I guess there in lies the fundamental difference between you and I….you think of it as a punishment. It is not punishment. It is responsible for your actions. No matter how you try to slice it, the person (except in the case of rape/sexual abuse) made a decision, a choice. And yes, you (that person) are responsible for the results, whatever they may be, of that choice. In this case it happens to be creating another living being. And yes, you are responsible for the care of that living being, because it is SOLELY there as a result of the choice you made, and can only live, for a period of time, under your direct care, which means….sharing your body. That’s how the fetus develops and grows until it no longer needs your body. There are then procedures for, should you need to or choose to, choose not to care for that being beyond the point that you are the only one on the planet that can. I’m not saying there aren’t scenarios in which I’m okay/for abortion. I’m saying this argument of punishment and without consent is just……bullshit. Let me ask you this, and I would appreciate a direct answer without dancing around or moving the goal posts. Who in this scenario had more of a choice…the living being that created the action, or the living being that was the result?

The women's 400m free will almost certainly have the world record holder plus two former world record holders. This will be a barn burner. Katie Ledecky, the greatest female swimmer of all-time, and former world record holder is NOT the favorite. That title goes the Ariarne Titmus of Australia, the current world record holder. Titmus broke Ledecky's record in 2022. But Ledecky might not even be second favorite. In 2023 Canada's Summer (seems a good name for a swimmer) McIntosh broke Titmus' record only to have Titmus reclaim the record at last year's World Championship (where Ledecky finished second and McIntosh fourth). With the three fastest women ever in the same field it will not disappoint.

The Olympics have always been among my favorite athletic events. For the most part, it’s still up there, but every Olympic cycle it becomes a bit more frustrating. Why? Because there are a number of Olympic competitions that cheapen what it has traditionally meant to win an Olympic gold medal. I would consider them to fall into one of the two following categories: 1. non-sports - example would be shooting or equestrian. There are competitors in these competitions that are literally in their 40s or 50s and well past their athletic peak. 2. Could technically be considered a sport but not a real test of athleticism or widely participated in the same way that more classic Olympic events like Track, swimming or wrestling are. Some examples would be skateboarding or BMX racing. The 2024 Summer Olympics will have 32 “sports”. By my count a third to a half fit the two conditions above. Off the top of my head break dancing, BMX racing, equestrian, sailing and skateboarding are competitions that don’t belong in the Olympics. A gold medal winner in these is in no way comparable to a gold medal winning runner or swimmer. It’s a shame what the Olympics are turning into. They lose the prestige it means to win a gold a little more every cycle. Ok, rant over. Let the games begin.

It's hard to discredit perfection when you beat the likes of Andy Hrovat (Michigan) 4:24 FALL Brad Vering (Nebraska) 1:58 FALL Brandon Eggum (Minnesota) 6-1 as a freshman. Not to mention Jon Trenge and Daniel Cormier as finals opponents on the way to his 4. He didnt beat an olympic gold medalist, but an olympic medalist. Dake's one edge seems like winning at 4 weights.

I don't think Coleman's roots run deep enough at tOSU for him to be much involved in recruiting. I'm thinking Coleman is biding his time at the RTC until another top head coaching position opens up. I'm sure tOSU knows that too, it's RTC only. It isn't like he's threatening the post-Ryan pecking order. But I have no doubt he's going to do excellent work while he's there.
