  4. I haven’t seen this many ignorant posts in one thread since the Covid madness days on the old forum ,Brooks seems to be more at peace with life then 99 percent of the people you’ll ever meet and yet a bunch of grown ass men sitting around a wrestling forum anonymously hating on him and deciding what he should be permitted to say or what the approved topics are , like damn you are the ones that should be listening the closest to Aaron , if that ruffles your feathers maybe it’s time for a little self reflection. what’s crazy is if any of you complainers confronted brooks and said what you re saying here to his face he probably wouldn’t even get upset , he would calmly explain his perspective and then pray for you , like literally with all his heart pray for you and yours and some of you jabronis would still be smug and walk away thinking you re opinion is superior

  11. Oof, that is a possibility, that match could either be a major/tech for stewart, or he could be on his back and sent to the long side of the bracket in 45 seconds. Also, Rogotzke, dude is basically bryce andonian in a 184 frame. He doesn’t just play with fire, he’s practically made of it.

  12. Part of the issue is the changing psyche of the new generation wrestler. It's happening in high school rooms and high School classrooms and college rooms and college classrooms. If coaches don't change, if teachers don't change, the way they approached the new generation it will be much harder to get them to perform. I have been in the classroom for over 20 years and in the wrestling room for over 20 years and I wrestled myself for almost 20 years. Kids are different. Teachers, coaches, mentors need to change how they work with their students/athletes if they want to get the best out of them. That's why NIL is a thing and that's why many college football coaches have fled to the NFL.

  15. This. I brought 2 nephews and a niece (all rec/club wrestlers), plus their dad (who never wrestled), none of whom had ever attended a college match or tournament of any kind. They all had a blast, and walked away with a new level of interest in the sport (along with what I assume will be a lifelong loathing for Penn State, thanks to the fans surrounding us).

  22. I typed "Yasar Dogu 2024 brackets" into a google translator and pasted the turkish words into google and then trolled around till I found the pdf for the whole tournament. This is the link https://tgf.tr/2024-turkiye-sampiyonasi and it is at the bottom of the page. It is slightly too big to attach here (5.181 vs 4.88 MB) and I don't have any idea on how to make it smaller. I emailed it to myself so it isn't too big for gmail. If you can't get it from the link, email me at timjoemcc@gmail.com, I will email you back a copy. Blessings Tim

  24. https://tippinsights.com/voters-see-double-standard-in-trump-charges-for-mishandling-classified-documents-i-i-tipp-poll/ Voters See Double Standard In Trump Charges For Mishandling Classified Documents: I&I/TIPP Poll ...Here's where it gets interesting. Among Democrats, 69% called Biden's treatment "lenient," while 27% disagreed. But only 50% of Republicans agreed, while 46% disagreed. Independents broke 53% agree, 39% disagree. A follow-up question asked "when comparing the handling of classified document cases, the Department of Justice has been," followed by three possible responses. "More lenient toward President Biden than to President Trump"; "More lenient toward President Trump than to President Biden;" and, "Not sure." The majority widened for the second question, with 62% answering that DOJ had been "more lenient" with Biden than with Trump, while only 24% said Trump had been treated with more leniency. Another 14% responded "not sure." Across all political parties, there was either a plurality or outright majority saying that DOJ had played favorites in how it charged the two likely candidates for president. For Democrats, it was 47% saying Biden's treatment was more lenient than Trump's, while 33% said Trump's treatment was more lenient. For Republicans, the same questions elicited 79% saying Biden got more lenient treatment, versus just 16% saying Trump did. Independents came in at 59% Biden and 21% Trump. In short, Americans focused on Hur's investigation of Biden's mishandling of classified documents are mostly convinced that the Department of Justice's efforts show a clear double standard when applying federal law in this case. This is very interesting info. The bolding and underlining is mine. In general the American people find that the DOJ shows a double standard in these two cases. That is not necessarily good for Trump, but it certainly is not a good thing for Biden as he is the one in power and it is his DOJ. mspart

  26. While we all wait for the field to be announced later today, and the seeds to be announced tomorrow, I thought I would use the new post-conference Intermat rankings to see how PSU consolidated power and Iowa slid to the abyss. Oh, wait. Iowa is still in prime position to get second or third? Do tell. This goes to show, once again, that 14 man / 14 team brackets are very different than 33 man / 66 team brackets. Yes, NC State returns to the expected runner up slot, but Iowa still improved their expected points in spite of their fourth place team finish at the B1G, and looks to give NC State a run for their money. At this point it will come down to performance versus seed, rather than outright seed advantages, to determine second place. Teams sliding this week include Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and Missouri. Missouri is particularly notable. They sat at the top of the also ran heap as recently as January 23, but now are looking like they will be outside the top 10 (12th). Realistically though, that fourth podium spot looks like a real jump ball. Perform and it is yours... is what of 10 teams can say, but only 1 team will say. Meanwhile, PSU still looks like they will come up a bit short of the scoring record. But then there is always the PSU bump...

  33. Of course they would…anything to help out PSU. LOL I kid, they deserve to have it there again before 2035. Matter of fact, this tourney should never be held outside of places like, Iowa, PSU, Ohio St. Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska and maybe Rutgers to hit that NJ market. The big ten is doing themselves absolutely no favors by holding this amazing tourney in places that basically don’t care about wrestling. You could make arguments for teams like NU and Wisconsin but holding this at Purdue, Michigan State and Maryland is stupid. So many empty seats and lost money.

  35. Yes, finally someone who gets it. This is not about free speech. Of course Brooks or anyone else can say what he wants and I don't have to listen. But the interviews should be about the sport. And I have stopped listening to Brook's interviews. I just had no idea that Greg Kerkvliet was going to launch into a Brooks-type interview. I will make it a point not to listen to his interviews in the future.

  38. Mike Joyce seeded #10 in EIWA at 125 finished fourth for an automatic NCAA Tournament qualification . Mike is Brown’s first wrestler to qualify since the 2019 tournament when #26 seeded Ian Butterbrodt (BRWN) at 285 made it to the blood round, finishing in top 12. Brown still has a long way to go, but with an excellent incoming class, and a great coaching staff now installed, there will be more to come in the next few years.

  40. Sure he has it's called free speech and it's a right not eaarned. Just like you are saying you believe in censorship that people can't talk about certain things. See how that was covered under free speech? Ever watch the oscars and the garbage those people push? They have an even bigger audience and they push all kinds of stuff. Have they earned it by being movie stars?

  41. This is a bad take. I get that people are shitting on Bono and the team hasn't progressed as expected, but the Wisconsin staff deserves credit for Hamiti. He was not top 6 in college as a high school senior yet that's where he was as a true freshman. And he did this in the toughest weight class. There are three junior world champs in his weight this year and last year there were three former NCAA champs. It appears like he has made genuine strides this year. He was 24-1 going into Big Tens with the highest bonus rate of his career. His only loss was 2-0 to Carr, a junior world and NCAA champ that has only lost 5 matches in NCAA competition. Would a good coach have changed that results? I have my doubts. Possibly a great coach could have changed that. On Sunday Hamiti looked to have Messenbrink beat. This wasn't like his losses in years past to Marinelli, Griffith, and Amine where he wasn't able to generate any meaningful offense and after you'd question what his path to victory could be? He took Messenbrink down three times, reversed him, and at one point had over 1:00 of riding time advantage. Most of the points Messenbrink scored could be seen as lapses on Haiti's part. He should have been able to not give up that TD with 0:02 left in the second. Then when he got put on his back it looked more like Hamiti rolled to his back to fight the TD and Messenbrink held him there than Messenbrink actively putting him there. He's probably currently the #4 165 behind O'Toole, Carr, and Messenbrink and he could easily beat Messenbrink by just cleaning up what he did in Big Ten final. I don't think many coaches could get him past O'Toole and Carr.

  45. What about seeds? I haven't done a deep dive, but I'm a respected and impartial wrestling journalist, so let me give it a go, keeping in mind the respected part and the impartial part: 1. Mekhi Lewis (undefeated; won conference) 2. Cade DeVos (should be lower for putting a capital letter in the middle of name; only one loss, one less than Ruth) 3. Edmond Ruth (DeVos won his conference and Cliff Keen; Edmond won conference and Midlands) 4. Danny Braunagel (4-0 on the year, won Lindenwood, will be wrestling unattached at NCAAs) 5. Carter Stall Rocky (last place in conference; two losses) 6. Shane Griffith (second in conference; three losses) 7-33. Nobody cares
