Rutgers only made the top 10 in 2019. It’s been downhill since then finishing 34th and 36th the last two years. Rutgers sells thousands of season tickets and continues to draw big crowds. With home matches against Lehigh, Iowa, and Penn State they will remain in the top 5 in attendance. The administration seems to settle for wrestling mediocrity and won’t rock the boat. They remain a sleeping giant.

Right decision. Can’t run into the stands and hit a minor. In life there are consequences for one’s actions. If he wasn’t a prominent wrestler, the penalty would have been harsher. I believe in second chances. Hope he learns from his mistakes and wins multiple titles.

What is going in at Rutgers? Many fans upset with the team going backwards since 2019. Looks like Mytych, their best recruiter, was forced out. Then he may have posted negative stuff about Goodale. A one point Goodale praised Mytych as the guy who opened the door to Pennsylvania recruiting. Lots of complaints about results since Pritzlaff, Buxton, and Rivera left for Columbia. Since they left, Rutgers finished 34th and 36th. Rumors that Goodale's contract is up next year and fans dreaming about JB.

Anyone who wants to succeed in life and on the mat should wrestle for Donny Pritzlaff. You will never regret it.

Rutgers has more resources than most other schools with one of the most passionate fan bases. The wrestlers on the team and fans deserve better. They have recruited so many highly ranked wrestlers that weren't developed at the All American level. After 19 years, it is time for a change. Goodale deserves to be honored for for reviving a program that was about to be cut. He needs to step aside before he tarnishes his reputation and his achievements are forgotten. Hopefully, he does the right thing for the team, the fans, the school, and himself.

With Knox going to Rutgers wouldn't be surprised if Smith enters the portal. Think Smith is too small for 133 and can't imagine him sitting for 3 years.

I thought Goodale was a dual meet guy.

When Goodale first started a lot of top Jersey wrestlers signed with Rutgers. After the team failed to meet expectations, kids started to go out of state. Give Goodale credit for reviving the program. It was nothing when he took over.Hopefully, he realizes that he has taken the program as far as he can and steps down. If he remains it is a selfish move and could result in a further program decline.

Rutgers is great at promoting. Just doesn’t live up to expectations. They just lost to NC State 27 to 11. Major coaching issues.

Pritzlaff, Buxton, and Rivera left for Columbia. Ashnault left for Princeton. Lots of rumors why they left. Team has experienced off the mat issues with lack of discipline and lack of a highly respected All American coach. Out of state recruiting is good. In state coaches and kids see the lack of success since 2019 and go elsewhere. School does great job promoting the sport, has one of the best training facilities, and is located in a hot bed for recruiting.
