  1. Yes we see it happening all the time. They win Woman of the year, Beauty pagents, etc. Face it, men are just better at being women than women are. It is now proven. They make faster runners, stronger weightlifters, faster swimmers etc. Men are just better at being women. mspart

  2. Good for JB. I hope he makes the world team and wins it all and leaves his shoes on the mat to complete his storybook ending. When to hang it up in athletics and otherwise is a question all of us face. I'm one of those guys who think you might as well go until the wheels fall off. Make or miss the team, JB is a legend who has inspired many young people to wrestle. That's the biggest impact anyone can make on a sport.

  3. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/target-may-have-solved-one-of-retails-biggest-problems-theft-103150947.html On a call with reporters, Its CFO and COO Michael Fiddelke told Yahoo Finance the company has hit a plateau when it comes to shrink, including retail theft. "[Inventory shrink] was one of the tailwinds to profit in the quarter, and as we stepped into the year, our aim was to have shrink plateau, and so to improve from the deterioration we've seen over the last couple of years, two quarters in — we're achieving that and then some," Fiddelke said. Shrink can be the result of theft, damage, or poor record keeping, among other factors. In its second quarter report, Target's 28.9% gross profit margin beat estimates, up from 27% a year ago. Target said shrink increased by more than $500 million last year compared to 2022, "representing about 50 basis points of incremental rate pressure," Fiddelke said on the company's Q4 earnings call in March. Part of the strategy included closing nine stores at the end of last October. "We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance," the company said in a statement at the time. The closed stores included one in Harlem, New York City; two in Seattle; three near San Francisco and Oakland, Calif.; and three in Portland, Ore. At some hard-hit stores, Target also installed locking cases for "prone to theft" merchandise. Target, on a limited basis, implements tools such as locking cases for merchandise categories that are prone to theft. This Target store located in Jersey City. Good thing things are so much better than we thought. Now we have to go grab an employee to unlock the case so we can get the thing we want. I'm so happy crime is down now. mspart

  5. I personally couldn't care less about this and what he said, but you have to be completely delusional to think if Trump/Vance said anything remotely close to this the MSM and the D's wouldn't be screaming racist from every roof top they could find. For crying out loud they lost their minds when Trump called Covid the "Wuhan Virus"...which isn't even remotely racist. Virus used to be named after their origin...not anymore because of guess who...???

  8. Which of Biden's were your favorite? Not even a smart question when your guy didn't bother to debate anyone in his primary. Or for that matter allow anyone else of consequence to participate. So why bring this up when Trump has offered 3 dates and Kamala only answers to two? I'm really not sure what you are trying to prove with your insightful little quip. mspart

  12. I think the IBJJF rules are about right on the points systems. TDs count less than establishing a dominant position but count more than positive actions that does not results in scoring. An almost sweep, guard pass or submission attempt is an advantage than only serve as a tie breaker. And there are reasonable standards on how good the attempt has to be to count as an advantage. A successful TD is my opinion should count for more than a good attempt that was ultimately unsuccessful. I hate guard pulling but it makes sense it the context of most BJJ mathcces There are lots of other issues with the BJJ rules sets and how strategies have evolved around them. IMO BJJ is just not a spectator friendly sport and not sure how much they should really change the rules to make it more exciting for spectators.

  14. I think you could also look at this as a reaction to the Left for a long time only talking about "toxic masculinity." Since we're so polarized (at least online), the Right embraced everything about masculinity especially the stuff branded as "toxic." So you get voices like Andrew Tate with a following despite that fact that when I've unfortunately seen his stuff, nothing about it presents a positive view of masculinity at all. But the Left didn't really have a vision for what masculinity in the 21st century seemingly beyond embrace your feminine side. There are books like Of Boys and Men by Richard Reeves that discuss the issues that are facing men, so I think how men succeed in the modern world is a real question. I don't think the man-o-sphere stuff is correct, but it's the loudest voice out there. I wish all sides would consider the question more constructively.

  17. But what if you bought at the peak $1M (cost basis) and its now worth $750,000 (fair market value) = -$250,000 (unrealized capital loss) x 25% = $62,500 the amount the IRS owes you. Will there be a check in the mail?

  20. Sounds like a fantastic trip. I have done a few of those things, too. The wife and I circumnavigated Lake Michigan and Pictured Rocks was the highlight. There is a 12 mile hike there where you go 2 miles through the woods from the parking to the shoreline, then hike 8 miles along a cliff overlooking Superior, then 2 miles back through a forest to the car. Amazing views. If you ever get there again it is highly recommended.

I’m not sure if it’s corruption, insider trading, or bribes….. but something. why are pelosi and Feinstein worth 230m combined on their 150/200k annual salary. Yes repubs do it too before you post. They are just as corrupt. https://www.celebritynetworth.com/list/top-50-democrats/

  24. I think you can make light of stereotypes about groups you are in, but that's received much differently when you make jokes based on stereotypes of groups you aren't in. I don't think there would be much outrage if Trump said he didn't like spicy food. I do remember outrage that Hillary said she brings hot sauce with her everywhere because it was assumed she was pandering to a black audience. https://theweek.com/speedreads/619127/clinton-stirs-anger-by-claiming-carries-hot-sauce-bag-like-beyonc

  28. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/jul/24/threads-posts/no-trump-isnt-backing-down-from-a-debate-with-harr/ A July 23 Threads post included side-by-side photos of Harris and Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, with the caption, "Trump has announced he won’t debate Kamala Harris. Is he afraid of her?" The claim isn’t accurate. On a July 23 call with reporters hosted by the Republican National Committee, Trump said he’d be "absolutely" willing to debate Harris "multiple times." "I think if you’re … the Democratic nominee or Republican nominee, you really have an obligation to debate," he said. We rate the claim he announced he won’t debate Harris False. So your claim Vak, is false. mspart

I hope they stick with Greco, as they're a pleasure to watch. Their style is to high-risk to win consistently in freestyle against the top guys, but it's just so hard to beat in Greco.

He’s already got himself in excellent shape, so why not try to end on a high note of maybe winning another world title? He believes he’s capable, and I don’t doubt him
