  1. i just got off the phone with a member on the staff. he said Sammy is doing good and walking on his own and doing rehab. take it for what it's worth. perhaps there's more going on and they don't want to say much. or perhaps it's exactly as they told me. i've talked to his mother once right after it happened. and i've thought about contact sammy or his parents again. but i also want to respect their privacy and not be that guy at this time.

  3. Latest post from Ohio State forum... "Better update from a really good source: Sammy has an infection, it’s not Peritonitis as stated above. He has been battling it but it’s not as serious as thought to be, he’s still in really good spirits."

  5. Was racist slavery or slavish racism the essentialler role? Don't forget the anti-semitic homophobic islamophobic misogynistic agoraphobic flat-earthing global-warming-denying misgendering which can be found in documents back to 1618. All essential building blocks without which no USA exists. Only once those essentially essentials are properly and with full fidelity incorporated into the identity of the youth of today can they possibly understand their responsibility to reject anything like the concepts of inherent rights endowed upon our creation (merging of two gametes into a distinct zygote), individual freedom, limited government, civic responsibility, etc. Isn't it strange that countries with much more slavery (longer duration, more slaves as a percentage of the population, no civil war to end it, etc.) than the USA did not become the USA? Wouldn't those countries have become even more USAish than the USA if slavery were the essentialist essential of all essential to our country become our country?

  6. I am with you and I agree... I just don't want to dismiss Mason as a legit thread yet. I don't see anything that Zare does that Mason shouldn't be able to physically handle. He is bigger, faster, and stronger than last time - same as Zare.

  7. Given that PSU doesn't need their whole lineup to win a national championship this year, and probably don't even need their starters, it's conceivable that they will have significant free time to pursue other ventures this season. With the collection of talent that Cael has in house, I wonder whether they could win a championship in a different D1 athletic competition? Just going down the list with my thoughts on their title chances for each sport: Basketball: not likely due to the slightly smaller height. I would guess maybe half of PSU's team has over a 40 inch vertical leap, but I don't think that will make up for the size issue. Chances: 2% Baseball: slightly more possible given size not being an issue. Clearly they wouldn't lack for power. I wonder, though, if they'd have enough arms to make it through a deep playoff run. Chances: 7% Football: the biggest issue I see here is that the roster size is a little too small. I wouldn't worry about size on the line as Casey will coach them up and get their technique in order, but I do worry about them effectively fielding a full 11 on both sides of the ball. Chances: 5% Soccer: I think the transition here would be quite easy. Most of the talented soccer players skip the collegiate level, so the talent pool is heavily diminished. Also many of the skills are transferable, and there's no size issue. Fairly certain Kerkvliet would be a world class keeper, just so long as you're not asking him to keep to one of his original commitments. Chances: 34% Ice Hockey: This doesn't seem likely. Chances: 1% Volleyball: As previously mentioned, PSU has tremendous athletes who can probably jump very high. That would be an asset in volleyball. Also, not that many schools participate so it's a pretty easy playing field. I also think with a bit of time to scout and prepare Casey could design a sort of daisy-chain maneuver whereby Truax and Brooks might quickly lift someone like Bartlett on the frontline to create an impenetrable wall. Chances: 25% Cross Country: A big part of off-season training for most wrestlers is running. This would be quite a simple transition. Any running sport isn't really a sport anyway, it's just a competition to see who's the best at exercising. Nobody is better at exercising than the Nittany Lions. Chances: 64% Tennis: This is an individual sport, so wrestlers will be familiar with the general vibe. Also, now that we're in the NIL era most of their wrestlers will be familiar with rackets. Tennis players are generally weaker, and not overly big. Chances: 22% Gymnastics: I'm not even sure a change in training regimen would be required to win this. Chances: 88% Field Hockey: This is really less of a sport and more of an after school activity that you encourage your child to get involved in if you can't afford to pay for their school. Sort of like playing the saxophone, but with a better payoff at the end. I think PSU wins this going away. Chances: 100% There are of course a few sports that I didn't consider, but I simply don't have all day. Let me know what you guys think in the comment section below.

  8. I will always root for anyone above a Sqwawker- and especially Gilburg- but I was proud and sooprised to learn this summer that my cousin is an uncle of Alan Waters. Welcome to the family, my friend!

  9. Well, I admit I am 100% biased and I hope that is true about Hawks. I have enjoyed talking with Whiting, but I have history with Hawks. I know there was some talk mid-summer about Mauller wanting to go 57, I hope that does not end up so, that would really throw a wrench in the lineup. I like the plan of Steed at 57.

  10. You think it isn't outlandish to mask kids right now?? Require 3rd graders and above to wear N95's??? For the president to say he wears a mask inside because his wife tested positive isn't outlandish?? By the way...why not actually post something with substance and your opinion versus weak ass one liners...oh that's right, because you can't...I'll wait for the I'm a "Deuce Lover" and "a 30%'er"...

  11. This is an irresponsible, vacuous statement. Books aren’t banned, they’re considered irrelevant, fictional, and unproductive, and left out of the school curriculum. They are still available from public libraries and sales. Teaching children to hate their country is unproductive, unless you are trying to destroy the country and the children.

  12. I'll be there the 12th-25th. Went last year too. Love the city. I was quite surprised at how many parks there were. Kalemegdan was great. A lot of stuff going on around there. Tesla museum was sweet. Old Belgrade has a lot of great walking/exploring. If you are a soccer fan both Red Star and Partizan both have good teams and it's a very different atmosphere than MLS. Tickets are also super cheap. I stayed at the very very top of western city gate, you'll know it when you go into belgrade from the airport, which had an amazing view of the city. I would stop at Mandarina Cake Shop everyday on the way to the arena. They had delicious desserts, sandwiches, and breakfast.

  13. In my opinion the biggest game changer for chicken (at least white meat) is to soak it in a brine or inject with a brine. I keep my brines simple and just boil water with salt, pepper and sugar. I let the brine cool and then typically inject the chicken before cooking it. Give it a shot and it will be the juiciest, most delicious chicken you have ever made.

  16. Yeah, it does kind of sound like they were at a trade school. The fact that it was for several generations and against their will does seem to tip the Cost/Benefit equation waaayyyy in one direction so much that "benefit" is an unfortunate characterization.

  18. This post (https://uww.org/article/six-must-watch-battles-world-championships ) at UWW website billing the Steveson-Zare as one of the the 6 matches to watch out for is so prematurely out of date. Reminds me of the Monty python dead Parrot sketch ...

  23. Then quote what I said. You are an idiot. No one can prove a negative but if I said it you could easily prove that I did. Prove that you've never stolen a car. You can't do it. But if you had, we could find the police records to prove you did it. Everytime you post you just make up new lies. Maybe you aren't the Deuce but rather the Son of Deuce. What a dumbo!

  25. A very strange turn of events. Really hard to read what's going on with Steveson. In spite of his dominance over Parris, I'd actually like to see him USE his talent while still in his prime, and rack up as many championships as he can. But Parris is in great condition, near the top of his game, hungry, and will definitely be under the radar at Worlds. If he manages to win gold in Serbia, and he's certainly capable of doing so, it will add all the more intrigue for next year's Olympics.

  29. The pure emotional responses are so tiresome!! Ugh!! No one can and will ever be able to point out where something was truly banned, or provide any reason as to why certain books removed from school libraries DON'T contain graphic material that is inappropriate for children. As for the other stuff...wow...way to try and find the monster in everything. Why is it the white middle-aged men and women who are all bent out of shape about what the black professor suggested be discussed around the black history?? Give me a freaking break! The guy literally, on TV, completely explained the context in which the one sentence in the whole darn document reads...nope...not good enough for some of you...you have to accuse people of being racist, changing history, banning books, etc. Then try and throw the Native American topic on top of that...absolutely laughable. The Native Americans were doing exactly the very thing you all are complaining the whites did to them before the whites got here. If it didn't happen, we would not be the United States!!! Do you not think that has happened during the formation of every freaking country of the world?? Some of it is still going on. It happened...sucks how it had to happen, but it had to happen. Quit applying today's societal standards to hundreds and hundreds of years ago...so weak minded to do so!!

  35. Books are banned from public libraries, which are government run and subject to politics. Governments do ban books and declare it to be freedom. Children should be taught truth about country, which is far different from hate even when the truth is a bitter pill to swallow.

  37. Imagine if(when?) he wins gold how silly that makes the rest of the wrestling world look. He got sonned by Steveson... again. Three times this year. And Steveson hasn't been actually wrestling competitively. The biggest baddest wrestling man on the planet (weight classes exist for a reason) isn't even the best wrestler.

  38. My favorite thing there was visiting the Kalemegdan(?) fortress. It also has some wicked cool (and rather suspenseful) underground... tunnels? By the time we got there I was a bit drunk. The unfortunate thing about there is I can drink 4 gallons of their finest wine like nothing... take down a half gallon of absinthe and I start forgetting what language I speak. Especially since finding a 82 oz NY Strip isn't really a thing you can do in Belgrade.

  39. I just took a look at the list of articles. I don’t see any from the last 2 weeks specifically about Iowa. I do see the blurb of “all eyes are on Iowa” from the mailbag thing but that’s about it. If you’re referring to earlier in the summer, they were among the top stories, with the transfers they got, Steveson rumors, the Ferraris, and gambling investigation.

  43. Coleman Scott is returning to his Alma-mater with a chance to work side-by-side with the legendary coach that coached him to 4 AA finishes and a national championship while equipping him with the skills to take home world and Olympic medals. John Smith is not getting younger and eventually there will be an opening at Okie State... being in-house usually gives you a leg up. Unless, of course, the team stinks the whole time you are there. Since the compensation is comparable between places (UNC & Okie State), returning to Okie State makes sense.
