You're bringing up this year, but your team took 11th. You're bringing up the lack of a trophy this year without acknowledging that they lost multiple starters (including high point scorers) to a stupid (and illegal) gambling sting operation that only two schools in the country had to deal with. You're criticizing bringing in transfers while your team is actively recruiting transfers. You're just being disingenuous because you want to dunk on Iowa, but they literally outperformed your team (and it's two total team trophies). I have to grin and bear it from teams that beat Iowa, but not from the 11th place finisher who on a yearly basis underperform their seeds, no sir, not on my watch.5 points

in a world full of crushing bores and self consciously edgy nerds it's very refreshing to see that Suriano has grown up to be an genuine oddball. An honest to goodness eccentric. I'll take this every day over stuff like Ben Askren's dorm room libertarian nonsense or AB's god talk.4 points

As if Iowa cares about that. You don't get the 5th best team money can buy by worrying about stuff like that.4 points

Once they are done with the portal I think Iowa's lineup looks like this for next year: 125: Figueroa 133: Crookham 141: Alirez/Mendez 149: Alirez/Henson 157: Haines 165: Mesenbrink 174: Starocci 184: Keckeisen 197: Buchanan 285: Kerkvliet There will be a three way wrestle off between Alirez, Henson, and Mendez for the two spots. With this lineup, I think they keep it a little closer to PSU, but in the end it isn't enough.3 points

Sure, but that's not what the pastry is doing. He's pretending that there is some rampant belief that Iowa is getting any or all of these guys into the room, thus when they don't come, it's now worthy of mockery. The only guy there is any sustained speculation about is Parco, and that's because actual news guys like Willie are mentioning it as a possibility. The other stuff is either the notoriously untrustworthy Minnow or just one guy making wild speculation.3 points

I just purchased a new John Deere ballot harvesting combine. It can harvest 1200 votes per hour. Which state should I start in first? I might need to get an entire fleet of combines by the look of things.3 points

No different than what people do on here penciling in transfers to their team's lineup.... did you read the part that says "This would be a great lineup"?3 points

trump was way up in PA and Michigan and Wisconsin. his lead was so big in Wisconsin that, according to CNN's lead election anchor, what happened thereafter was statistically impossible. don't shoot the messenger.3 points

Trump was way up in Philadelphia before a truck showed up dumping ballots without postage. Do you remember the folks that watched the vote counters in Philly had to stand about 40 yards away? It was fraud on an epic scale.3 points

list of guys I can see doing it from most to least confident Marcus Blaze (watching Lilledahl torch the field this week but not being able to really touch blazes legs kinda speaks volumes on just how good this kid is) Bo Bassett: my only real concern with Bo is burnout or injury I love his work ethic but waking up before 5 am during your developmental years constantly to train and it seems hes been doing it for years feels like it could come back to bite you but I may be reading too much into that I just think in a 7 minute match its gonna be hard for guys to stop him + he has 2 years of high school left) Ben Davino: I think hes lost once in 2-3 years in high school has not wrestled senior level like some of his peers but he has the last wins over blaze, forrest, knox I also think hes a career 133 which bodes well for him imo and I expect him to red shirt. Jax Forrest: This weekend was a bump in the road for Jax but im wondering if making 125.4 two weekends in a row and going through tough competition Is too much for him. Hes wrestled between 121 and 126 for like 2 years now and he has a huge frame would like to see him take time to grow like Bo did. The talent is not a question and his feel I think is just something you're born with the two more years of high school is also in his favor here. PJ duke: I wanted to see him against higher level comp and he blew me away.Probably not a real concern its just one match but he did seem tired against Webster in the second, Webster was just trying to make something happen and walked into an inside trip so I guess I have a small concern about his tank for 7 minutes but he has another year of high school so im not all too concerned Luke Lilledahl: Only thing that hurts my confidence in Luke is I think hes going right away and I believe hes a bit better at free than folk. That being said I absolutely think he could win it next year PSU if they have anything going against them is their 125 track record. Aedon Sinclair: If he goes right away for Missouri I don't think he gets it done, hes incredible but he did struggle with the physicality of the more mature guys at the LCQ so I think he needs some time to mature. Connor Mirasola: For a heavier guy this kids ability to score in different ways on his feet are absolutely unreal. Ladarion Lockett: Would like to see his handfight evolve a bit he may have issues with guys that are super positionally sound if he can't open them up. Melvin Miller: He's only a freshman in high school but this kids ability to find angles on his feet are beautiful to watch if you have not watched him wrestled Id watch his run through cadets its unreal. Hes also probably going to end up somewhere between 174-197 which given his skillset I think is a huge plus. I just think one of the other guys will do it first. Dreshaun ross: just a specimen of a human being kids like 7 feet tall and moves like a lighter guy, Unfortunately I think we may lose him to football.3 points

I can't explain everything to you. But two tiers of the justice system look at Jan 6th scam vs the Antifa riots or the document case. They bring charges against Trump but liberal Judge says Biden is too old and decrepit to stand trial, but he is Ok to run the country.2 points

Little known fact is, not only is Dake getting younger, he is also getting larger and smaller at the same time. It is a quantum thing. If you aren't a theoretical physicist you wouldn't understand. But, as a result, he is actively petitioning the NCAA to change the compete at one weight rule. Cornell and PSU lawyers (again - the quantum thing) are all over this.2 points

Really want to bring up the past? I remember when Iowa won trophies and titles with their own wrestlers. Now they buy 2/3 of their points and still can't trophy. How's that working out? I understand that times have changed, but christ, if they even did a half-assed job of developing their own talent this year then they half trophied.2 points

LOL Missouri is literally recruiting transfers HARD right now as we speak. They were in on McGonagle (and lost out) and are currently in on Hendrickson.2 points

Maybe Mizzou should get some "store-bought transfers" because having 5 of "their own wrestlers" go 0-2 at the dance can't be fun.2 points

The Democrats already have a fleet of ballot harvesting combines. I think Corn Pop is one of the operators. Oh wait . I think he might have been eaten by a cannibal.2 points
-
IMO the Republicans better learn how to ballot harvest very quickly. Dems have it figured out.2 points
-
I whole heartedly disagree. I have never heard of ballot harvesting on the right. I can show you hours of video evidence of people admitting to it being convicted of it, and getting out of jail and doing it all over again because the money's so good. Look up the old project veritas stuff of ballot harvesting.2 points

If you look at Carter's redshirt year and his RSFr year stats he was wrestling close matches with NQ type guys (Jared Siegrist, Ben Harvey, lost to Donnell Washington). He did not have any signature wins over AA's his redshirt year and had a bunch of close matches his RSFr year. Starocci is a winner and found a way to win all of those close matches. Dake did the same. We will see if Gabe and Angelo are able to do the same.2 points

With the situation at North Dakota State deteriorating quite rapidly, it remains to be seen if Hayden Hidlay will be there for too much longer. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get picked up by Buffalo or another team now that has an opening. He worked with Gaven Sax through his break-out season in what would have otherwise been a major bust of a season for the Bison. With Sax and others in the portal, Mooberry already gone, it make you feel like there could be no bottom here.1 point

Voting is a privilege of citizenship, not to be endowed upon interlopers and stowaways, and deserves more consideration than a trip to the 7-11. Making it easier is unlikely to improve the quality. If you can’t get an id, and can’t put a little effort on one day every couple of years, voting is not important to you.1 point

put it this way, Argentina (i think) just held a national election that was all wrapped up in 16hrs. California meanwhile just had an election where the results were pending for a week or so. Edit to add that Argentina has 33% more people than Cali1 point

okay, then every citizen with an SSN is automatically registered. government should have easily accessible voting IDs free of charge for those without driver's licenses. Sign on to that and I think that's a good compromise that increases election integrity while making easier for everyone to do their civil duty.1 point

I completed my 2020 US census on my IPhone. That’s the census that’s used to distribute federal funding along with deciding how many representatives each state gets. If technology is safe enough to use for the census it seems it would be the same for voting. Not to mention how easy it was. We would also have real time data instead of waiting like we have to now.1 point

LOL...I'm sure ESPN is clamoring for the TV rights. They would get more interest in a marbles tournament.1 point

Five Patriot League schools (American, Army, Bucknell, Lehigh, Navy) sponsor wrestling within the EIWA. If a 6th Patriot League school were to add/return wrestling, they all would be gone in a heartbeat. From a wrestling perspective, it makes too much sense to guarantee 10+ NCAA entries for the smallest number of schools possible. And, a league only tournament would be more content they could feed to their media partners (which I believe includes ESPN+).1 point
-
skeptical of this analysis Lehigh and the other Patriot League Opponents will be fine and also avoid injuries from a too many match qualifying tournament. It will not be finals or you are done - I'd bet more than half the weights have auto qualifiers at least 3 deep. I do not believe there was any requirement for EIWA teams to schedule matches with other EIWA teams - so schedule flexibility will not change much. Ivy teams have an overall date restriction on the number of competitions. This is why they often schedule multiple duals on the same day or choose tourneys to get more matches. American had some glory years and a few top competitors but do not recall them as a team being "very very good" at least not for very very long. How many times was American in the top 3 of the EIWA team race - do not think it was very many at all.1 point

Gilman is the unique cerebral grinder with a few slick shots. In your face, very strong and intense. Big fan. Always enjoy seeing someone not reach their goals at one level and then reaching them at an even higher level. World champ for life. Much respect.1 point
