Explain how Steveson got 5 chances (7 years total) to win 4 b10s yet Hamiti who didn't get a chance at his 4th HS title only gets 4 years to compete.  Remember too that Gable voluntarily took two years off to pursue other athletic interests using fictitious redshirts to get back into the game.

He wrestled 4 years straight w/o a redshirt, with one of them being the free year in 2021 - so 3 years of eligibility. He had a redshirt and an Olympic redshirt available to him. He came back after those two years for his 4th year of eligibility and a total of 5 with the free year in 2021. 

Hamiti's first year was 2022 after the free year...he never redshirted... he's wrestled 4 years.

Brennan took a medical shirt ( or so he thought) in 2021, the year it was a free year to wrestle. That's the difference for Brennan.

Right now Iowa is looking at a 79 point deficit. It would take more than just Spencer Lee and Real Woods pinfalling their way through a bracket to get there.

I could be mistaken but I believe there is no advancement point for winning in the finals. I believe 30 is the maximum amount an individual can score at NCAAs

You also included both wrestlers bonus before multiplying.

16 place + 4 adv + 10 bonus = 30 x 2 = 60 points.

You forgot the 2 pts x falls thats 10 more x 2 wrestler = 20.

Don't think Barr is close to healthy, so I think that deficit would shrink a bit in this hypothetical situation.

So take away 20 more points from PSU and you're still way short in what is a total fantasy hypothetical anyway. Also playing by your rules Brooks would get to wrestle this year, so good luck with that, he would score 20 points blindfolded.

I've had some time to think on the issue. First off, Brennan isn't the only guy getting more than one Sr season. If any of those other guys are competing, he should be allowed to as well. Secondly it's not his fault if the coaches at LR lied to him and said he had another year of eligibility, if indeed they lied. I don't think the wrestler should be punished for the sins of the coaching staff or the AD. If the NCAA had done their due diligence prior to every match then this debacle probably would've never occurred. 

Let the kid wrestle.

That time you missed the number 5.    

People who wrestling in the 2019-2020 season got either 3 or 4 bites at the Championship apple.   Brennan in this case should only get 4 bites.  He is trying to get his 5th bite and that is not allowed. 

 

You wrote post season not NCAA championship  "A wrestler may compete in 5 post seasons if one of those were the 2021 championships unless they competed in the 2020 championships."  The conference tournament is part of the post season.
