  2. I read where A&W put out a 1/3 pounder priced the same as the McDs 1/4 pounder. Sales did not increase. They did a study and found most people thought the DQ was a worse deal because 3 is less than 4. https://awrestaurants.com/blog/aw-third-pound-burger-fractions Yes, normal people do not know fractions. Unbelievable! mspart

  3. Stall bars - used for many arm and core exercises. For wrestling, you can start on your knees and climb your way up only using your arms - do pull ups - work your way back down only using arms. Lots of stretching, core work and bands can be used with them as well. Also, you can hang your towels from them.

  5. Holy crap...reading the last couple pages, this is exactly what I was thinking. People's reading comprehension is atrocious! It is such a weak and tiresome approach to any debate, take what someone has said/written and twist it to try and mean something it absolutely didn't in order to make a stupid/idiotic point. SMH I long for the days of when people would just listen and try to understand what someone is actually saying. You may not like it, but you move on. My favorite on the last couple of pages was how someone was belly aching that "conservatives" were trying to cancel them for being "pro-Palestinian"...never mind the fact that he was camped out on a campus (illegally), chanting hate speech and probably leaving a ton of garbage and causing damage to the campus...NO, that isn't why he is going to get canceled, it's because he is just "pro-Palestinian". Absolute idiot!

  9. https://www.crfb.org/blogs/interest-costs-just-surpassed-defense-and-medicare In the first seven months of Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, spending on net interest has reached $514 billion, surpassing spending on both national defense ($498 billion) and Medicare ($465 billion). Overall spending has totaled $3.9 trillion thus far. They said we would get here and now we have. Debt is the #1 expenditure int he budget and that is not bringing any of the debt down. It is only paying the interest. We cannot keep going like this. mspart

  10. I'm very bullish on Mutarelli his top game is about as elite as it gets, he's wrestled Sement 3 times in the past year and has yet to give up a point. Very hopeful that Olivarez goes to college but as Willie mentioned he's already super elite in BJJ and I know he trains striking as well. I'm guessing he has pretty serious MMA aspirations and 4-5 years of college may hamper those a bit. Mutarelli feels like a Lehigh guy to me.

But, Rasta, you have probably committed a felony within the past 48 hours and I bet you did not make a decision to do so . https://www.mic.com/articles/86797/8-ways-we-regularly-commit-felonies-without-realizing-it

  16. Green is not clean. Green kills. Where were the Sierras who tie up all useful projects in courts for decades when we (and by we I mean trees, turtles, you know - the things Sierras really think are important) really needed them to gum up the works? No where to be found. Because it is not really about the environment. It is about sticking it to "the man" whom the Sierras have come around to think of as normal Americans.

Is it any wonder people who do not know 62% is greater than 6 in 10 also think things like the climate hoax, Russian pee hookers, mRNA experiments are safe and effective vaccines, the laptop was fake, and that only biologists can tell if the newest supreme court justice is a woman or not?

  19. That’s awesome, I feel like Oregon state has really built a pipeline to California. For Ronnie - Are there any other schools that he is interested in? Same for Murarelli? I thought some big schools who need a 125/133 or depths for those weight would go after them like an Iowa, Nebraska, Arizona, and maybe even Illinois (who has Imar and relatively recruit well in CA). Oliveraz- I heard that about him. I was hoping he would choose wrestling over jiu jutsi since he got a lot of great wins within the past year. Is it a done deal for him not to choose wrestling after HS? Millers - I am curious to see what happened since it would be hard to fit bother in the lineup at some university. Both great kids and wrestlers, really intrigued in their landing spot. If going to Iowa Tyrel would be sitting behind Angelo or Gabe for 2 years unless he does a grey year + redshirt year, then only a year; but don’t know if that’s the best case scenario? Also at tOSU, it seems like they would have the most clear path to start there. Just both may have to sit a year due to Welsh, Schumate, Ryder, and Geog occupying 174/184/197. So interested to see what happens. Zinkin took visits to ISU, Nebraska, N. Carolina, Oregon St., and OSU. Curious to see who leads! Botello is a stud, it would be awesome for him to go to Northwestern. Coming from Sem to Northwestern would seem like a nice transition when it come to academia. Also, BJ and Storniolo are great light weight coaches. I’m surprised other big schools are not after him or is he more high or academics? excited to see where these guys land!

  20. Great topic. Ramirez looked really good in Vegas. Oregon State is high on his list and the same goes for #71-Mutarelli who didn't wrestle postseason b/c of transfer rules. Olivarez might not wrestle in college. He's a homeschool kid that is a jiu jutsi prodigy. as just a JR in hs he qualified for ADCC's. I'm not sure what the Miller's do. Obviously it's difficult to find clear paths to starting at two weights at the same time. I think Iowa leads. The other two big ones left uncommitted are - Cali Champ Nikade Zinkin who jumped 20+ lbs since winning a title at 126 in Feb. I'll have an update on where he's looking shortly. - and Matt Botello who, frankly, i probably ranked too low. he has really good wins including Jordyn Raney at Ironman. I think he's a Cornell / Northwestern type of profile and Cornell already has like 3-4 great commits at 33-49. so i'm not real sure.

  21. I think one important aspect of this debate, and it is a very good one with a lot of good substance on both sides, but not to confuse ‘regulated’ with ‘disarm’ (or the like). Regulated does not mean not allowed to bear arms.

  23. The wisdom of the past is important! "The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776 "I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, January 30, 1787 "To disarm the people...[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them." - George Mason, referencing advice given to the British Parliament by Pennsylvania governor Sir William Keith, The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adooption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788 "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every country in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops." - Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, October 10, 1787 "The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms, like law, discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The balance of power is the scale of peace. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside. And while a single nation refuses to lay them down, it is proper that all should keep them up. Horrid mischief would ensue were one-half the world deprived of the use of them; for while avarice and ambition have a place in the heart of man, the weak will become a prey to the strong. The history of every age and nation establishes these truths, and facts need but little arguments when they prove themselves." - Thomas Paine, "Thoughts on Defensive War" in Pennsylvania Magazine, July 1775 "The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." - Samuel Adams, Massachusetts Ratifying Convention, 1788 "On every occasion [of Constitutional interpretation] let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying [to force] what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, [instead let us] conform to the probable one in which it was passed." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, 12 June 1823

I would say Meredith Is one of the more credentialed and pico despite not having a college career. Not an american but Rinya nakamura won u23's in 2017 and took 5th at senior worlds the same year.

  36. As others have mentioned the change in takedowns needed for a tech likely make this equivalent to no change at all. I’m not sure why anyone would think there would be a major change in the number of takedowns though? I was a fan of the rule change because I think it is a better reflection of who is the better wrestler. Takedowns are tough to get and should be worth more than 2 escapes IMO. I’ve always assumed though, that if a wrestler can take down their opponent, they would do it whether it’s worth two or three points.

  39. It is sad that word games (euphemisms) are necessary to help people tolerate their personal decision to end an innocent life. That's not a baby, its a fetus. It's not a fetus, its a clump of cells. It's not alive. That's not deliberate murder, that's termination of a human life. No, its a medical procedure. No, its abortion. And then the way to get everyone to agree is to focus on the extremes... as if the majority wants the mother to die at the cost of her newborn. Those fascists want you to die! The don't believe in personal autonomy. Lies. Deceiving themself; too cowardly to face the truth of their decision. Too self-indulgent to care about the new life they created. The machine has been in the business of destroying the family for 100 years and counting. These young mothers probably can't even make their bed, how are they going to raise a child?

  41. Was able to get the wife to see this with me. We were the only ones in the theater. I feel like they didn't do a great job marketing this, I probably would've never heard about it if not for FRL. Not bad though. Does it count as spoilers if it's a documentary? But anyway, I'm not sure if I realized the extent of her injury during the trials, which apparently occurred while wrestling RBY. Outside of Helen of course, Mark Perry seemed to be considered somewhat of another hero of the film. No badmouthing of NLWC of course (we did get a glimpse of some dodgeball practice), but lots of praise for Perry. Also not sure if I was aware of the rich couple that seemingly funds Sunkist. A forum poster's daughter even had a small speaking part.
