The event is in Las Vegas. Seems fair to list the time that matches the time of the actual event where the event is located. It is hilarious how badly people want to find a way to slight Flo.3 points

Someone likely can do a better job …. If wrestler A attempts a throw and lifts the other wrestler, but the throw doesn’t work as intended and the other wrestler does not land in danger or otherwise no criteria is reached that would earn points for wrestler A, the ref can say hey … wrestler A tried, good for him. 2 pts! Ridiculous. You can tell by my description that I’m biased against it.3 points

Dake’s primary struggle is with really long names. That’s why magomedkhabib takatani and daichi kazimeghomedov had such success against him. They hid behind the length of their names, and found technical weaknesses in areas dake assumed he was invincible in. Considering that cowboy wrestlers just did the same thing x2 at ncaa’s, I would expect similar technical growth from valencia. He’s already looked world’s better now that he’s away from those arizona summer snowstorms.2 points

2011: Burroughs beat Nick Marable at the 2011 US Open immediately after NCAAs then beat him again at WTT. Dake chose to go to Univeristy Natl's where he got 2nd to Howe, then DNP at WTT. 2012: *Burroughs ran through the 2012 Olympic Team Trials where there were no byes 2013: Burroughs beat David Taylor at the 2013 US Open (Dake didn't compete) and then beat Dake at WTT. 2014 Burroughs won the US Open over Taylor then beat him 2x more at WTT. Dake did not compete at either due to injury. 2015 Burroughs got a bye to the finals and then beat Dake 2x under new direct bye rules. 2016 Burroughs became the real Magic Man when everyone disappeared from 74kg. He won the olympic spot, Dake fell short at 86. However Burroughs did not medal, therefore no direct bye in 2017. 2017 Burroughs once again beats Dake at the US Open, gets a bye at WTT, and then stop me if you have heard this before but JB beat Dake to make the world team. 2018 UWW creates a new 79kg weight class and Dake finally gets a chance to make his mark as he makes his first world team and first world championship. Both win medals. 2019 Dake and JB both enjoy byes to the finals, win spots and world medals 2020ne OTT JB gets the direct bye as the returning 74 medalist, Dake gets a bye to the semis as the 79 medalist and proceeds to snatch Nolf's soul on live television. Dake finally wins. JB and Dake switch weights for a couple years until 2024 OTT where Dake gets the finals bye, JB gets a bye to the semis and loses to Nolf meanwhile NLWC/PSU fans show their true colors. Dake had plenty of chances over the years, he just didn't capitalize on them.2 points

This actually makes the kid more likeable. Not one of those Jesus-crazed robots that fill out the rest of the PSU roster. What's more concerning is that he was taken down and ridden out by a cop.2 points

What are the age cut offs for the various Masters divisions? I'm just curious how the guys look at my age and weight that would have whooped me if I had entered.1 point

What are you basing that on? Show a reference? Not saying you are wrong but everything I've read (from non right wing sources) states that she can be charged for intent to obstruct. ICE showed up and spoke with the bailiff. They agreed to detain him after the court proceedings. This has all been corroborated1 point

For Good Measure Chat GPT has made a prediction Prediction: Since Zahid Valencia’s name is shorter than the others (14 < 15, 16, 23), Kyle Dake will WIN this match, possibly in a close but decisive way. Bonus thought: Based on the letter trend, I'd predict something like a 6-4 or 7-3 type win for Dake.1 point

Lets dissect his last thee losses -(2023 Worlds) Zaurbek Sidakov (14 letters) Loss 10-7 Math: 14-8= 6 - 3 (point differential) = 3 x 1 (wrestled one match) = 3 point Loss -(2024 'Oly) Daichi Takatani (14 Letter) Loss 12-20 Math= 14-8= 6 - 2 (initials KD) = 4 x 8 (Kyle Dake) = 32 (match point total) /4 (2 sets of first/last names) = 8 point match loss @Wrestleknownothing can you run the math to predict tonight?1 point

I wonder if we will get more of the story. What kind of a hole do you have to be to get exited from a frat party. 3 times. I mean it’s a house full of frat boys …. Which is like d bag central.1 point

This is probably it. Zahid doesn’t have a long name, but he does have interesting letters in his name. The Z and the V may just be the difference maker in this match!1 point

You could always, ya know, just say this I was wrong.. you don't have to call me functionally illiterate.. that's pretty mean, man. When you say "I would be stunned if OU had a single guy make the r12 next year," but in the next breath admit that you can't name five of the guys who are likely to start for them, it really cuts into the credibility of your previous statement. The brighter spots in their line-up next year: 125: Beric Jordan (#21 big boarder in 2024) 133: Tyler Wells (R12, R16) 141: Alex Braun (#20 big boarder in 2024) 149: Jack Gioffre (R16) 157: Peyton Keller (AA - 5th in 2024) 184: Deanthony Parker (R12) I'll just leave that there. I think you may be stunned next March.1 point

Davino, Forrest, and Blaze - we have three out of four semifinalists at 57 KG with all four years of eligibility remaining. could be a golden age at lightweights if they all stay down1 point

Federal Law does not distinguish between a judge dong this, or a normal citizen. What RV wants is to have some people above the law. But he was complaining about that not long ago. It's ok today, not tomorrow. Maybe RV is just upset that it happened to a WI judge. Well, the WI judge should not have broken federal law. Immigration law hasn't changed. Enforcement has. mspart1 point

I watched several of their matches last year. OU was awful. I can understand why I don't see anybody on this forum claiming to be an OU fan. When OU finished 2nd at the Scuffle I wasn't impressed by OU, I was depressed at how terrible the Scuffle has gotten1 point

This happened 1 time, in 2017. The match was 2-2 and if memory serves JB and the ref both were using boxing rules.1 point

It's a lot of fun to do if you are thinking about it Rodent. I can't say I did good, but it was fun. I was bound and determined I would not lose due to passivity, so I initiated action and my inexperience and lack of ability got me in trouble from there. But I had a blast doing it. mspart1 point

There are 6 different Master's divisions based on birth year. A (1991-2000) B (1983-1990) C* (1975-1982) D* (1967-1974) E* (1959-1966) F* (1950-1958) *Medical certificate is required to compete in Master’s C, D, E, & F and must be turned in during weigh-ins. It must be filled out within 90 days of competition1 point

First, welcome to the board. Second, rarely do any topics stay on subject so feel free to turn this into a Mizzou thread, just don't be surprised if it gets turned into a PSU/Iowa thread1 point

I don't doubt either on a technical level honestly. It just has to do with size currently. Can Gibson make the cut down? He swears he can via X, but how will he look once he gets there? Smith came into RU very small. He just needs some muscle packed on.1 point
-
Was talking to.some old coaches and wrestlers about tis topic last week. Back in the 80s and 90s lots of the methodology for developing strength came from Flex and Muscle Fitness magazines (bodybuilding) where building muscle not strength was the focus. Isolate the muscles individually instead of full body lifts and muscle group lifts with little concern for function and flexibility1 point

Pretty confident Mayfield will be at 165. Probably more likely to be 157 than 174. He is not a big 165….1 point
