  4. Hey everyone, good to see you all here. I'm really glad Bob was able to make this happen. Istanbul is a neat place to visit. I've been there for 6 weeks and here is what i would recommend. 1. Hagia Sofia - this is a catholic basilica turned islamic mosque, turned museum. The Moslems only covered the artwork from the Christian era and those are pretty cool to see. Built in 900 AD or so, it is ginormously huge and cavernous and I think it is a marvel of architecture and building know how for those days. I went twice because it was so AWESOME. 2. The Cistern - This dates back to Roman times BC and has interesting history and a nice surprise at the end of the cavern. Very much worth seeing. 3. The Grand Bazzaar - This place is also huge and you could get lost in there for days. Plan a good 3-5 hours to see everything if you want to shop for stuff. Normal folks go there to buy stuff so it is a local market as well as an international attraction. 4. The Bosphorus - Take a boat ride up the Bospherus to the Black Sea. As you head up it, Europe is on your left, Asia on your right. They usually stop at a tourist trap where you can eat before taking the boat back to Istanbul. I met a couple from Barcelona on that boat and was able to communicate in Spanish with them. At the time I was pretty good with my Spanish. 5. The Blue Mosque - Not near as monstrous at Hagia Sofia but interesting with all the tile work. 6. Simmit - This is a bread that all the street venders sell. It is like a long stick. Very good. Buy it and try it. 7. Doner - This is the Gyro of Turkey and it is very good, highly recommend it. 8. The Topkapi Palace - I almost forgot this. Nice to visit if you are there. I liked it but it was not a highlight. Harem history and all kinds of gnarly war weapons. When you drive around and see old walls, those are from before Roman times. Istanbul is an old old city with lots of history. Istanbul would be an outstanding place to have the WCs and be sure to spend time before or after to visit the sights. mspart

  7. Just saw the announcement. Pretty huge pickup for PSU. Penn State is pretty stacked moving forwards. Going to be difficult to get all of those horses onto the mat at the same time, and someone might end up transferring out. In the middle/upper weights, Penn State has commitments from: Sealey, Kasak, Ryder, Barr and Perry. On the roster, right now, they have these guys, with (x) years of eligibility, including this upcoming season: SVN (4), Haines (4), Facundo(4), Starocci (3), Brooks (2). I see some time at the OTC/grey shirts, red shirts and maybe some Olympic red shirts coming up.

  15. I'm saying it's not accurate. And I know what the HOF's bio says - most, if not all, of those bios are submitted by the members themselves. I went through Kemp's record three years ago, his bio was sent to the HOF in 1990. You know very well wikipedia isn't an entity that controls the content, it's available to be edited by anyone. There's incorrect or inaccurate information on wikipedia all over the place. And don't take that as an inference there's nefarious intent to deceive. "They" aren't ignoring something because "they" aren't fact-checking every single thing. The inaccuracy on wikipedia likely references the incorrect information in Kemp's HOF bio. Kemp's own record contradicts the bio.

  18. What about a 'Cesspool' forum? The mods could just move everything questionable into it and the discussions could continue without requiring blocks/locks/deletes. It'd be like Australia in the old days.

  19. "If you believe it you can achieve it." I enjoy Ben. I laugh every time he calls folks, "dummies." I like his wrestling breakdowns. I just think he lives in his own small world which is fine by me. Enigma is a good take.

  20. Somehow I received an email for this game which promised I could play as Yianni. I tried it...and it is comically bad. So bad it's worth a try LOL https://fantasyfightleague.live/wrestling22/play?token=&utm_source=Clean+List&utm_campaign=6a705e369f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_10_13_06_42_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_1ae6f1f3dd-6a705e369f-472473812

  21. If you go to the Intermat home page - or landing page - there is no link or icon that takes you to the forums or any mention that the forums even exist?? Is this going to be corrected in the near future?

  29. Whoever was involved in the B.S. they (tried to?) pull on our savior, @Husker_Du, doesn't want what is best for the sport. A new version of the cola wars isn't what we need to grow the sport. That said, I don't lump @Jon_Kozak in with all that inner-office politics. I do hope that doesn't classify me as indifferent. We share common fandom that goes back further than him going to Flo.

  31. Yianni has to wrestle 65kg the next week at the UWW World Cup. Having said that, I'm told that there is a 2kg weight allowance, which means 147. I honestly don't know what that means for him. I know he'll be aiming for the WC (revenge for his World Championship final loss), but I don't know his priorities for events other than winning the Ivy League dual season, winning the EIWAs, and winning NCAAs. I have never had any indication that Yianni, or anyone else at Cornell, has ever ducked anyone.
