2 points

A damn good podcast overall. Worth getting into your rotation to simply learn about a lot of things. Just listened to an Aug 11 podcast titled “Extra: Here’s why you are not an elite athlete (update)”. A good listen. Covers a wide range of topics. Many debated here. - Talent (it exists) - early specialization (suggests not good) - so many strive yet end up worse off income wise when don’t hit it big And more - importance of mind, sacrifices. If you are a hard core sports junkie, perhaps too ‘light’ for you and perhaps topics are already well covered for you. For me, it was just right.1 point

This benefits the current home owners, whose home values will increase by more than $25K. Sort of like how my used pinball machine values instantly increased $1K+ when the covid money was distributed.1 point

Again, I didn't see it. AND I don't say the movie was gross. What I said was that if I got one tingle in my spine bc of thinking about successful marketing strategies I would feel gross.1 point

I don't know how they get away with it but look at this ABC News article that supposedly fact-checked the debate. Even it has lies and has the media spin on it. The people that blindly trust the media are a huge part of the problem. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/fact-checking-kamala-harris-donald-trumps-1st-presidential/story?id=1135679971 point

Willie, I truly appreciate what you guys do to run the forum. I aslo understand the bills need to be paid with some advertising. That said, the experience on phones is not very good with the new ads. There has to be a better way to do it than what is in place right now. There is too much screen coverage and blocking of elements and controls. Desktop is OK. Thanks again for what you guys do. -Phil1 point

Words are a trap! What happens if you don't care for a baby after it is born. It dies. There are multiple cases of babies being born alive and the care providers let it die. Believe it or not!1 point

What proposed tax incentives will make it actually affordable to have children? I visited my grandmother last night and she gave me my grandfather's pay stub from 1973. He made $6.43 an hour or about $13.5K annual salary. The avg house cost $32K. Based on inflation today his pay would be $95K and the avg house would cost $230K. The actual average cost is $495K. Trump's idea to create new cities with new housing and deporting the illegals would help balance the housing supply & demand, as well as increase job opportunities. Shrink the government, shrink the taxes. Put more money in the hands of earners. More of this will help...1 point

This is starting to divide people in the wrestling community for real. The media does this garbage in the national news-dividing people over dumb things. I don't want the same type of crap in our community. But I know it gets clicks and $. Really is disheartening.1 point

It was one of his better moments. As much as I'd like to see Ukraine win it's almost a foregone conclusion that this will end in a deal. Ukraine doesn't have the manpower to sustain this for the long haul and Putin is willing to kill every last Russian soldier to save face. Not totally buying the nuclear threat. There are too many oligarchs that want to go yachting during the summer in the Mediterranean1 point

He got his ass kicked, or maybe more accurate, he did his own best debate version of Jim Carey in Liar Liar, and kicked his own ass. Either way…. This race is over. Even more republicans are going to come out against him now. The’re going to want to do the same thing the Democrats did, but they can’t because they’re too far sunk in the bed. Bah bye.1 point

Trump's communication is so off-putting that Kamala could easily come out ahead by being truthful and focusing on policies. Kamala comes across as so fake, dishonest, and irritating that Trump should stick to discussing policies and ignore her completely. ***duck** us all, we definitely need better leaders, and we need critical thinkers.1 point

Grew up playing travel soccer until I focused solely on football come fall. Disagree on the culture problem. I would equate it more to what we have in wrestling with states like PA and Ohio where wrestlers go to their club team and are getting trained by former All Americans. Same thing with Soccer overseas. The kids are getting taught to play by former players with a lot of knowledge. This isn't happening in US youth soccer1 point

I hate you for making me read that piece of garbage article. Every sentence is a hot mess of very poor AI writing. How you can read that and think it was about college is beyond me.1 point

That's because the article is garbage. Did you read it? It looks like it was written by a beta version of the world's crappiest AI engine. The context is they were talking about recent events. It was NLWC and it was post-grad.1 point

It is sad what has happened to Rutgers. Ashnault, Pritzlaff, and Rivera are gone. If Buxton also leaves, it will be a big disappointment. The Rutgers head coach is a great salesman and can recruit. But, lost the trust and respect of a number of top coaches and wrestlers. The Rutgers fan base deserves better. It is one of the best fan bases in the country.1 point
