St. Paris is the name of the town where the parochial school stands. Founded by St. Paris himself in the 1700's. He is credited with ridding the parish of sheep bladders and anything that could be considered a ball. The children's only option of play was to run or wrestle. There is where the legacy begins. Years later recruits flocked to St. Paris to be anointed and were given either a tractor or a Ford 150 for their commitment and dedication. Some years later a prodigy was born unto St. Paris. A prodigy who was able to deliver bass to the masses and it was good. People in Ohio still think they are a private parochial. It's a running joke here for about the last twenty years. The Graham School is a secondary school. Taylor, Jordans, Steiber were wrestling all of those national youth tourneys when they were kids.

I am very excited to watch Ohio State. The pre seeds provide a lot of exciting potential matchups. Whoever your team is, you probably feel this way. Iowa State looks like it has major potential to overperform their seeds at 125, 141, 149, 157, and 184. I almost put 197 in there, but as of right now I wouldn't even pick him last in a 3rd grade dodgeball tournament. Not after that lifeless effort on Sunday.

starocci's style is why i would say that comparison doesnt hold. as good as vito is he has a pretty specific way one wrestling, so bad style match ups can happen. Starocci is the best handfighter, hard to take down, never gets ridden, rides as long he wants... long story short, its just so much easier to imagine vito getting upset than starocci

PK had his knee scoped and had not been wrestling for some time. His conditioning was bad because he had not been able to compete. He has a good gas tank and he will get it back.

I just want to see some real evidence. It has been years and years of ever more salacious accusations with nothing to show for it, including actual evidence of any malfeasance whatsoever. My preference would be this forces Biden into retirement ASAP so we can get primary candidates, but these Einsteins aren't cooperating. Sure in the sense he laid on top of a man who threw himself on his back like a fish. It wasn't like he worked for and earned a pin. He went fishing and the fish jumped in his lap. Quite the sight but not impressive fishing.

Shane was awesome for Wisconsin HS wrestling. He had a website that was free to watch for everyone, Badgerstatewrestling.com. He and a crew of volunteer cameramen would travel to the biggest HS duals and tournaments around the state and upload everything to his website. Whichever location he was at, he would do commentary as well. A lot of times he would be doing solo commentary, but never lacked in enthusiasm or passion. It was a sad day when the site shut down. I think there's still a handful of Badgerstatewrestling videos archived on Youtube. Naturally it fell to the wayside, as the exposure got him recognition from the B1G network and eventually he moved over full time. Very interesting! But I thought he said "8 years old." It was a good listen, Taylor has some interesting experiences. It did remind me of a spat I got into on this board when I insinuated that Taylor had a "crazy wrestling dad." I was told that Mr. Taylor was as normal as they come and he only moved to Graham because there is an airport nearby and he is a pilot... and his daughter rode horses.

I've done twice what Hunter has done and I'm free as a bird.

Hearings behind closed doors can follow a line of questioning that better examines the witness than the five minute flailing of a public hearing. They should use the same rules in public hearings that are used behind closed doors. A private hearing could be considered a deposition to guide questioning in the abbreviated public hearing. And they haven’t ruled out a public hearing, they just want the private hearing first.

Boyd never threatened to score. Shooting from space without much of a setup. First period. Lovett hit a snap-down setup into an outside head single-leg. Elevated the single-leg and then had poor technique in an attempt to finish. Boyd didn't mule kick... rather kept his body squared, and his leg came free when Lovett switched from two arms on Boyd's leg to one arm on the leg and a long reach attempt to Boyd's head. Lovett seemingly could have shot in again as when he would change levels and fake step shot, Boyd didn't seem to respond. Second Period. Lovett stands up. Lovett hits the Granby as Boyd attempts a mat return and escapes. Lovett captures a front headlock off a lazy shot attempt from Boyd. Lovett switches to double underhooks as Boyd comes to his feet. Boyd backs away hard and clears the double under position after Lovett attempts an inside trip. The inside trip attempt was too late as Boyd had already backed out to an almost clear position. Third Period. Boyd picks neutral. Lovett took the first shot. Lovett slowly backs away throughout the final minute and is finally warned for stalling at the end of the period. Boyd could have been given a stalling point with 'activity' stall calls if done by the book. Lovett took one kind of legit shot and one sloppy shot. Boyd took three bad shots and two almost shots. I have no problems with the no-call, given Boyd's overall lack of engagement in the first two periods... and he never engaged aggressively, even when trailing, even when shooting.

. It WAS 100% a scramble. Labriola flopped to his back out of desperation, trying to create a scamble to make something happen. I agree he was frustrated and was trying to make something happen. But it wasn't a turn for Starocci. Just stop pretending it was! On the other hand, I am fully in agreement that Arnold is not nearly ready for Starocci.

IWB... I was stationed @ MCAS Futenma in Okinawa from May 1978 to May 1979. Beside getting the daily results of the seasonal sumo tournaments in the Stars & Stripes sport section, the locals that run air station barber shops would have the sumo tournaments playing on their portable B&W TV's. Remebered the Yokozunas at the time... Kitanoumi, Wakanohama, Mienoumi, and the Great Wajima. Plus the Hawaiian , Jesse Kuhaulua aka Takamiyama Daigorō w/the highest ranking of sekiwake. Sumo during my tour in Okinawa left quite an impression on me, to say at least. Didn't follow it much afterwards, other an occasional ESPN2 showing of a tournament. D3
